That switch your flicking is that for high range ( gears 5 to 8 ) and low ( 1 to 4 ) is that correct?

Can I ask, why does the syncromesh gearbox have taking off in second gear instead of first
because with so many gears you dont need such a low gear to take off unless you have a heavy load or are taking off uphill.
you could take off in 1 if you want but you would be revving high straight away and would have to change up straight away anyway.
