Man you just explained what I've been looking for about an hour and you did it in under 2 minutes! Thanks again. Keep doing videos. How about one on the white vacuum ports on top of the mikuni carbs
Thank you. I did the video because I couldn't find an easy guide anywhere on how to do it. Glad it helped you out. I don't have the GS anymore. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciated 👍
Yea im helping myneigbour rebuild his at the moment. The chain tensioner let go and caused all sorts of issues. Quick qurstion though, is it 18 links in between the 2 and 3 marks or from mark to mark counting the ones the arrows point to. It looked fine until i tightened down the exhaust cam cap that sits up and the chain went loose on top
@@Xempt_One hi, it's 18 pins not links across the two top marks but make sure the chain is tight on the front side of the engine when you place the chain on the front cam, then place the chain on the rear cam. It should then be 18 pins anyway, but count the pins to the second mark on the rear cam. The cam tensioner will then take up the slack in the chain.
Good stuff, i broke the bolt/screw that connects the 19mm to the pickup. My engine is seized and i was trying to see if i could turn it over, got a little over zealous and broke the bad boy off. Do you think I can remove the timing cover/clutch plate and put in a replacement??
Hiya, if you've broken the head off the bolt it'll need to be removed, it's one long bolt that holds this in place. Can't remember if it's left or right hand thread?

Lifesaver. Thanks for the info
Glad to have helped. This year of the changed timing points isn't covered much. 👍
