I didn't get the bit about the white hard plastic bits, near the start. They get one half of a popper put inside them and then they get glued into the inside of the suit? This is so that you don't have something of one material (metal? skin? elastic?) touching another because... allergy? corrosion?
Hi. Yes the popper tabs are either plastic or webbing like I use in this video. Avoid putting glue on the metal popper base. I find when it's bonded into the suit the glue can react with the popper base and melt a circle mark into the armour that will show from the outside. :)
Ah! Right. Thanks. I discovered today that I do not seem to have any stiff webbing with my straps kit from you. I have elastic strapping, but I would expect that the popper halves glued to the insides of the armour should use non-stretchy webbing, and the elastic strapping should be used for the connecting straps only. I have not yet counted the hard white plastic popper tabs. I know I need three for the belt. Perhaps those are the only ones that show on the outside. Working out which metal fixer goes where is not easy. Two of the poppers seem to be for sewing onto to something (shoulder strap?), and there are two sizes of small rivet for some reason. No use for the little hooks and eyes has yet appeared but I am going to do the helmet last, and perhaps they go on that. @@RWACreations
@@lindybeige In the strapping kit there should be 1m of white 30mm nylon webbing. you can use this or the plastic vac formed tabs for the popper bases. If you look at the packing list of the strapping kit it will tell you what each item is for. Pop me an email if you want me to send it over. The 3 belt covers are with the form for the actual belt although they are the same. ignore the sew on snaps and just use the normal ones like in my video. little items like that are just more screen accurate even though they are not visible. the smallest rivets are for the thigh ammo pack. the slightly larger ones are for the canvas belt to plastic belt connection. The bra hooks are a method of connecting the rear of the shins (screen accurate again). The velcro tabs are a lot easier to use for this. I do have some albums on facebook for the build but i remember you said you were not on there. feel free to pop me over an email and i can send some of my annotated photos over. cheers, Ross
@@RWACreations Excellent after-sales service! I am enjoying putting the suit together, but it is a slow process. I found the webbing packing list, which as you say is helpful. I have been using a cardboard stand-up which is about 6' tall as a reference. I think it is mirror-imaged, though.
@@lindybeige No problem. I am always available for build advice as i know the kits can get confusing at times. Yes the Stand-up may be reversed. im glad you are enjoying the build :)

Thank you kindly sir. Now I know how to do this.

I noticed you had the popper installed also on the chest piece... How did you do that? Do you drill a hole and use a rivet?
Though I believe you did a popper square that was glued in. Is it secure for trooping?
What method do you use to fasten your poppers to the suit
you should see it in the videos. either webbing tabs or plastic popper squares glued in with E-6000
I'm planning on using this method for my suit. Where do I find the tool and poppers?

Also, what size poppers work best for you?
Anthony Messina 15mm poppers with standard stems
