    Dorian Yates recently shared in an interview, that 20 minutes of kettlebell training builds serious muscle. Most bodybuilders he shared his 10 minute kettlebell swing workout with, couldn't keep up after only 5 minutes.
    It's refreshing and interesting to hear the legend of Bodybuilding, Dorian Yates talk about how much of an impact a powerful kettlebell workout can have on your fitness.

    Dorian is a humble athlete even after winning several Olympia contests. One has to listen to some of his interviews and appreciate his knowledge. With age he's demonstrating one has to change training methods and this comment about kettlebells backs my experience now that I do stretching and kettlebells only.

    Moved 4 tonnes of weight with snatches in 20 minutes this morning. 20kg 100 reps each arm. If that doesn't build muscle, nothing will.

    What i love about the kettlebell is the efficiency.. I can manage a good workout in just 10-40 minutes (I try to include some stretching as cooldown also, but if 10 min is all i get thats not possible)
    Also feels like the kettlebell gives me great preparation for everyday activities
    But the time efficiency is really key.. There is no way i can take 1-2 hours even 3 times a week to get to the gym (Even with a 40 min workout it still takes up to 2 hours to get there and back) whereas the kettlebell is so accesible
    I am still kind of a newbie and trying to master the form of simple exercises yet but man i love it.. I love how it makes me feel, both during the workout but afterwards aswell..
    All the best!

    I am new to KB and I am not sure if it can build visible muscles like the way body builders develop using other weight training equipment. It probably buids extraordinary explosive strength. I will give it a try over next year and find out.

    I can't stretch out how kettlebells are great tool for general fitness preparation.
    I study at the military university and I have always been against running. I hated it. We do all the types of running exercises - from 100m sprint to 10 km endurance run. I've always struggled with shorter distances/faster tempo runs and was more in favour of longer distance runs with tempo around 5mins/1 km. What's fascinating is after year and half of kettlebell training during quarantine and then under strong first gym without training running I managed to up my tempo to 4:30 - 4:45 on km and managed to complete all the short runs in given times without any problem. But what is more fascinating is how big of a difference Cooper test feels like.
    Cooper is 12 min run where you have to run as long distance as possible. It's a fusion of endurance and speed all together. Before quarantine my best was 2600m. It was the bare minimum. After quarantine I managed to up my record to 2900m. It's incredible.
    My current max is 36kg on TGU, swing 2handed hardstyle 56 kgs (50 in 10 mins) or 48 (100 in 10 mins) for comparison. Snatch hardstyle 24kgs - 90 in 5 mins. I started on 16kgs in TGUs and 24kgs on swings.

    I watched 2 UA-cam videos with Dorian? doing one-handed swings. One video has textbook form whereas the second video is utilizing upper body strength- no glute or hip connection. He's swinging that kettlebell like a toy. (Maybe too light?)

    Recently had back spasms after moving house, so I unpacked a 14kg kettlebell and ran an EMOM of 20 swings/min for 6 minutes.
    Swing EMOMs are usually 10/min, so this was twice that.
    It was vicious. Hard to describe. I did it 7-8 times; it became easier, albeit still awful. I believe i could have pushed it to 200 swings in 10 minutes, even with 20kg. 24kg maybe, if you gave me a few weeks.
    But 300 swings in 10 minutes? Wow! I doubt I could manage that with a 14kg bell.
    (The spasms were gone for good after 3 days)

    How much rest time between each set of 15 on each side? 2 seconds per rep is a minute so it's 1 set per minute. Suggestions?

    • @JRL6211
      @JRL6211 2 роки тому

      Generally you can do 36-37 swings per minute and his goal was 300 swings in 10-10.5 minutes … so, if you can survive 4.5 minutes without putting the kb down, rest for 1 min then continue … that would be about right. He said that bodybuilders could only do 5 minutes before they couldn’t take it anymore … which would be about right 😂

    I workout twice a day now. In the morning I do 1.5 hours of kettlebells, in which sometimes single sometimes double kettlebell burpees and one of your ladder workouts. I switch to Spartans on Saturdays, and at night I do weight training at the outside gym.
    I can’t believe how strong I am now. I can do multiple reps of 110kg DL without the waist belt easy. The fact that you said that kettlebell training has a positive impact on other training’s is so true. Once again, thank you.

    Is there a difference between power and strength?
    Know some people who say that you can't build strength with kettlebells, only endurance.
    Side note, I'm a huge kettlebell nerd. Basically my main thing but I'm not a coach.
    (Also, if any one reads this and needs a good program, 90 Gainz of Kettlebells is a super good and fun! Love it!)

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  2 роки тому +3

      Yes there is Werner!
      Strength = Maximum force a muscle can produce against resistance.
      Power = Maximum force the muscle can produce in the shortest amount of time.
      Power is analogous to explosiveness. 90 GKB for the win brother! 😃 - Gregory

      If you can't build strenght then you must be doing nothing 😄
      Lift 0kg
      Anything else gives you strenght , it's just logic
      If you chop wood all day with a small or big axe it's also no big weight but it will give you strenght 100 % 😂
