    When I saw Patience driving in Ghana in one of her videos, it gave me the courage to drive. I arrived in Ghana in May, hired a car, and the drive was smooth-nothing as scary as when I was sitting as a passenger. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

    I admire your patience amd endurance with all this costly and bad designs you had to spend money again to repair or correct. That's why ots really best to jabe it all well planned and supervised by someone who knows what's meant to be some done the right way. Because most of these guys will say yes and do a try amd error work for you. Especially with your rain gutter drains or down pipes they are too many and they should have been initially piped out amd away from the building out of your compound or could have been connected to a secondary polytank as a rain catching system and you could use that for gardening and car washing and more other stuff in your compound, rather than them leaving them to sent water to them bottom of yiur building foundation. Now a lot of concrete needs to be dug out for work to be done and more money going. Its tough.

    You could have bought a big poly to trap the rain water and use it for your swimming pool instead of spending on too many pipes to send the water out of your compound. You could have made good use of the raid water from your rain gutter.

    Lovely video.
    Pains me to see all the digging for corrections to be carried out.
    In hindsight, I see a case for service trenches where all the pipes meet??
    I see these pipes that are going to be covered again, but may require attention in the future.
    Just a thought, but well done 👍

      @@1HavePatience because the pool should have had those drains plumbing at the base just as you did for your sunken cooking area you have created nect to it. And that engine room could have been done or raised to the wall level and a bit wider to make getting in and out and doing maintenance work easy, i don't think they really know what they are doing to be honest amd its time you get them in for questioning. Please do not trust all of them as experts because its best you also check how things are done to have an idea to check them, else theu aleays say yes but do rubbish or shoddy jobs costing you money. Most of these guys will great problems for you to constantly fall back on them o they can charge you instead of doing it good. Look at the maze of pipes they are arecall creating in your compound without any form of layout or detail documentation to guide any future maintenance as reference. So each person comes and creates their own and disconnect the existing. They could have gone up to the roof and modify the rain gutter with less but bigger drain pipes and connected it to another big poly tank that could be used for some domestic things, even to use for your pool and plants. Because i was counting the drain down pipes of your rain gutter and its much and unnecessary. You come from UK can you tell me how many pipes you saw coming down your rain gutter? They tey to give the excuse that this is Ghana and its how they do it but its your money you want a high standard. Also all the drains of the aircondition should have been all connected together round the building with one drain outlet which would have made it neater and saved you on the pipes bought. I think you personally would even have a better design than what they are doing? It angers me when I see people taking the mockery, meanwhile they already get paid. Please don't pay any worker before they work, you can pay them fully at the end or just something little as down payment to have them committed to the job because they want to cash out quick. And you let them know you ain't up for thier game plan upfront.

  • @nanabrimpong3485

    But the outside space behind the wall is it a street or someone's land? Because that drain can easily get blocked with stuff outside your compound for those rain gutter drains.

    It takes a different mentality to commit to a project in Ghana like you're doing, be it an investment or a primary residence. You'll be disappointed big time. Most returnees are coming from countries with systems. In Ghana, nothing works. There are no systems. None of these so called artisans are bonded or have some form of insurance. By any chance something happens to the projects they're working on, you're on your own.

      It depends on whom u hire. Hire a registered company with registered professional engineers with a binding contract. Most people can not afford it. If you hire a street level mason, carpenter, etc then you are on your own. Do not blame Ghana. Most people who build their homes know nothing about construction. You hire garbage you get garbage. construction

    • @Uncle-Basil
      @Uncle-Basil 6 місяців тому +2

      I wouldn't say you'd be disappointed all the time...if you use a reputable company to build your home, it is much better than using a foreman to find local workers who may or may not be skilled at their trade.

      @@Uncle-Basil , most people use non-professionals. Then blame Ghana. Garbage in garbage out, hiring street unregistered Mason, carpenter, etc. will result in bad work.

    Patience please don't forget to sketch out all the drains and pipes on the outside for posterity. In the event you need do dig the ground for any future work, be it to install a new pipe or repair an existing, you know how to dig so not to puncture an existing pipeline or underground electric line 😂
