The SparkFun BlueSMiRF v2 is a wireless Bluetooth® serial link. These boards work as a wireless serial UART pipe and are a great wireless replacement for serial cables. Simply pair, connect, and transmit serial data between your TX/RX lines! Any serial stream from 2400 to 921600 baud can be passed seamlessly between two devices.

Great board. For the demo it's easy to miss which terminal is selected and it could easily look like you're just typing into directly into the terminal window with no local repeat.

That's a pretty sick idea honestly and can be really useful. Don't have to fool around with ESP32s, just drop that board in and you're settled, cool :D
