Can't Stand The Rezillos still holds up, gets a spin here every week. William Mysterious some bass 👍
Cheers for this 🍻
How can anyone not like the new wave/ punk sound of this Scottish group? And how could any young punk not fall in love with singer Fay Fife and her adorable kinetic energy? They started as an eight piece band when students at Edinburgh Art College in 1976, taking their name from a comic book cafe called Revilo Cafe. My introduction to Scottish punk came fast and furious with the 45 I Can't Stand My Baby (8/3/77), an all out total blitz that hasn't lost a shred of power in over 37 years. I urge everyone to listen to it on youtube. Top Of the Pops, No and (My Baby Does) Good Sculptures all turned up on their classic debut album Can't Stand the Rezillos (7/21/78) I believe Fight Amongst Yourselves might be unique to this Peel session, but I could be wrong. Off the evidence of videos, their live shows must have been a total blast--stone cold rave-ups. So why wasn't this group a lot more popular? Maybe this had something to do with it. Their label, Sire Records, was owned by Seymour Stein. At a reception for Can't Stand the Rezillos, Fay went at Stein's wife Linda with a cream cake. Possibly their promotion suffered a bit after that. Gotta love the girl.
Very good! As good or better than any of the well known punk groups of the time.
And for anyone new to the vibracobra23 channel, he is the gold standard for Peel sessions. He takes great care in finding the best sound quality available and I have received a wonderful education about the importance of John Peel from his channel. . Do check out his many posts.
They playing here in 3 weeks -👍
***** hmmmm not sure but if so, im glad to help 😆
***** or a nightmare 😲
Yeees! Good old Punk! I❤it! Torsten, East Germany! RIP, JOHN!
I didn't get into the Rezillos until 1978, and their LP conjures up a real reflection of that time for me. I listened to it only the other day and it's still excitement at full pelt, even now!
1978 was a fine year to be discovering the Rezillos!!
Fantastic - I made my own Rezillos t shirt when I was about 17 by tracing the logo from the album cover.
Oh, god..... Fay Fife was someone..... so beautiful.
saw them at the Nashville rooms London 78........great band...........
I saw them last week in Glasgow with The Undertones, the first time i saw them was in Grangemouth about 1978, still the same just absolutely brilliant.
Fantastic band who recorded one of the best debut albums ever... and they are still playing amazing live shows!
Very underrated band I loved them and still listen to them now and I'm 59 !🏁🚀♣🇬🇧
IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE I POSTED THIS FINE REZILLOS' PEEL SESSION SO LET'S HEAR IT AGAIN.

Top Of the Pops, No and (My Baby Does) Good Sculptures all turned up on their classic debut album Can't Stand the Rezillos (7/21/78) As did Fight Amongst Yourselves which was re-titled It Gets Me on the album.

The epitomy of cool at the time. As a fourteen year old, the Peel show and the Melody maker,/NME were a godsend. Thanks for putting it up 👍
Love this band the bass player really works his socks off.
Fight / Get's Me ...a William Mysterious composition .
ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY HUMANS !!!!
Loved The Rezillos since 1977 and was crushed when with (Manchester Free Trade Hall) tickets in hand, they split up. Then in 2008 in Tokyo I was gobsmacked to find the "(Almost) Complete Rezillos" CD. Still loving them!
Main influence for The Wayward Youth in New Orleans in, 78 was so much fun truly believed this would be around far longer. WRONG! Was 18 & made lifelong friends. Sadly lost so many. Thanks for sharing this
Sounds so fresh, not heard this since the original broadcast in medium wave.
Knew that I would find this on Vibracobra, thanks once again, brilliant
Proof positive these guys were good...they made it to the Peel Sessions!!
My friend saw them at CBGB ...
She says that the band came in and started up with firey, fantastic , instrumental...then Faye hit the stage ..AND THE SHOW STARTED !!!!
brilliant
FAB !!
this is cool. First time I heard about Rezillos was through Youth Brigade
these ones are amazing that rime.
h.m.
"Fight Amongst Yourselves" ..also known as
"It Gets Me" on the lp
epic
NICE TO THINK PEEL GOT ON WITH OTHERS LIKE MIKE READ... HE WHO PLAYED MOTORHEAD CIRCA 1977/87 AS I WAS OFF TO SCHOOL...
Cue 1980... "I went to a disco with Readie, the first time I'd been to a proper disco in my life. So I'd obviously not dressed for the thing, still wearing the dirty jeans and the fell walking boots that I'd worn to Futurama in Leeds at the weekend". ... Just close yer eyes and hear Peels' voice.
6:46 - aka "it gets me"...
Interesting bit of chit chat at the start. Because John Peel didn't seem to hate him like he did most other R1 DJs, we used to think Mike Read was cool. Oh how wrong we were.
How the hell do you get a hold of all these peel sessions?
Has to be a full nelson...they always escape from half nelsons
I'm so scared right now
Pity they couldn't squeeze in "Somebody's gonna get their head kicked in tonight"
9:20 What is the wrong band's name? Does anybody know?

@@Vibracobra23_Original Thanks a lot!
Could you make a better LP than they did back then? Good luck trying.
Fans of "old school" UK punk should sniff out Australia's AMYL & THE SNIFFERS and their s/t debut...
i just want to say, i love this band to bitz. x
