Lastly, we want to remind our viewers to prioritize safety when working with solar panels, batteries, power tools, electrical equipment, and electricity in general. We assume no liability for any property damage or injury resulting from the information provided in our videos, and we recommend that only experienced licensed electricians install or service solar panel and battery systems. Thank you for supporting our hobby and we hope our content has been genuinely helpful and informative.
Why Solar Power - On Grid And Off Grid
Solar power is a renewable energy source that converts energy from the sun into usable electricity. This environmentally friendly and cost-effective energy source has gained popularity in recent years. Solar panels made of silicon absorb sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity, which is then transformed into alternating current (AC) electricity for use in homes and businesses. As solar power continues to become more accessible and affordable, many individuals and companies are investing in solar energy systems to reduce their reliance on traditional sources of electricity.
    Intro To Off Grid Solar
If you're a DIY enthusiast looking to power your home or cabin off the grid, an off-grid solar system may be the perfect solution for you. These systems can be designed and installed without professional help, allowing you to generate and store your own electricity without relying on a traditional power grid.
To create an off-grid solar system, you'll need to invest in solar panels, batteries, inverters and other electronics and hardware. Designing and installing an off-grid solar system can be a challenging but rewarding project for DIY enthusiasts. It allows you to take control of your own energy production and live a more sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle. With the right equipment and guidance, you can enjoy the benefits of off-grid solar power for years to come.
    Intro To Grid Tied Solar
Grid-tied solar systems are a popular way for homeowners and businesses to generate their own electricity while staying connected to the traditional power grid. These systems use solar panels to produce DC electricity, which is converted to AC electricity with an inverter. Any excess electricity can be sent back to the grid for others to use, potentially earning credits on your electricity bill.
One of the primary advantages of a grid-tied solar system is that it allows you to generate your own electricity while still having access to power from the grid. If your solar panels aren't producing enough electricity to meet your needs, you can still draw power from the grid. If your panels are producing more electricity than you need, you can send the excess power back to the grid.
Grid-tied solar systems are easier to install, with pre-designed kits available from many companies that can be customized to meet your needs. These systems are an excellent way to reduce your reliance on traditional sources of electricity, save money on your electricity bill, and lower your carbon footprint.

Do you ever run into issues with the AHJ about running AC and DC in the same wireway? I’ve heard mixed opinions over the years on this topic.. Clean work, love the channel!👍

Good stuff man. I recently have branched off on my own doing repair/critter guard installs but still working full time for an installer. Would love to be able to get to a point where I can take on a new install on my own
If you have any tips or ever have any free time to chat that'd be awesome!

Correct. but when you work on the roof it make's it 10x more difficult to work effecient. the only dangerous part is when you climb on the roof from the ladder or descent from it on the roof you are safe.

Shouldn’t you be harnessed and anchored over the top onto the opposite side of the roof. Was Mountain Dew for grip? You are amazing. Be safe

Dude you are on camera without your rope on. I've worked solar and you are messing with fire. First and most importantly your life, second makes insurance nearly impossible, and third if osha gets a hold of this you could get quite a fine.
Orher than that I very much enjoyed your video.

Ok this guy lost all respect saying he likes solar edge over enphase, first off let me tell you out of over 2000 installs I’ve done never once have had a bad enphase combiner which that’s what it’s actually called and not an invertor those go into cars😂😂 but yet 2/4 solaredge combiners I get are literally faulty and if you know how to test you just see if at least all panels are going to the box at least if they are and your combiner won’t sinc up right than guerentee 96% of the time you got a faulty combiner box and trust me I would know I have a commercial account with CED and even they say solaredge is the goodwill of solar compared to enphase and you also have to run it in a circuit rather than just matching wires and using jumpers to jump arrays and before messaging, yes a circuit where the string Goes from front panel and has to daisy chain the whole thing rather to enphase you just match black with black and red with red and tie in your ground and literally just make sure you don’t exceed 13 per string that’s it. so in that case if you got Let’s say you got a 26 panel but three arrays so three different mounting plains all you have to do is one home run string to closest array and than another string that goes to second array and than jumps it in the attic to the third array, than wire it black with black and red with red and than your ground and label your strings from combiner so when you tie in you know your strings are tied correctly and solaredge is just crap if I had that same install I would have to first of all make a circuit and use roof conduit and very rarely attic run because you have to use damn pv wire on the roof and run it all the way across the roof to your other array and connect either male or female to the array and it just looks ugly and not to mention the wiring is literally backwards 😂😂😂 black goes to red and red goes to black and ground is still the same but here’s the kicker pv wire is all the same color and you literally have to cut a lead and put it into the box and than have to go all the way to the last panel you set and run a pv wire like 30 to the box just to get your positive to go into the box. It’s literally more work and also the goodwill of solar and even on top of that like I said solaredge is crap and there combiners half the time literally are faulty from the factory not to mention enphase has an option to just plc scan on the app and see if all the panels are communicating to the box and than done, your electrician can commission while your on your way to next job with solaredge you be waiting longer on the phone than the whole install would have taken if you just used enphase 😂😂😂
