I love this game I unlocked this ending really quickly , I was just enjoying messes with the game and then I was pretty surprised to unlock an actal ending ! The part when she taunt Agnes is absolute genius too :')
Tried this myself and I was surprised that you can actually straight up destroy the very first crystal in world 4. It feels so strange though, my false ending looked quite different from this one, after all you skip so much if you do it so soon lmao. Did this again on hard difficulty, January 2024. I had spiritmaster save on BP and use fairy ward on everyone except Ringabel as soon as Airy used Acedia or whatever it's called, I didn't put it on Ringabel because I basically used him as an offering to the gods troughout the whole of late game. Either I Dark Nebula into See you in hell with him or I just let them kill him on repeat and he keeps dealing 10000 dmg with see you in hell lmao. Default Guard and Utsusemi keep you safe
This is undoubtably a false ending, but it was so weird to me that the good ending was the one where you intentionally let Airy dupe you until you are forced to no longer ignore her treachery. After Olivia died, I KNEW in my heart that Airy was evil. But I tried to break the crystal way too early and thought you just couldn’t. It feels like letting Airy accomplish her mission should have been a bad or at least worse ending ending, but stopping it even just before the end should have given you a true ending (and let you skip some of the world loops)
Because you're delaying the inevitable by breaking a Crystal. It makes sense considering the game's name, "Bravely Default". You are told multiples times that cleansening the crystals (or rather, overload them to be specific) isn't actually a good thing, so the average player would realize that Airy is full of BS and that you have to go against her. The problem with that mentality is that you're playing into everyone's expectations, and instead of fixing the root of the problem (which would be to summon Ouroboros to kill him) you're just temporarily fixing the consequences (killing Airy, a minion). Once a crystal is broken, it'll eventually regrow, and Ouroboros can start the cycle all over again by creating another fairy to trick other people until his plan succeeds. So you go against those expectations and play along until the end, which is when you fix everything for good. I think my only problem is how the party deals with this. On paper this sounds good (since the game's doing like a double trick on the player by hinting that they should break the crystals but in reality they shouldn't), but they act so surprised when Airy reveals her true colors, and it's so jarring. Ringabel literally mentions to the party that Airy could be lying to them, and yet in the final chapter they are all like "OMG WHO SAW THAT COMING?!"
Christopher Jordan I wouldn't say that it's entirely our fault considering no one took the time to warn us about the threat despite the considerable number of people who knew about it.
I actually had the courage to disobey, I destroyed that shit as soon as possible even without knowing the story. I am just a memster and do stuff like that just out of curiosity. intersstingly enough, I was correct, but I already expected that(they gave enough clues that airy is evil)
@@tonberry2670 well, not really. all they did was to write airy as a little bitch that is only interessted in the mission. the screaming starts when one actually plays the main and side-quests of chapter5 and beyond when they be like:"yeah, you should kinda not do what the game tells you if you have not figured that out already".
