I cried when John Fitzgerald Kennedy died tragedy in downtown Dallas, Texas, on Friday, November 22, 1968. I was only 12 years old when the assassination occurred that day.
Hey Travis! I know that this picture does look boring, but a drive down Main street is not accurate of Dallas at all of a view of downtown. You look young like my daughters, so I highly recommend Dallas, it is a boom town as far as business and been for years, reasonable cost of living ... and believe me, it is anything but boring, it is very spread out, the way LA is, so downtown has some decent night life and entertainment (downtown and uptown though are a little too much rent for me, I live in NW Dallas, about 15 miles from downtown), but it's the rest of the metro area spread out all over the place, and plenty all over it, that make Dallas what it is. I been all over the country as far as major cities, this is a good choice, I came here years ago from Montreal, QB, lived in Brooklyn as a kid (of course I love LA as well). I linked a better view here below of downtown Dallas too for you, from my blog, take a look. ranchchimpjournal.blogspot.com/search?q=dallas+best+international+skyline+2014
hey man thanks a lot for replying to my message! I may be getting a job out there in Dallas (waiting on my second interview) and I've been super nervous about a possible move there. I live in Virginia. your info definitely helped settle my mind quite a bit! appreciate it
Hey Travis everything Thomas said is correct. Most cites have ALL or most of their activity downtown. Sunbelt cities like Dallas, Houston, LA and ATL are more spread out with multiple city centers and skylines. This makes us unique in my opinion. Check out youtube channels like InterstateJD or Screwedupclickv2 for great driving tours around the city. Good luck with your job! Peace.
Downtown Dallas couldnt compete with downtown San Francisco on any level. People im the comment section say downtown Dallas is empty because it's hot. Myth downtown Manhattan is hot as he'll in the summer but that doesn't stop the hustle and bustle. Downtown Dallas doesn't have any foot traffic because it isn't that great plan and simple. The city needs to treat downtown Dallas as its most prized asset and make it more vibrant and Robust. Now depending on what time of the day it is you well see hustle and bustle downtown and then it tapers off. But it never tapers off in San Francisco. Dallas well have to embrace competing with other cities weather it wants to or not .
Although the name of the street is Main Street, this is not considered the "main" street. There are other streets that have more than two lanes and carry more traffic. Also the other streets have more skyscrapers, and therefore have much more foot traffic around them. This one does look empty, but this was filmed during the day and definitely not during the lunch hour or you would see more people out. As to comparing Dallas to San Francisco, that is an absurd comparison. San Francisco does or rather did have some pretty areas and the topography is different because of the hills; however, Dallas is by far a much more safer and cleaner city. You can feel safe walking down the sidewalks. The people are nice, the streets and sidewalks are clean, and the homeless problem is minimal in Dallas. You won't see tents on the sidewalks, people defecating everywhere, people shooting up, naked people walking around or garbage on the sidewalks, and definitely no streets or sidewalks littered with used needles. It's completely laughable to even suggest that Dallas doesn't compare to San Francisco in a positive way. I visited San Francisco twenty-five years ago, and walked and drove all over the city. It was beautiful then. But you couldn't pay me enough money to set foot in that city ever again, or the entire state for that matter.
Thanks for the comment dejohnny. We won't remember it though at the next city counsel meeting. We're too busy talking about other stuff, and junk, and whatever. But you keep on livin', we will!

Tenho muita vontade de conhecer essa cidade
you don't see a lot of people walking around in Dallas wish that would change
You do but its in different areas. Even Uptown has some good foot traffic.
My guess is because this was filmed in August, it was most likely over 95 degrees that day.
Will they renew the roads?
On 1 August 2020
