Thanks so much for your content!
I’ve been thinking about it and going to switch trades and get into solar, just got certified by Enphase to install and next I’ll contact some installers in my area (Toronto, Ontario) about possibly working with them for a period of time until I feel confident to install on my own.
Your videos are so helpful! 🙏🏼

Awesome, just plain awesome. Iron Ridge for the win on easy bolting. Also over the shingle flashing is a beautiful thing. Go get em, Goat!!!

Thank you! I used to be all about the open channel rail and now I’m a big fan of iron ridge.

Cool video. Is there a maximum system size for a 200 amp panel? I read conflicting information online. We have a 11400H SolarEdge inverter and 30 panels but would maybe like to add to the system later on.

Are those mounts water tight or you had to add some adhesive?

I got a question when you're doing solar panel installation on a roof that's in the northern climates where you have snow is it important to put the solar panels tight together on the top and bottom so that the snow doesn't build up along the rails that hold the solar panel on the roof?

Are those s440 optimizers? Have you had any issues with those by chance? I'm getting a lot of iso fault service calls on that model. Whenever I track it down, the optimizer in question is never damaged but it fails the resistance test.

@@AnActualCoconut any experiences to share? Today I had one testing at 28v that was shutting down a string

Everyone should standardize around the highest performing optimizer, which in an S series based option would be S500B. By doing so, you reduce the number of optimizers required to activate a string and therefore allow strings to be more reliable. Often folks have strings of exactly 8 for an S440, which if an optimizer fails, the whole string will perform significantly worse. That string of 8 is improved by using S500B because you now have redundancy against failures.
At the end of the day, MLPE focus on panels being the culprit of failures, where the opposite is the case. There are at least thousands of failures related to MLPE, including microinverters, before one defective panel is ever found.

arning: Replace your shingle roof before you install solar panels, neighbors had solar panels installed two years ago, shingle roof had to be replaced this year, it cost them $11,500.00 to have the solar panels removed and installed again....
