I have seen a green sky. Sailing from Antigua to Barbuda, the clouds above Barbuda reflect the colour of the sea, real aquamarine. The white birds also pick up the colour under their wings when the fly overhead. It's the way a lot of sailors used to find the island as it's so flat and difficult to see from miles away.
Great video - nice explanation of colours and why you use what you do, and the simplicity of the demo makes it easy to learn from it. You're a natural teacher.
Super Tony, well done you've convinced me to visit oil where i started and teacher often told me off for doing a Ala-primal, think that spelling is or isn't right, went straight to watercolor, as i was very inpatient she said good job i like it a lot. William

Love your style Tony to me your paintings are instantly recognisable by the darks you use . I actually had someone argue the toss with me on a forum about green skies , ! I might have a go at this one and see if it looks anything like I doubt it lol

Rich Capo I would always advocate having the fewest colours you can get away with on your palate. If you’ve got a yellow that is already working for you then just play around with a palette knife and mix what you need. If you aren’t getting the colour you need consistently then that is the time to go and buy a new tube to experiment with.
Hi Tony. I have Bryan Ryder's videos too; but I am wondering about the polyfilla mix. Like plaster of Paris, it sets hard, and I am unsure about this for a painting ground. Is it likely to crack over time. I use 'whiting'. which is more like French Chalk. It's inert, but too much of that and it soaks the solvent out of the oils very quickly. Makes it good for alla prima work. I have even used cheap talcum powder from places like the Pound shops. Smells lovely, of course, but it soon fades when the turps gets at it. This is a painting I would find challenging. I am no trained artist, so I avoid too much perspective, as I get lost. But I like it, and wish I could do it! One day I might concentrate on downhill aspects. Incidentally, have you never seen the 'green flash' over the sea, at sunset? And there's plenty of green in the sky when you see the aurora-borealis! . Cheers. John in Brum

Awesome work. I learn something new with every video. We do see green skies in the Midwest of the US. When the skies turn green, tornados are brewing.

Green skies are also reasonably common during a storm often accompanied by a tornado. It has to do with the angle of the Sun and moisture in the air.

Tornado weather can become greenish. It's wild to see. It also isn't common.

Hugh I’m using Zest-it as a thinner and brush cleaner. Keeps it simple.

Jazzwayze yes I’ve found too much polyfiller and it sucks the paint too much. Just enough to give the brush strokes tooth.
And a pink tinted Gesso for me! Stole the idea from Miles Fairhurst's video on Seago. Cheers. John
