amazing glimpse into the scocial mores of that era! the mere suggestion of impropriety with a woman just a hint was enough to ruin you .a few holmes cases notably a scandal in bohemia touched in the same subject .nowadays they have photos emails computor logs social media cctv of the dirty deed even police investigation yet the poloticians dont resign! quite often they get promoted! victorians may have been hypocrites in many ways but in matters like this the house of commons had a great deal more integrity.great episode again !
The PM depicted was Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury, who served as PM from 1895 to 1902. Another excellent episode. The outcome of this story is fairly typical of this series -- thoughtful, measured, and not a solid black-and-white conclusion for anyone. So different from a typical cop show, even one with Victorian cops.

Facts or slander did not prevent a D.Duck from roosting again... .in politics .
Unusual tale - she attempts to kill herself AND slanders another person with lies and gets off scot-free?
Character assassination is a female habit
Suddenly😊
The focus of this episode appears to focus on the decollete rather than the suffragettes. 😉
Silly wig that
