One word of warning, the clip does not fully retract, meaning it cannot properly clip onto vents which are too shallow on the front. For example on an 06 Subaru forester, it can only be clipped on the very bottom or top of the vent structure since the majority of the vents are too short and the clip will fall off, even when the metal piece is fully retracted.
If you see this, I'm very interested in the diameter of the ball joint. I'm asking because i'm trying to find out if it would be compatible with some other ball joint mounting system on the market. Would love to hear back from you on this. Cheers!
@@wiseoldconsumerHello again. I bought this and used the product. It works well! The vent kept dropping closed though due to the weight during setting it up despite it not being that heavy. It’s also quite shaky with the extension arm, so I just don’t use it. This could all just be the vent itself though, not the product. The magnets are strong fortunately, and I know it’ll charge at most 15w because of MFM certification. Thanks for the review. 😊
It has a maximum retraction length of maybe a bit more than a centimeter. It can’t be screwed on any tighter. Also excessive force may damage the vent itself since it’s metal on plastic.

How strong are the magnets? Would you recommend this product if it were to hold an iPhone with a MagSafe compatible case?
I use it with a case and it seems strong enough. Has not come off so far.

Why don`t you try to screw it tighter?
