@@anlumo1 Good point, but also there are numerous historical references from aristocracies on Earth that someone could or would be appointed to nobility, and as Worf pointed out, Kahless himself was a peasant farmer, who only rose up in revolt against tyranny and by rising up and taking down Molor he forged the Klingon Empire.
Martok’s wife is nobility, but he is of very low birth. So low that he was not permitted to be an officer. He had to serve as a crew man and work his way up the ranks.

The Klingon Empire is an aristocracy, and as it turns out, Worf is basically Klingon nobility, so is Martok.
Worf is, but Martok grew up as a farmer and worked his way up to the top.
