I don't think this is all on the mark. The Mauler (Rudimer) likely wasn't captured and tortured. He lost his mind in the dungeon between August 5th and 16th, then wandered off wearing his little makeshift toga. It's likely he's got an Old God patron (almost assuredly the God of Depths. Love your videos man keep them up. Seems you're uploading them while I'm playing it! Good to see someone playing games that are relative to my playthrough. So here's an idea how about a guide on the strengths and weaknesses of characters? I've been figuring it out myself but would like to see you do it.
Frapollo your videos are great but your "how to kill" guides probably need to also add how to beat them in Terror and Starvation because it's very different. For example the guard in Terror and Starvation has a chopping arm that takes two hits to remove unless you play as Ragnvaldr probably who starts out with a high damage stat but even then it's not guaranteed. Yellow Mage's Locust Swarm arm also takes two hits. This all depends on how powerful your weapon is. If you haven't gotten a Shark Teeth/Long Sword it requires two swipes. At least in Terror and Starvation. The most advisable mode of dealing with them is to keep using Run until you get a better weapon.
For the guards video I agree, it's limited to only fear & hunger difficulty! But the others I made are keeping info of this! Also the one of the yellow mage that is gonna come in the future will for sure mention a way to kill it for sure!
Or! This is what you can do. Get the Eastern Sword and just attack the torso. It has 1000 HP and the sword crits for a 1000, most of the time. Repeat the process until you win. If you want a meat shield, just have the girl tank it for you rather than going through the entire game
Worst case scenario you are on hardmode! So no girl! Also white angel soul helps with consistency! I could have gone for the eastern sword, but that required more battles!
good vid. can you make a compilation on how to effectively beat regular enemies/non-"bosses"? just like how you deconstructed the yellow mage fight here.
That's one of the plans I have in mind! Probably I won't make a unique video, but i'll group them in some ways! But yes in the future guides on enemies will come too!
Bless you for existing and covering this hidden game,.. really big thanks. My laggard is dead so no leg swip to open door for miasma...so i must kill this mofo without getting blinded. Dont care about the rest since i have the ring from the fish boss
@@frapollo94 i did finish everything except the two S bosses. I wont do an S run :p . What i will do is play the sequel with a save mod. Had enough of time wasting walking over and over. Sounds negative but my god i did absolutely loved this game. Among my favourites with Isaac. Hope you ll cover 2 as well
You just need to take out one leg and his potentially powerful Hurting spell is no longer going to land. He can still cast Locust Swarm until you remove the arm on the right (his left arm). Locust does pitiful damage but it stuns you for 2 turns. In Terror and Starvation that arm takes two slashes if you have Short Sword or Scimitar so be weary of that.
Don't worry it doesn't require dozens of hours, you just have to think about what to do, if it helps you can just make some breaks by opening the menu and thinking about where you need to go and what you need to do!
One time i found the Ring of Still-Blood in the first barrel outside (no bleeding) and went to go get the Penance Armor. I met Buckman. I met Trotur second, talked to him. But on that round, my zombie attacked him, killed him, and i got no armor. FML.
You don't need the crown to buy from the cavedweller merchant. The cave dwellers aren't hostile as long as you don't attack them, save darce, or steal the cube
Hmm.....on one run I got black orb scroll twice. Used it on my character and the girl. Took on the crow mauler ASAP. Spammed black orb on his head repeatedly. Won. Didn't have a soul stone, looked for one and his corpse vanished. Funny stuff.
So today I actually beat the crow mauler for the first time with a steal, escape plan, dash Cahara, Girl, D'arcy, and Rangivalitbar party. Went like this, first turn he did his bone breaker and broke my and Rangivaldios bones, I attack him back do some damage, he does peck and misses Rangbovlodur (I become slightly euphoric) I attack attack attack, he does peck, kills Girl. Attack attack attack. Peck, he kills D'arcy. attack attack Peck he kills Rangvoloruab. Attack. Peck he misses. Attack. Crow Mauler dead. And my run too.
Oh I'm sorry you lost all those characters! You can always use a red vial to kill him or flock of crows from god of the depths skill tree to blind him! Even tho these methods either require rng or require to kill enki!
If Le’Garde had white hair I would just say please don’t betray my team would be even funnier if he had a guaranteed chance of getting everyone in the team killed
Hey dude, always so helpful with your guides! question I've been stuck on: how do you increase affinity through praying? I've been told its by praying 3 times on the same place to the same god, but I tried even more than 3 times and still get no affinity, I also tried to pray at the altars/sculptures to the respective god and still nothing, only way I actually get affinity is by doing the org*es. But I cant max out with just those, plus they are only for two gods.
The way it works is youhave to pray 3 times on DIFFERENT circles! You can also use a statue, but only the statue of the respective god will give points if you pray correctly, otherwise you'll lose points! Also don't pray multiple times on circles, just 1 on each!
I know this video is a bit old but for the life of me I cannot get to the mines. I know there’s supposed to be a lever in the prison but I can’t find it anywhere, and I don’t want to start a new save since I have 80 lucky coins

2) Crow maul attack have 95% chance to hit and ignore players evasion, but peck doesnt(even can be counter attacked), so we can take butterfly soul and learn defence state after take francy's soul(domination) and become UNPECKABLE 100% evasion (still can be mauled and crow flocked), if player dont have tanato and zoo phobias ofc
3) If we dont try hard mode, we can have one sneaky party member, who is unpeckable by himself, its demon kid in embryo phase. Peck does nothing, cause his head dont ready formed yet, and he always take halve damage, like his guarding all the time, and if y have leech scroll, he become super tanky (maul deal about 20-22 dmg to him and he heal 12hp with leeches)
I think best unlucky strategy is:
-We have 3 ghouls and angel soul
-Pheromone one ghoul, crow peck him, two left
-Extra turn cast phero on next ghoul, and throw dart to crow body on main turn
-He peck another ghoul and take 700 dot dmg from posion (1750dmg to body and crow dead)
-Cast pheromone on last ghoul in bonus turn and summon blood golem in main
-Crow peck last ghoul and take another 700 (1400dmg already, next turn finish him off)
-Cast peromones on our last standing golem and we can do last 350 damage with Hurting(probably need less, cause I rememba dart do some little pierce damage by hit), but he dies anyway from poison so we can talk to him and say "prepare to die" instead
-On last breath he peck blood golem
-Beat his dead body
I know pheremones and darts have 5% to miss, but peck have the same

Just wondering can you use Nas'hrah as your meat sheild instead of skeletons and blood golems.
You cannot apply pheromones on nashrah! He'll get angry and remove it!
Story of crow mauler is really cool thing
Captain ran in darkness just in one cloak and become HIM my worst nightmare
@@frapollo94 My man went to the game to defeat an early boss, and he's complaining about a couple of extra battle lol
Love from a Vaush and Hunter Avalone Fan!
good vid. can you make a compilation on how to effectively beat regular enemies/non-"bosses"? just like how you deconstructed the yellow mage fight here.
That's one of the plans I have in mind! Probably I won't make a unique video, but i'll group them in some ways! But yes in the future guides on enemies will come too!
@@frapollo94 thnx. oh for termina too if possible :P
If the arm is killed the Head starts to cast flock of crows
actuallz a good thing because the more flocks the less pecks
Thank you for the guide man
Great strategy. Lots of useful info as usual, the only issue IMO was you didn't kick the CM body enough. He deserves plenty
Thanks! Even tho honestly if I had to redo this guide there would be more things to say!
If you do make an updated strategy guide for this dude we would probably love it. Crow Mauler is such a brick wall against exploration.
Is it just me or does the Skeleton boi at 10:28 look like he's got bunny ears when he crawls towards the screen? 🐰💀
Lmao
Bless you for existing and covering this hidden game,.. really big thanks. My laggard is dead so no leg swip to open door for miasma...so i must kill this mofo without getting blinded. Dont care about the rest since i have the ring from the fish boss
You're welcome my friend! Hope you will succeed!
@@frapollo94 i did finish everything except the two S bosses. I wont do an S run :p . What i will do is play the sequel with a save mod. Had enough of time wasting walking over and over. Sounds negative but my god i did absolutely loved this game. Among my favourites with Isaac. Hope you ll cover 2 as well
TIL if you cut the left leg the yellow wizard won't cast hurting, +1 dude
I'm gonna make a separate video about that! Apparently a lot of people think it's the staff the one that casts hurting!
Thx for The tip now i know why my mercenary Lost his hands even though he destroyed The staff on The 1 turn
Interestingly enough Moonless doggo always went for that leg.
First time I fought him I beat him.
The second time I realized how lucky I was
Great video and great strategy. Now I only wish I was any good at this game xD
FML.
Yeah zombies are a pain!
very VERY! helpful!
Watchin Fear and Hunger since udertale/deltarune ost playin is kinda cursed
Crow mauler is literally berdly but mad and not a gamer!
You don't need the crown to buy from the cavedweller merchant. The cave dwellers aren't hostile as long as you don't attack them, save darce, or steal the cube
True!, I just did that as I presumed people would immediately go for the cube!
How to kill Crow, basically kill a god first, an angel, and learn magic beyond my comprehension, GOT IT!!
To kill it consistently and without problems with the WORST luck yes! Otherwise just get iron mask, red vial, and 1-2 party members!
Even if you can beat the enemy you would come out battered and mangled.
Penance armor just trivialize crow mauler since it literally make you immune to his strongest attack
Yeah but be careful of flock of crows
Hes like Pyramid Head, except people LIKE Pyramid Head! Lol
Gotta be honest, i've never played the game in which pyramid head is present, but I saw it a couple of times!
Hmm.....on one run I got black orb scroll twice. Used it on my character and the girl. Took on the crow mauler ASAP. Spammed black orb on his head repeatedly. Won. Didn't have a soul stone, looked for one and his corpse vanished. Funny stuff.
The corpse gets teleported to the bed in the basement, near the iron shakespeare!
@@frapollo94 Wish I knew that earlier. haha. But the next run will help for sure.
gud video, im subscribed
more fear and hunger vids
Whoa, hold up... is that a FLOATING HEAD as a party member??
Yeah that is Nas'hrah! I have a guide on how to recruit him if you're interested!
Can’t wait for more content!
You'll get it!
Its funny how the skeleton bleeds from the peck attack
Fun fact (hope you show this) it is actually possible to kill seril twice due a bug and get 2 gaunt sets
Already talked about it in another video!
If you toss a red vial, you will blind hin and prevento to use peck
I'm aware of that, but unfortunately due to the nature of the video I couldn't use a red vial, as there are no guaranteed red vials in the game!
Save the red vials and don't use them to break down doors unless it's absolutely necessary
Giving the amount of flesh i've seen in this game, it should be called "fear and burger''. Sorry, i had to say it 😂
Then go all the way and, for the amount of alcohol present, call it Beer and Burger!
@@frapollo94 Nice 😂
Don't forget to pickpocket crow mauler.
Iirc it gives a pipe or some opium, so.... TOTALLY WORTH IT
@@frapollo94 Should come with a note that says "Good job, here's some drugs to help you calm down after that experience."
This guide has been like get the skills to beat him 😂
Yeah technically xD
If Le’Garde had white hair I would just say please don’t betray my team would be even funnier if he had a guaranteed chance of getting everyone in the team killed
Funny is a very weird word, imagine having a godly run and then randomly die because of that!
This one time I was stuck in a two pixel hallways with Crow Mauler and Elite Guard blocking it. What the hell was I supposed to do.
go for the elite guard I'd say and then try to juke the crow mauler! Of course the best thing would be... avoiding finishing in that situation!
Could you do a video on those purple organ thingies?
In the future yes!
This is the kind of game where you don't get achievements the endings are the achievements.
In the past if I understood correctly there were achievements on steam, but then they got....removed?
Also don't pray multiple times on circles, just 1 on each!
poison darts seem to be very good against him
Poison is very good against ALMOST everything!
The disrespect of not saying Cahara’s name is insane
its really easy with a red vial and a dart poison
It is! But I think you skipped the part with the rules of this video!
entertaining ass video
Thanks for your feedback!
I know this video is a bit old but for the life of me I cannot get to the mines. I know there’s supposed to be a lever in the prison but I can’t find it anywhere, and I don’t want to start a new save since I have 80 lucky coins
Hmmm the only tip i can give you is that lever usually is in the up right part of the prisons, if you need more, join the discord and ping me and i can send you the map
10:24 😳
Where is the guaranteed empty scroll you talked about?
Behind the spectre knight, in Nosramus hideout, search the table!
@@frapollo94 Thank you man!
what is the secret husk minigame and what does it do?
It's a way to get a free human body that can be sacrificed in the tormented temple, so you don't have to sacrifice one of your functional party members! I'll make a video about it too!
what if you used a soul stone on the 2-headed version?
I just checked in game files, the game gives you a regular crow mauler soul, nothing special!
@@frapollo94 Fair enough
But... the cave dweller vendor isn´t guaranteed.
What if my luck gives me a moonless village? 😉
You're absolutely right, at the time I made this video I didn't take that into consideration cause I still didn't know about that too much
Did you know about the infinite coin dupe exploit?
Actually I don't! The only place I found with infinite coins was in the thicket! Is there something else?
@@frapollo94 Yeah you got it right.
Even with it on Enki Hard Mode i stil screwed it up with the skin granny...I guess i better off with Empty Scrolling it. I literally beated all of the bosses but that pesky granny..
How did you get affinity lvl 2 when you only went through 3 ritual circles and 1 shrine?
I don't know about which god you're referring to, but both wolfmasks and bunnymasks give 1 lvl of affinity when using them!
@@frapollo94 Im refering to Grogoroth. But your saying that theres a place in Wolf mask that gives tier 1 to Grogoroth?
This isn't the worst luck
from what you showed us, necromancy was never garunteed, so if we assume it fails everytime, they will never join.
You can kill either valteil or enki, get the enlightened soul, get greater necromancy from hexen! That way they cant not join!
Also on that note you could literally say that since normal attacks can miss in the worst luck i'll never land a hit
@@frapollo94 lmao fair
and I saw earlier that "at the very least it's basically all but garunteed unless I have such bad luck it's a mystery why I haven't been struck by lightning yet."
Is recruiting the skeletons guaranteed? I assume someone would fail the coin flips on all the skeletons with the worst luck possible.
Yeah but with enough attempts..... ALRIGHT GO AND DEFEAT VALTEIL, GET THE ENLIGHTENED SOUL AND GET GREATER NECROMANCY, BOOM, NO MORE COINFLIPS
If you kill Mauler is he gone for good?
Precisely! And you can loot the crow emblem key from its body!
dk why i watched this i dont even play the game
Lol happy to have you here!
I got two empty scrolls and get 2 white angel souls from them, got claymore from pocketcat and eastern sword from tickhet, have moonless, raganvard and the knight as a party. Fucker nearly killed 2 of them while missing 3 hits... This fucker nearly impossible to kill even with best luck
You can use a red vial to remove peck as a threat!
Make more man
How bad could a peck on the cheek can be?
It's just a small peck.
kinda unrelated, but why are does everyone think the tower of the endless's infinite-use save is so great? like there's this other infinite-use save called the crow statue bed, you just have to kill a boss that tbh isn't as powerful as skin granny???
I mean, for the tower of the endless one you don't have to defeat a boss
@@frapollo94 I literally did the tower yesterday, do you not need to beat skin granny?
@@KatBeanGod sleep while in the present
@@frapollo94 Ah, that would be it, thanks!
