👍👍👍👍 Appreciated and enjoyed this tutorial. It's good, and difficult, to find folks who know this material well and can actually teach it to others - thank you. Today I learned the Ctrl-Shit-T command for the shader editor, allowing for the 'principle texture setup'. Before this I had no idea it existed. Now, I can save a lot of time producing my materials. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I can say probably one of the best that I have come across. Is there an easy way to add banks to the roads? Using this method to make a race track and was curious if there was a way to add a bank to the curve or if you have to apply the modifiers and then manually bank the road.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad the video was helpful. As you already found out, a curve can be tilted at the control points in the edit mode and the road plane tilts with it thus giving the banking effect.
very nice tutorial, thank you! I would like to ask how should I proceed or if you can make a tutorial in which I have a bifurcation / y - shaped road, thank you
Thank you so much. I did a quick test and here's how I did it. I added a curve as path (curve 1). I added another curve as path (curve 2) where the first control point of curve 2 is at the y junction. So now I have 2 curves shaped in the form of y. Now I add 2 planes and use array and curve modifier as usual but this time for plane 1, I use curve 1, and for plane 2, I use curve 2. Now I should roughly see the road bifurcating. I apply all the modifiers and join the 2 planes (Ctrl J) to get the road bifurcating mesh. Hope this helps. If we add sidewalks as well, we might need to merge few vertices but this is the general idea. I'm on discord if you need more help, the details are on the about page of the channel.
At 18:02 when you bevel the edge of the sidewalk. My bevel just slides along the sidewalk itself. It doesn't actually bevel it. Can this be fixed or is it something I done. Sure I'll move on to the junction video anyway. Thanks for this. Very helpful
I typically use 4k textures. If blurred, try changing scale in the mapping node. If the textures are distorted, then uv unwrapping might need to be adjusted. Hope this helps.
I haven’t gotten to it yet. However in my animations, I use addons such as City Road Builder and Urbaniac for road networks and intersections. These addons are available on Blender Market.
Great tutorial! Especially for the curve deformation radius tip!!!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Honestly, so far this is the best blender tutorial I've come across on UA-cam
That’s awesome. Thank you so much!

Thank you.
Thank you so much. I’m glad my tutorials are helpful and I’ll continue to share my Blender knowledge as I explore.
Excellent work; many thanks for this, my Friend!! 😊
Thank you so much! 🙂
THANK YOU SIR🫡🫡🤍
thanks for sharing
You're welcome!

found the tilt under the contextual menu.

@@blendercinematic thank you! I sent you a request on Discord, thank you very much
You’re very welcome!
I luv u so much ,u save me
🙂 Thank you so much!
Bevel almost never works for me. In the sidewalk it just creates segments along the face.
Thank you sir
You are welcome!
The sidewalk texture only applyies for the right side of the road, how can I fix this
Maybe uv unwrapping needs to be done to include both sides of the road.
thanks

After pressing Ctrl B to start the bevel, scroll the mouse wheel to add segments. Then the bevel should be visible. Hope this helps.
Hello, I'm following along currently and when I load the sidewalk paving texture it is blurred/distorted. can I do something to make it load properly?
I typically use 4k textures. If blurred, try changing scale in the mapping node. If the textures are distorted, then uv unwrapping might need to be adjusted. Hope this helps.
a single road is pretty easy to make but what about road network with intersections?
I haven’t gotten to it yet. However in my animations, I use addons such as City Road Builder and Urbaniac for road networks and intersections. These addons are available on Blender Market.
wow
Thank you!
How can I create intersections with this system?
I updated the video description with a link to the road intersections tutorial. Hope that helps.
4:02 what do i do if shift+control+T doesn’t work?
Please enable the node wrangler addon that comes with blender in edit preferences.
Why does node not find it when I type it?
Node wrangler addon needs to be enabled in preferences.
when u r teaching something dont use shortcuts try tp explain each thing
I hear you. I feel the same way when I’m learning new things and some shortcuts are thrown in the way. I’ll try to be more mindful. Thank you.
