Hey friends, I’d love us to do this in the comment section: rather than write hundreds of comments on what we dislike in alternatives (& specifically their marketing) let’s comment on WHY we LOVE coffee and the positive impact it’s allowed. Cool? 🙋🏻‍♂️ and please leave a like if you agreed with anything I stated in the video.

I agree with you on the marketing of MUDWTR but, I do love their beverage. It definitely suits me more than coffee although, I love the taste and smell of coffee. But, coffee does not make me feel good - it just makes me tired or sleepy and there is some kind of uneasiness I feel after drinking coffee. In contrast, MUWTR makes me feel so good - not in an excited way but more calm and a steady stream of energy that lasts me for a long time. But, I like the taste of coffee.

Yeah I used to love coffee, dranked it every day and sometimes even 2X a day oops... Now I cannot drink it anymore and I actually had to find out in a very bad way, one afternoon I was coming out of work, tired I went to Starbucks and got a Grande Caramel Macchiato and I'm like yeah I need to caffeine, little did I know what was about to happen... So I start sipping and sipping on my Starbys and like an hr later I feel the effects, I start shaking and my heart beat is accelerated, suddenly I feel weird cold sweat dripping from my forehead and was feeling dizzy... I start panicking, luckily I'm in Wendys rn so I ask if I can buy 2 milks and I drank those fast and continue to eat my food fast... I had to pretend I was ok because well I was surrounded by strangers so I was there for atleast an hour and half... Though a nice lady who worked there did ask if I was ok, I guess she did see me I wasn't and I told her what happened and she told me never to drink strong coffee on empty stomach, I told her I drank coffee on empty all the time but this has never happened to me so idk why this happened, I guess I can't drink strong coffee anymore... That was the last day I drank strong coffee, now if I wanna drink it it's in very small quantity like decaff... Coffee isn't great either since it dehydrates u, it irritates stomach when it's hot coffee and makes u jittery and irritable if u don't drink it everyday so it's technically a drug...

I appreciated this review. I saw the Mudwtr commercial video about it being more healthy, adds to good sleep, and how it gets us out of the hustle of life. It was not speaking to those that value coffee for its essence and flavor, but rather to those that use caffeine to get us through more work or to continue unhealthy late nights. I do appreciate that concept too. The one thing that is needed to address is the additives people use in coffee. We dont want to blame coffee/caffeine for what sugar is doing to us. I think Im more addicted to the sweet coffee enjoyment than the caffeine. I have more concern for my sugar intake with my personal coffee blend, than the caffeine.

Hot water - Blend in 1 Tablespoon Mud-water Powder. Begin whipping the Mud-water and Honey to create a whirlpool swirl and remove the whipper and immediately pour in the previously fluffed creamer from the separate cup so it will semi-mix with the mud-water, allowing it to keep a whipped topping on the finished mixture. Based on those health benefits alone though, do you believe coffee would be as popular today if it never contained caffeine? Consumed by hundereds of millions of people daily? I don't think most people drinking coffee daily are doing it out for the health or historical and cultural reverence as their primary reasoning. It's the caffeine. Even energy drinks are seen with more speculation and concern regarding caffeine but coffee gets a pass every time. I'm not even saying the world would be a better place without coffee, it's just weird to me that caffeine dependence isn't something that's talked about more often.

I wasn't digging the mudwtr flavor, but the noticeable , GOOD side effects made me experiment until I came up with a way to drink it and enjoy it. I actually mix it with coffee, add 3 packets of Splenda, 2 tbl spoons of powdered creamer, and 2 tbl spoons of mct oil ( actual liquid oil, not the powder mct that mudwtr sells, their stuff taste like coconut). This recipe makes the mudwtr taste like a cup of pumpkin pie! I know, I know, people will have a fit about adding all the junk to something healthy, but if that's what it takes to get it down, it's worth it. Before mudwtr, I was in constant, cronic pain. Couldn't sleep because of back and shoulder pain, and I was looking at surgery. 2 weeks into this mudwtr recipe, and my pain was almost completely gone. When I was younger it was instant, but then they graduated to french press. I don't consume foods and beverages for health, I consume them because I love being alive on this planet. Eating good food and drinking tasty drinks make me happy. I haven't fought my way through disordered eating and diet culture to drink 'superfoods' in the morning. After using Mud Wtr and finishing the entire can over the course of a few months here are my thoughts. I give kudos to their marketing team as I saw lots of ads for it with some cool hipster dude, painting art, and drinking it out of a cool looking hipster mason jar and was like I want to drink a cool alternative coffee out of a hipster mason jar too and they made it sound so good. So I was excited when I got it, the cool mixer, the packets, the stickers, the works. The excitement wears off once you start to make it. It does not mix well for starters. It is pretty good tasting but nothing exciting. It’s not something that will replace coffee but instead seems like a drink to supplement coffee like if you have coffee in the morning but then want something later in the day with less caffeine you might opt for this. Or you can mix a teaspoon of it into a cup of half caff coffee as the cocoa, cinnamon, turmeric can give your coffee some added depth and flavor. So it was OK but I would not buy it again for 2 main reasons 1) cost, it is very expensive for the amount you get 2) it is hard to mix for someone used to using KCups with a dash of oat milk (no mixing needed), this was a pain to prepare. If they lowered the price and made the product mix better I’d try it again but until then nope.

Sorry for this long comment in advanced.
I made my own version without the mushrooms and turmeric. It’s basically just Thai tea ( made with milk ), dark chocolate syrup and spices one might use in fancy lattes or muffins. All that other stuff they use in theirs sounds like bs.
I used to experiment with all kinds of ingredients for teas, lattes, green juices etc when I was in my mid 20s ( 10 years ago omg ). Mushroom powder and tumeric don’t do anything for your health when it comes to drinks.Maybe in curry and other foods but idk.
Also if the ones they use don’t make the drink taste nasty.. They aren’t real from the source. They are highly processed to take to the nasty flavor out. Which would kill any good stuff in them.. Real mushroom powder with exception to the white bean mushroom ( it naturally has no flavor ) taste awful.

i hate coffee but listening to you talk about it with so much passion makes me want to try it again lol. I will say, as a tea enjoyer myself, mud/wtr is sooo weird. there's several problems- i know some people found how it's advertising masala chai as this 'exotic mud' to be in poor taste, given how chai is just indian tea and the only difference between normal chai and this product is all the fucking mushrooms (which, as you mentioned, don't have a massive impact on the taste until the aftertaste).
the thing is, mushroom tea. is a thing. herbal tea is a thing. it's not the kind of thing you're supposed to drink every day, since a lot of herbals are used for over the counter medicinal purposes, but some ppl really like it. chai tea is a thing, and you can get better chai by brewing it yourself or just getting tea bags. mixing them in unnecessary, but if you really want an earthy tea then just get matcha.
mixing together mushrooms and chai is so strange to me, but what's worse about it is the elitism. these guys act like they discovered something revolutionary but it's really just shitty instant chai. im not even sure if there's any health benefits besides maybe cutting back on caffeine (which you can do with normal tea anyways). if anyone out there reallly wants mushroom chai, grab some mushroom tea from buddha teas and some ultra spice chai from twinnings. steep those bad boys for 3 min (steep the mushroom for 6-10 if you really want to milk the medicine out) and mix. $15 compared to mud/wtr's $40. you can prob get a tin of good umami matcha for that same price, but hey you wanted the mushroom chai.
to me, they aren't selling a quality product. they're selling the idea of 'anti-coffee', they dont even market it as 'tea' because they say its better than normal tea. and honestly? that sucks. there's more to tea than 'not coffee' and there's more to coffee than 'roasted energy drink'. it sucks that people are making money by telling people they're better than others for buying this product. hopefully moving forward tea drinkers and coffee drinkers can bond over appreciating the nuances of both of our preferred drinks.

Coffee for me is very important. I'm not really addicted, in that I only have it in the morning after I wake up, but I NEED MY COFFEE. I tried Mud Wtr, and this is my take. I like coffee and tea, because they are brewed. Mud Wtr isn't really brewed it's more like being suspended in the water with the mixer. Between sips, the solids settle at the bottom and becomes sludge. Mud Wtr acknowledges this, and instructs you to add more hot water and whip it up again. Who wants to do this? Not me... The other thing I didn't like is how watery it is. Very watery... Like a weak cup of coffee watery. It does improve by adding the creamer and a little cacao, but still not anywhere close to coffee. I can't drink coffee because of stomach issues, so this was something I could drink with no real effects to me. How I would mix mine is I'd use a mesh strainer to filter it after mixing. I'd add more cinnamon and then I'd add this vanilla creamer. It did hurt the cost of it all but honestly, that mud water lasted forever. I ended up having to throw one of the containers away because it went past it's exp date, that's how long I had it. I didn't drink it every day but I did drink it quite often. I did stop paying for it because it is expensive. The frother didn't last long. Maybe a year or so before it just stopped working. Wouldn't charge anymore. So, I wouldn't spend 60 on this. Just get a cheap frother. I am thinking about going back though.

Try "Dandy Blend" - it's made from 3 roasted roots (dandelion being 1) and 2 roasted grains. I love it and honestly the best alternative I've come across!!

Honestly i have drank coffee for years. Many different types in my travels and ventures etc. Some of the blends i had while living in Puerto Rico are definitely on my list of favorites. MUD/WTR is different though. Ive heard about and looked into them for awhile but never could see my self shelling out that much money on a product i might not like. I had the opportunity recently to try some while working on something for a friend. Honestly i was very impressed. The flavor isint all that great but ive had alot worse tasting brews. The flavor could easily be masked though. If you like the coffee flavor it definitely mixes with with some good quality instant coffee. Now what i did not expect though was the level of focus it gave me. It definitely woke me up like caffiene would but i didnt expect the level of concentration that it gave me. My normal scatterbrained way of doing things was all but gone. But it was a calm and not a anxious concentration like a strong brew would normally give me. The effects of it lasted about 6 hours as well and was very noticeable. I dont see MUD/WTR replacing coffee for me. But would be more than happy to buy some for myself and add it into the rotation.

A year late, but this video is great. An unbiased review on mud wtr is great. I’ve been thinking I need to switch up from coffee, but maybe I actually don’t.

I’ve never seen the ads, just found mud water online. It’s very good for me, and although I still drink coffee, i’m down cftom5 to 1-2 a day! I still do love coffee too!

I have a mushroom cocoa drink that has a similar earthy taste and what do I do with it? Add a half a scoop to my coffee :)

I remember being bombarded with ads for this. I was more focused on trying to skip it than the product itself bc the one I saw was Orientalist(?). I thought it was chai powder. I have the spices to make chai. I enjoy coffee, but was trying to cut back at the time. Had no need for this but was curious why the algorithm kept pushing it on me

Spoken w/ eloquence & care. Well done, Sir. You gave it an honest try. And you did not bash the opposing side for their views just because you are not a fan. Please, teach the others how to do this.

If someone experiences drawbacks of caffeine intake, they are anxious and jittery... why not just drink decaf?

Coffee screws my health up. It increases my inflammation and my heart can’t hang with it. I love it so much though. I’ve cut down but it’s been a battle so I’m looking for an alternative. I do drink homemade hot chocolate sometimes but damn…

As per your request Kyle, I would have to say I love the way coffee makes me feel. Some folks feel that holding a cigarette between their fingers boasts confidence and makes them feel classy. That's how I feel with coffee. That sweet cup of coffee in my hand as I'm at a work meeting makes me feel and look smarter. And, this may be too much information, however, if I had the choice of having sex with my wife when I wake up or having a cup of coffee.... I'm reaching for my cup of coffee.
