Awesome. Being a Scouser, this was great. Personally I would have liked to see the pickled cabbage (or sometimes pickled beetroot) on the side to keep everyone happy.
Hello my friend this video has to be one of your best !! You have given the viewer/ subscribers a little of everything. I've never really liked casseroles & stews but I have to say this looked beautiful & I would certainly try this & how nice eating at the cathedral. Lovely to see the Beatles statues too!!! Train travel quite expensive, the toilet was small but I guess the train company would say it serves it's purpose!! All in all I think it's been a good day for you!!Thank you for all the effort you put it, take care 💜 XX
The beautiful Liverpool Anglican cathedral is built mainly of local sandstone quarried from the South Liverpool suburb of Woolton. There are 2 Cathedrals in Liverpool, joined by Hope Street. The other cathedral is Catholic. The original name of The Beatles was The Quarrymen. named after the Woolton Quarry meanioned above.
I really love these travel challenges! Going along with you to different locations, and getting to see the food as well, is awesome. You have a very calm manner and presentation, perfect combination for presenting videos. The cathedral is stunning, a brilliant place for a meal of scouse, which i have never tasted before , but will. Looking forward to more of these travels!!
Wow!!! That cathedral is stunning. A real beauty. If those walls could talk I bet they’d have some stories to tell. The scouse looked absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering. Great video ☺️
👏🏼👏🏼Watching from Perth, Western Australia love the channel 👏🏼👏🏼 I like the Train, pretty cool 👏🏼👏🏼 The Cathedral was stunning and the harbour looks cool, Beatles statues just fab ❤
Hi from Los Angeles 🙋♀️! Classic "June Gloom" day here. Our last bit of cool days before the Summer heat starts. Yaaay! Liverpool!! Being a life-long Beatles fan, Liverpool is the only city that always feels "magical" to me! You got a great meal! For a tourist spot the quality of food and price was very reasonable! As for where next: Maybe Devon or Cornwall for a classic Cream Tea(???) Or perhaps do both as a "Battle of the Cream Teas".
Wow! What a great journey again! Firstly very impressed with the Trans Pennine Express Trains! They looked very swish, comfortable and modern, even with a small loo, at least it was clean. We hear alot about how the railway links between Northern cities are very bad, so that was a huge, pleasant surprise. You've obviously started researching where to eat beforehand now which makes sense. And what an incredible location to have a Brasserie! The Scouse looked deelish with the red cabbage and Foccacia bread. Great price too, and the train fare wasn't too bad. A great successful day out, just make sure you book a window seat! 😅😎 Cheers for another super video. ❤
Great video! It's a shame you didn't get the chance to visit the rooftop of the bell tower at the cathedral. For a small fee you take a lift two thirds the way up and then stairs inside the bell tower to the rooftop. You get to see the peel of bells inside too and you get the best view over Liverpool and as far as North Wales!
Another great video. Your Dublin trip inspired me and I just returned from three days there. I even went to the same cafe for breakfast. What about trying a Cornish Pastie from Cornwall. Chicken Parmo from Teeside.
Gorgeous yummy delicious 😋😋 food Scouse , from my favourite city and the mighty Reds and 💓 my second fav British band The Beatles 🎸🧑🏻🎸🧒🏻🎸🧒🏻🥁🧑🏻🎹🎤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’m glad you are trying these older dishes which seem associated with a bygone era. Lancashire Hotpot is another similar dish & Potato Hash (with dumplings of course) Irish Stew, another one. Seems the current generation of kids in the North West of England are not being brought up with these dishes in the same way their parents and grandparents were.
Wow a 10/10 day out and video. ..must do exactly the same the next time i visit Liverpool. The food value was good, but the train travel cost was not. ..maybe i will try my time on trainline to get a cheaper visit.
Liverpool is a great and vibrant City, my 2 besties are Scousers, salt of the earth folk, even though they migrated to Cheshire😅. That looked yummy, I always use my slow cooker for similar/same dishes. The Cathedral is amazing. Ty for staring 🎉
Awwww You've come to my beautiful city of Liverpool. Scouse is a dish that everyone grows up with here. Great video mate. Interesting fact, the designer of the Cathedral also designed the famous red telephone box. In fact there's one in the Cathedral
I'm sure Scouse tastes good but it just doesn't get my taste buds going. Great video. I'm glad you referenced my bog standard bog comment from your Edinburgh video. I felt very honoured!!
As a Scouser I can say that it certainly looked like decent Scouse, and that bread sounded amazing as I could hear it crunching.. mmm, I want Scouse lol
I love Scouse, when I am over, you need to go to Belfast, for an Ulster Fry or Filled Soda/Belfast Bap equivalent, and a Pastie Bap/supper from the chippy on the way home. Veg Roll, Champ, or Proper Irish Stew ( a bit like Scouse ). Even a Sliced Chicken Supper from a Chinese takeaway. I have never seen that over here anywhere near me!
A great day out! Your Scouse looked really good and was excellent value IMO. As with all Rail transport int he UK, it is expensive. Best bi about the video is that you completed your own challenge. Well done! As for future challenges/foods how about: Stoke on Trent to try Wright's Pies. Holland to try Soused herring and salty liquorice Belgium to try Moules-frites or perhaps chocolate Waffles
Looks more or less identical to our irish stew which is one of my all time favourites 😋. I make my own almost weekly in autumn and winter. Only variation is the veg I usually use carrots, onion celery leek, but some people add in diced swede or parsnips. I sometimes add in shreedded green cabbage toward the end, but more often I use a handful of frozen peas for last 5 mins. If making at home yourself I highly reccomend 2-3 good stock cubes beef and veg and plenty of Worcestershire sauce. The real gamechanger I find though, is a can or packet of oxtail soup for the gravy rather than gravy granules. And the best, most floury potatoes you can find! Plus lashings of HP or yorkshire relish briwn sauce 😋. It certainly does warm you up lol my family, even in winter do be having the sweats after a big bowl or plate of this 😂 Amd then looking for ice cream lol😂
That was a lovely, grand venue. I love gothic architecture, and that cathedral was amazing. The food also looked good. I don't eat red meat, but I can imagine it would be nice and warming for a chilly day.
I got the feeling this wasn’t only your favourite location to eat so far, but maybe your favourite meal so far on this latest culinary journey ? Of course we had the ‘bog standard’ toilet 😂 Great vlog 👍🏻
I thought you were going to say The Philharmonic Dining Rooms, when you said that it was the most spectacular place you had ever eaten, but tgeveven tops it. Ive have scouse in The Bluecoats before which was also good
at least your enjoy the view long train distance between Leeds and Liverpool ...this is a city with long history in the world and also the nice bowl famous scouse .....😊
@ yea had to look that one up. It’s a stew originating in northern Europe. Today it happens to be associated with Liverpool. They make something called a proper Scouse and they have a nickname of Scousers. Looked like any beef stew to me. 😂 looked good too.
Looks really good 😋 Here's a recommendation... go by train to Newcastle upon Tyne and try the local delicacies... a savaloy dip which also includes a loval favourite pease pudding, stuffing, mustard, savaloys and dipped in gravy juice ... you've also got pan haggerty a bit like a potato gratan with cheese and onions ....both hairy bikers specials...and not forgetting a stottie cake with ham ,peas pudding and mustard .😋
It's delicous - but sadly just another great traditional British dish that not many people know of nowadays.......we should be more proud of our culinary heritage!
I've got to say that the cathedral looks quite horrid. You can tell it's a recent construct and doesn't have the exquisiteness of cathedrals like Durham (Norman or Romanesque), York Minster or Lincoln (Gothic). Lovely city though and thanks for the video.
What food should I travel for next?
Comment Below 😀
Birmingham for a Balti
Isle of man Manx Kippers :)
Would love to see you try out an authentic curry somewhere!! 💜
London for Pie, Mash and Jellied Eels
Bury Market for Bury Black Pudding (there are loads of other treats on the market as well). Thanks for another great vid.
Awesome. Being a Scouser, this was great.
Personally I would have liked to see the pickled cabbage (or sometimes pickled beetroot) on the side to keep everyone happy.
Yeah!
Sound sound that.
Ooooh yes beetroot yummy with scouse🎉

Great video fab location love Liverpool😊
It really is!
Good old comfort food for winter ! Nothing complex about it in cooking & eating !
lovely window view on the way home lol
Haha
I'm sure Scouse tastes good but it just doesn't get my taste buds going. Great video. I'm glad you referenced my bog standard bog comment from your Edinburgh video. I felt very honoured!!
Very nice, Scouse👍
great video, really enjoyed it. Beetroot? choices
Great video, I do make Labscouse also with a fried egg.
That looked really tasty quite filling even without the bread good video
It was a filling meal!

😂😂😂 your deadpan at your “window seat” had me howling! 💙
How unlucky to get a window seat but no window lol
Love a bowl of Scouse and yes its better in the winter time around Christmas especially when visiting Liverpool for shopping
Food looked great. Cost of train is extortionate. Melton Mobray next for pork pie, or Bath for Chaps?
Definitely Melton Mowbray!
It will be an expensive trip lol

As a scouser :: always have thick buttered bread with scrouse 👍👍
The butter definitely adds to the meal!

Even for a doorstep slice of bread that's a biggun but the Scouse lob looks great
The bread was delicious! 😋
Great video thanks x
Glad you enjoyed it
Got a good pic of the Beatles statue(s) in '18... probably as was a heatwave and i was down the waterfront at 7am before it got too hot.
My dad was from Liverpool and his Scouse was amazing but he would add beetroot... really delicious
Its a great meal!
Hope you enjoyed the city mate...
A more realistic adventure this time😃👍🇬🇧
I thought you were going to say The Philharmonic Dining Rooms, when you said that it was the most spectacular place you had ever eaten, but tgeveven tops it. Ive have scouse in The Bluecoats before which was also good

Who built this maneficent cathedral and what year,?...
Have you tried a pie from WIGAN yet? 👍👍
Not yet!
You seem to be getting good views on these videos. Good idea it was.
Can't believe I have never had scouse, looked well nice.
You should give it a try!
Bit of a technical question - what camera and mic do you use for your videos?
Its a DJI pocket 3 with the DJI mic
Is the cathedral bigger than York Minster?
Yes, Biggest in Britain and longest in the world.
@@davidbowie2046 thankyou
I understand the Beatles but surely the ferry across the Mersey should celebrate Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Im going saturday. Nice cafe.
What country’s flag is on your jumper? I thought it was Syria at first but I think the stripes are the other way around
I’m from us. Never heard of scouce. Looks good. What is the history of it?
I think Scouse is Irish food, I could be wrong

That bread looks like focaccia.
It could be
I always wondered what scouse was. I was under the impression as an Australian that it was some kind of football hooligan.
The more you know.
It is that too lol
As a yankee, i had no idea what a scouse may be, but i appreciate the cathedral tour!
It's delicous - but sadly just another great traditional British dish that not many people know of nowadays.......we should be more proud of our culinary heritage!
Never tried that but looks nice n hearty

Would it be cheaper to drive from Leeds to Liverpool?
Bread dunked in stew, is the best.
So good!
The readers at the gates struggled to register your QR codes. Might be time to upgrade your iPhone 7 😆. Great video, well done.
I have an iphone 13 lol
I think St Paul’s cathedral in London is the second biggest in the world, so bigger than the Liverpool one.
I love a good bowl of Scouse! Can't beat it.
That's got to be the thickest slice of toast I've ever seen in my life 😦😅
It was a huge block!
It's a great video. But, you've had just one serving of 'scouse. How can you safely say that's the best one? 🤔🤣
i was in liverpool back in january it was that cold the Scoucers had the hands in there own pockets
❤🎉
Glad you didn't go to Maggie May's. Their Scouse is highly rated but when I tried it it was flavourless slop.
Cullen on the Moray Firth for a bowl of cullen skink (fish soup)

Would not want pickled stuff all over a hot, meaty stew. What a horrible idea, crusty bread great idea tho.....😮
I love your videos, but please can you not show the toilet, that’s grim 😫😫😫😫😫
