You know it’s gonna be a great day when you run into Rise and Alpine before you even put your gear on! So much fun riding with you brotha, cheers and have an amazing rest of your American journey!
Kudos to you for keeping up with this mad lad, some sick snowboarding, and of course for taking the hot sauce to the dome. I just hope if I ever run into James, he's packing some SFBA, because I can't handle the Liquid Courage flavor 🔥🔥🚒
Such a cool encounter! Met Mama Alpine on the Emerald lift at Whistler this past weekend-small world! My girlfriend and I are based in Colorado but were up there for some skiing. I checked out your videos beforehand on where to ski if you only have a day at Whistler, and they were super helpful! She even mentioned you were in Colorado making videos. Cheers and keep up the awesome content! 🎿❄
I know nothing about snow skiing but I love to watch others ski. I'm amazed and fascinated by all of it. Those views are incredible and all that snow is crazy. Those huge wide slopes are like a super snow highway. The speed is terrifying!
If you can ever go to a hill and learn just take a lesson and take it one step at a time! You can definitely ski more chill and relaxed than ski UA-camrs lol. And who knows, with practice maybe you can ski some reasonable black runs in a season or two. Btw some on slope jobs can be pretty light and flexible and also get you a season pass so money is less of an issue
@@vifcole Maybe I will get the opportunity. I have a friend in Canada who skis and when I go visit her we have plans to do some amazing hikes. Skiing could be on the agenda...gotta get my knees in shape.
You should totally try it! Skiing is a blast for all skill levels. And the great thing, even if you're going a slower speed when starting out, it still feels like you're flying! Super safe sport as long as you take some lessons and progress slowly!
CB has some excellent terrain. Sure wish you were getting some of that snow hitting Cali Idaho and Montana the past few days. You might have better conditions on your way back to BC. Props to the local boarder showing you around chugging some sauce and having a good time, it's always more fun skiing with a friend. Praying for some ❄for ya!
Crested butte is in my top 3 for sure! I live in CO and the gunnison county area is the most beautiful area of the state. During the summer time crested butte is FULL of wildlife. Deer, fawn, bees. It is the gem of the state
So sick dude! I’m based out of the McCall, Idaho area and it would be so sick to see u come up here and ski tamarack and brundage. I work I a small spot called Little Ski Hill just outside of McCall. I’m here working the at the t-bar Monday-Thursday from 3:45-5:30 until around late February early march. It would be super sick to see u come up here and ski!
Wow, you are the first person I have seen that actually skied Rambo . Everyone else either seems to just side slide or do a series of stops all the way down. Awesome job on a trail with such bad conditions. Love your videos while I work out. Hope you make it to the east coast some time.
I was just surprised he didn’t take the first turn around the tree. Honestly, once you make the first turn, Rambo is fine, minus the trees because the bumps make Rambo less steep. Also, the hardest part of Rambo is getting on the run because the best way to get on is to either sneak left or slide right like the dude in the video did. The last time I did it was in my rock skis solo last year and the whole top is rocks. CB is a great mountain. Rambo is not the best or hardest run there.
Rambo is the worst run there for sure. Super impractical but hilarious. I had no plan going down there. I was honestly just trying to ski it down the middle and take it easy, and hit more shrubs than rocks for my ski bases. It's tough to see all the little trunks and rocks in the video. Not worth skiing it hard and blowing a meniscus!
Looked a great place. Just needed a bit more snow. It’s easy to feel a bit light headed at that kind of altitude. Always interesting watching your videos, thanks again.🇬🇧
"shrubery everywhere.. we have the knights who say nee" lmao these are the things that earn subs great channel glad to see you enjoying the Colorado Rockies my guy
Thanks for taking me along, I never made it to the Butte, so your tour was fun. Your hot sauce routine cracks me up, you woulda loved my restaurant where I had a menu of 10 hot sauces I made in house.... I simply can't trust those camera mounts, so I attach a small steel cable, the ones that ship with grow lights and such (I filmed on a motorcycle, no chance the camera is going to survive a bounce off of the floor at speed...). Cheers.
2:15 lol! The Canadian David Attenborough, describing the rich fauna of the US urban environment... no dogs, but foxes allowed... very funny dude, you have a hidden talent as a documentary maker! Edit: 18:20 Geez you haven't skipped legs day dude, got some strong quads there to smash that one out!!
okay, 20:57 is a really interesting fact. Great video, too bad it was quite hardened, but that's normal between storms. Pleased it didn't look ultra busy, though. Rambo is nuts on a day like that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am so thankful that my body adapts to elevation well. Been to Colorado, the Cascades, the Alps, and the Andes and never had elevation sickness but I've seen it so many times and it looks so awful.
Nice. Welcome to CO. That is actually decent conditions on Rambo. Can be way worse! Hope you can make it to some of the locals favs....Abasin, Silverton, Mary Jane and Loveland. Monarch and Wolf Creek also good, but not as challenging.
Telluride is the most amazing of all those mountains. Take See Forever to the end and turn right onto Look Out! Be prepared to reach speeds of 60 to 70 mph. You will have the impression that you are pushing your skis and bindings to the edge of their performance envelope. What a thrill!
Also, if Telluride was my favourite resort (among several other standouts) Crested Butte was my pick for hidden gem. You're not leaving the best for last, that's for sure.
Talking about the aspen trees halfway through this video. If you want to do some really cool aspen tree skiing then you need to go to Steamboat. Tons of aspens especially if you hit Twilight off of the Sundown lift.
Wow.. You hit the big time.. A van.. Colorado.. I used to get styes in my eyes.. What I use that works for me is I clean my eye area out with Baby Shampoo in the morning.. I will probably do this for all of your videos but I have to give a shout out to my Nordica Enforcer 104 Free.. I know they discontinued making them and I am bummed but I love these skis.. I used them the other day and I literally took it easy and they were such amazing cruisers.. If you wipe out on Rambo you will know who drew First Blood..

While Telluride has vert this has some very steep runs. So far you're hitting all the best ski hills in Colorado. I find hard to wrap my head around the fact that Rambo is 55 degrees when Upper Gearjammer on Blackcomb's steepest pitch is said to be 87% which is only about 38 degrees by comparison, assuming these figures are correct. The steepness is mind boggling, and not even as steep as couloirs you've skied, but I assume steeper than Saudan Couloir Pakalolo. I don't think I could ski it in the best of conditions, but I think it's something I'm sure you'd love when the sharks are snow covered in early March I'm guessing. It is short but a lot of the mountain is on a steep average gradient providing many steep runs, as well as runs that look like a blast for intermediate skiers too. Entertaining video as always, thanks for posting!
Hard to see on the camera but it is for sure steeper than Gearjammer by a mile. Steeper than Pakalolo and probably on par with the top of false face. Super bizarre to see a tree cut run that is almost a cliff.

So much to explore in the Big Sky neighbour hood: On the way, Salt Lake City of course, further north, Jackson hole not enough snow for the famous Couloirs to open I would wager, but you may like the side country of the Hobacks. As you go through the Teton pass you will see all the tracks as this is a well known backcountry area. On the west side of the Tetons is the local favourite Grand Targhee usually better snow than JH as it is on the west side of the range. Further North, Big Sky will take at least a couple of days as it is so big. So much extreme territory off the peak and the Headwaters. A half hour out of Bozeman is Bridger Bowl where the locals ski, cheap and extremely difficult in the ridge terrain, mandatory beacon required. A few have said it has the most extreme in bounds in the United States. Digging the longer videos. That rambo run was wacky; much rather watch you do it than go on a run like that myself.

I'm surprised to. But I live my day to day life at Sea Level.
Any other year I'd say dip south and check out Arizona skiing. Sunrise is awesome, but we have no snow this year😢
That would be fun on a bigger snow year
Gotta go to Breck! Sick chair that takes you to the top!
For sure dude!
Question in Canada are we allowed to sleep in our cars anywhere? Im planning a trip soon thru the rockies and need to know
Pretty much just not national parks and nowhere with no parking signs. Same as US
My wife brought home chicken wings - PERFECT combination!!
Wife is winning today!
You should hit Arapahoe Basin, super gnarly terrain and no crowd
On the hit list!
