What was your favorite mythical creature from Filipino folklore? Mine was the Berbalang. It's so disturbing that you just can't help but be fascinated by it...
bro manananggal is a type of aswang, Aswang can be any of the following cause they differ in physical appearances: Manananggal Tiktik Kukuk Maninilong Bal-bal Bubuu Busaw Sigbin Tiyanak and many many more I cant list them all
Thumbs up from a Filo ❤ EDIT: In addition, Diwata is also used as a compliment for women. If someone refers to a woman as a Diwata, it means that woman is very beautiful.
I like the Enkangto b/c they remind me of elves and fairies from celetic mythology. The sikyo are pretty cool too reminds me of HP lovecraft horror story. The Amomongo reminds me of bigfoot. Kawta is soo cool as well.
Again, I love your channel, but you need to look up the correct pronunciation of words. Just off the bat, Mindanao is pronounced min-dah-NAH-o, not min-dah-NAY-o.
Tiyanak is one of my favorite myths here in the Philippines. In the past before Spanish colonization, tiyanak are known as half-human and half-diwata or encanto that were playing in forest and mountains if ever you here a child cry on forest and mountains you are hearing a tiyanak's cry for it's mortal parent to visit them. That is what I knew of in Cordillera region because why would a baby or toddler be in forest mountains when no houses around?
I like Engkanto the most, they are believe to be beautiful or handsome beings that if they like or love a human, they will lure them to their realm, which has buildings mostly made of gold or maybe precious stones, and they have plenty of foods, but if you eat their black rice you can never go back to the human world again. Maligno are their malevolent or scary counterpart.
