Here is the SanDisk professional pro G40 SSD Review & Testing video. I believe this is the best external SSD for editors being able to work on both Windows and Mac OS. It also supports both Thunderbolt 3 & USB Type C. This external SSD is by far my favorite SSD I own now. being the it is Fast, Rugged, water and dust resistant, and has a 4000 LBS crush resistant, I am very pleased with this SSD.

mine came with an APFS FORMATTED sticker on it. My guess is everyone on Windows machines were having this same issue and they've added that sticker.

The drive is more towards their professional video line. And the pro video industry mostly uses Macs. That’s why most of their G-Drive line is preformated for MacOS.

It doesn’t work with iPhone 15 pro. I returned it. I wanted a fast drive I could use with iPhone iPad and iMac. I’m getting the Samsung T9.
I seem to be having a very common problem with the G40 and WIN11. After about 10 minutes the drive simply disconnects and freezes the computer. Unplugging it resolves the problem and the computer unfreezes.
Common? Have not see this myself or heard of it. I have two of them and ise them on Win 11 and sometimes I have them plugged in for couple hours. I will always watch out for that.
Are these G40s included in the 3-4 Class action lawsuits Western Digital is facing?
I don't think so, no
I just returned the G40 ... new Mac Studio M2 Max ... the unit would not even mount consistently ... maybe just a bad device ... but not willing to risk my data ... very disappointed ...
Yeah that is odd. I have 2 of them now. These have been very reliable for me in the past 2 months. Are you plugging it in to different ports all the time. It only works with Thunderbolt and USB 3.2 gen 2.
