This is why Robin is my favorite character. She's mysterious and mature, and stylish but her mind still has a childlike wonder and I like her sense of dark humor.
I really love that detail about Robin's character. She didn't have a childhood. She was seriously abused and she lost the only people she could call "family". By being always on her own, she was forced to mature really fast at such a young age. Now that she no longer feels in constant danger and knows she has friends she can rely on, these kind of child-like thoughts start to pop up inside her head, as if she's now comfortable enough to allow herself to keep in touch with that childhood she never had.
It may also explain another funny habit she had in her first appearences: any time someone disappeared and didn't come back for a while, she always assumed, out loud, that something horrible happened to them, all with her usual calm smile. Nami, Usopp and Chopper used to be very unnerved by this (and Usopp even made an impression of her doing it once, during Thriller Bark). It was probably a subtle way to show how her dangerous life desensitized her to this kind of situations...
Robin: "I am an archaeologist turned pirate with a very tragic backstory, dedicated to uncovering the lies perpetuated by the World Government for centuries." Robin's imagination: "I added a rainbow. Is that okay?"
Come to think of it, Robin might be a really amazing portrayal of someone who was denied any form of childhood. People who are continuously subjected to adult stresses at a young age often turn to childish interests as a coping mechanism in adulthood.

The funny thing is that being a former villain, once she joined the crew Robin was kept as a quite obscure character for a while, always silent and mysterious, you never knew what she's thinking, and Zoro even says explicitly that he doesn't trust her on a couple occasions... Then after the Water 7 arc, and her becoming definitely tied to the crew emotionally, her behavior didn't change much, but now we know what she's thinking about in the various situations... and turns out she's thinking ridiculous things.

I can only imagine Robin thinking silly thoughts during her villain arc like dance powder making people dance, the baroque works agents having tea parties, and an actual crocodile and cobra fighting each other.

Also I think the camera follows the brain cell so when a character is highlighted in their specific battle it's the moment when they figure out how to beat the opponent when the brain cells arrived to that character.
I like how behind Her and Jimbei's seriousness compared to the rest of the crew, they both still have comedic relief of their own which brings out more of their character.
We can kinda see this part of her particular personality everytime that Luffy and the boys are doing some gags and funny stuff, she always laughs and enjoy it.
This compilation made me realize the reason why Robin has childlike imaginations despite her being so mature, is a result of her not being able to express these feelings as a child because of her tragic past. And now she's able to Express this side of her because she feels safe and secure with the StrawHats. Which is honestly heartwarming.
Since Luffy is not as intelligent as Robin and also their imaginations work very similar, Robin always knows how to explain things to Luffy in a way that he can get.
Robin is without a doubt the greatest in this show... she's so perfect in every way. She's the only one of them to invite herself into the crew as well. She's a dark scary badass killer, and a sweet adorable delicate flower, all at the same time.
It tugs my heart seeing the crayon style in robins mind since she probably didn’t think so feely throughout her childhood after the buster call incident on ohara. The fact that she understands the childish mindset of luffy is also a great touch.
I ll always say this forever but i think the voice acting and chemistry between the strawhats is on another level with how in sync they are with each other. It is honestly incredible.
Robin is one of those characters that sneaks up on you. You don’t know how much you really like her until she’s in danger. She’s awesome. Her personality also makes me laugh. She’s more than just the poneglyph reader as well. Her devil fruit has saved their asses many times. Her combat is very good, especially when it comes to waves of opponents below elite level. Also, she is insightful. Oda is great with the roles he gives the crew members. It starts to feel like we need every last bit of all of them to keep moving forward and survive. Awesome writing.

Robin is one of my favorite straw hats because her relationship with luffy is so unique because she has very similar interests as luffy she's likes to explore islands i.e. punk hazard and gecko morias ship but at the same time she really respects luffy as captain she's one of the most respectful members to luffy.

We all need a girl like Nico Robin in our lives. Intelligent, deep, strong, understanding, serious but still with a sense of humor with a calming presence, and of course beautiful.
She doesn't have any sense of humor, she almost never takes well to the crews jokes. She's only a child at heart so maybe she likes her own sense of humor and luffys lol.
I cant help but imagining that this traits of robin is the result of spending her entire childhood getting pursued and hunted, struggled to survive all the time while still chained by the guilt and responsibilites she held for being the only survivors of her village, all until the enies lobby arc where she trully released from all of those above, feeling the will and joy for being alive for the first time knowing she will be safe standing beside her nakama While she indeed forced to be grown mature for the hardship she had been going through, but deep inside her mentality is still a child which tasted life just recently, and the wild, funny, vivid imagination she has is the result of settling up the times, memories, and life of her childhood self that had been lost back then Idk its just a wild assumption of mine, but thats the beauty of oda works. Robin casually being on Nika's wavelength and understanding Luffy, while at the same time casually slipping bits of world history into things like they're common knowledge (foreshadowing Zunisha)
It's funny how this character have way more personnality than those who complains about her design, Robin is by far the most interesting, she had an horrible life, and yet, she respect the crew deeply, redeeming herself, and trusting Luffy and the crew, wishing to live. She is one of the best characters, she even get along with the nicknames that Luffy gave to others.
She never had the chance to have silly child thoughts because of her troubled childhood, now for the first time in her life she's allowed to have those silly thoughts, since she feels safe ,around people she really trust.
Robin's thoughts are so wholesome compared to her humour and I love it. Like at heart, she is still a child, but her humour shows her cynicism views of the world

We all need a girl like Nico Robin in our lives. Intelligent, deep, strong, understanding, serious but still with a sense of humor with a calming presence, and of course beautiful.
She doesn't have any sense of humor, she almost never takes well to the crews jokes. She's only a child at heart so maybe she likes her own sense of humor and luffys lol.

I cant help but imagining that this traits of robin is the result of spending her entire childhood getting pursued and hunted, struggled to survive all the time while still chained by the guilt and responsibilites she held for being the only survivors of her village, all until the enies lobby arc where she trully released from all of those above, feeling the will and joy for being alive for the first time knowing she will be safe standing beside her nakama
While she indeed forced to be grown mature for the hardship she had been going through, but deep inside her mentality is still a child which tasted life just recently, and the wild, funny, vivid imagination she has is the result of settling up the times, memories, and life of her childhood self that had been lost back then
Idk its just a wild assumption of mine, but thats the beauty of oda works. We all have our own perspective which often touch our own heart and mind, this fictional worlds is just as real in our eyes

Considering how Robin has a tendency to say some rather dark or scary stuff, she actually has a rather cute and girly imagination.
Robin casually being on Nika's wavelength and understanding Luffy, while at the same time casually slipping bits of world history into things like they're common knowledge (foreshadowing Zunisha)
It's funny how this character have way more personnality than those who complains about her design,
Robin is by far the most interesting, she had an horrible life, and yet, she respect the crew deeply, redeeming herself, and trusting Luffy and the crew, wishing to live.
She is one of the best characters, she even get along with the nicknames that Luffy gave to others.
TBF her, a-heh, "plot" is a *big* part of her "personality".
I love how she has a serious face when she's thinking about these weird things 😁😂

Robin’s thoughts all remind me of Mii Characters, and that’s why they’re so adorable, also I like how Zoro was already ready to swim in the water 😂

Nico Robin is so relatable for me, always so quiet, serious and mysterious, wise... but doesn't hold back from all the fun and the childish stuff
