You know you've lived in a big city for too long when you were almost more blown away by how amazing the night sky looks without light pollution as with the bolide itself! lol

Excellent shots, stunning viewing area, incredible setup. I loved seeing the satellite creep by, leftward, and noticing that it was crossed towards the horizon by what I assume is another in a low, circumpolar orbit, which turns into the light from the rising sun and begins shining bright. Again, great imagery, man. You are truly a professional at this.

Hmm I've never seen the "persistent train" like that ... or probably ever I guess.
Yeah I'd heard about it but never seen it.
That was really cool how it was so visible and was torqued and twisted through the atmosphere.

Twice in my life I had my telescope set up when a bolide streaked by and left a persistent train. It is interesting to point a telescope at the train. The trains lasted 20-30 minutes but started to knot and kink very quickly, in a nearly fractal way.

Beautiful capture! As for the tiny flashes, I can't figure out what they are either because I've been out in Monument Valley and have seen multiple flashes like that, my best assumption is that they're sand particle sized specks of dust reentering the atmosphere head on. Looks like a camera flash in a stadium.

Around 1:50 the tiny speck flash is probably an impact on the camera sensor of a decay product of a cosmic ray hitting the atmosphere. Relativistic muons are one of those products and known to time dilate and where non-relativistic muons have an average decay time of 2.2 microseconds, relativistic muons can live much, much longer and can reach the surface.

I have a question that perhaps you can help me with involving the Chelyabinsk meteor . I know that some of the meteor was found and that it exploded above us correct? I'm just a little confused because wasn't it large enough to have not blown up or do all meteors blow up in some shape or form or do they have to be much larger and made out of different materials that determine if it'll impact as one huge rock or if it'll explode into many? Thanks for your time
