No WAY Sony should be on the best overall category. The time it takes to non-native devices is incredibly slow and inconsistent. They're also quite large like the Sennheiser. Both overpriced and mediocre at best.
once again, sony is crowned king.... with zero mention of the fatal battery issue they suffer from. the left ear bud battery will give up on you, and they will be landfilled in no time at all. they are a waste of cash unless you have cash to waste, no matter how good they are on day 1.
@@Hamlocks tbh you can pick just about any of the regular top 5, and you will find someone to tell they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. the hi-fi review game is so corrupt that i can't remember that last bad review i watched. personally i went for the sennheiser momentum true wireless 4 and im pretty happy with them, good separation, digs out plenty of detail, decent sound stage, good imagining, you can set the base to where it seems over baring if you like that sort of thing... all the usual things you look for seem to be present. i use a set of hifiman edition xs as my home earphones, and considering the size difference the senn's put up a decent fight of it.
*Wireless earbuds. Not the same as headphones. They're super small and compact, wireless, have to cancel out ambient noise well since they don't have the advantage of being over the ears, a lot of R&D that goes to ergonomic design as to be comfortable yet still be sturdy enough not to fall out. Expecting something like this to be of quality yet super cheap isn't realistic.
Don't buy Sony. Battery dies and you are left with a very expensive paper weights. The overear are exquisite. I bought both because I wanted to have the best quality and long lasting I was bamboozled with the ear buds.
Exact same experience with my WF-1000XM4's. After about 1.5 years, the batteries gave up, only lasting about 30 mins on a full charge, only for the left one to completely die 2 weeks later. Very disappointed after paying almost $300 for these.
Sound quality with music is the most important thing for me. Also I have small AF ears. lol so often bigger buds literally stretch my ears and give me headaches.
The better and more settings in an earbud app makes earbuds better for more people with the amount of choices with preset EQ settings and custom options. Soundcore has the most options in their app to modify the sound to your liking while other hardly have any app features. Soundcore also has 98% anc noise cancelling while others are around 40%
I've had the Sony WF-1000XM4, actually I've had 2 pairs of them. They were really good earbuds for 2 or 6 months. They really do make good earbuds but there is no way I could justify spending that much money on another set of Sony earbuds. Having bought the first set while traveling made replacing them when they failed impossible, or at least wildly impractical. Live and learn. The second set lasted longer but again has ear buds with different yet very short battery life and a case that has charging problems. One ear bud works very well for up to 30 minutes while the other last 2 hours or so. When the case reports 100% charge it might charge both of these once, if you can get it to charge. Trying to get this set replaced under warranty when the problems originally started to appear after 5 months left me with another "sorry about your luck" situation.
OnePlus Buds3 and Oppo Enco Air3Pro should've been included as well. The Enco ones easily beat buds that cost more than double their price when it comes to sound quality!

The one thing that bothers me about the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC is the multipoint connection is NOT good. Yes it can connect to 2 devices at once, but it's not smart. I feel like as soon as I pause media on my laptop, it will automatically switch connection to my phone before I even play any media on my phone. If it's connected to both, and I pause my laptop media just because I need to pause it, and then I press play again, a lot of the times, the Liberty 4 NCs don't know what to do and I end up not getting any sound. I have to disconnect and reconnect to restore the audio. Anyone else have this issue?
If they were over $200, I’d definitely take issue with this. Maybe even they were just over $100. However, being under $100 forgives a lot of sins. Maybe a software update will fix this for us.
BOSE QC II / ULTRA VS SONY XM5 I had the Bose QC II for 2 years and then I decided to switch to the Sony XM5. I gave them back after 2 weeks of testing because they are not comfortable as the Bose. The touch features on the Sony activate themselves when you put in the bud or adjust it (the music stops or it goes through the ANC modes). The Bose touch controls are the best I tried, flawless, incredibly reactive and you can mirror pause, change song and volume on both buds. (very helpful if you wear only one buds) The Sony sound quality is not better, I like strong bass and the Bose are slightly better at it, it's more full and precise, the mid and high range are great on both but the sony are most customizable. The Sony ANC works as good as good as the Bose except for the lover frequencies, like cars, where the Bose are better. The Sony have less white noise when there's silence, you hear a slight hiss in the Bose. (But honestly, why use ANC if you are in complete silence?) The only good point for the XM5 are the multi point connectivity, a bit more of battery life, case dimension and customisation of the app. I'll buy the Ultra today. UPDATE: Bought the Ultra and returned them for the Sennheiser Momentum 4. The sound quality is absurd and the bass are punchy as f**.
