Hi once we have created a macro do the spells need to be on our hotbar? Or can we leave them in the knowledge book? Plus is it possible to create a macro for your heroic opportunity spell. Ta

once added to a macro spells can be left in the knowledge book (they do not need to be in your hotbars) the only spells other than macros in your hotbars are ones you use at will for example. 'Resurrection spells'. Your Heroic Opportunity Should Always Be In Your #1 Macro

Hello quick question about macros. I thought that macros worked off the first ability available and the last one then if you hit it next it will go to next available and the last one like it only does two abilities then you have to hit it again, is this correct? Also would it be wise to put in a cancel ability macro to cancel the current spell you are casting incase you needed to do something else more important to save to group for instance?

Sorry, i don't quite understand your question. the abilities you want to use will need to be in your macro. you can find them by pressing K on your keyboard. you will then need to press the macro repeatedly. the best way to do this is to place your macros on the hotbars labeled 1, 2, 3, and maybe 4.
if this wasn't helpful please let me know in detail what your problem is and ill be glad to help :)

also to cancel ability you can just press esc. on your key board. although if its more comfortable for you you can make a button just for this

@@TheNeonKingCOE sorry if I wasn't clear in my response. What I was trying to say is that if you put multiple abilities into one macro it will cast the first and last ability the first time you use it then next time you use it it will either go to the first one or next one and wait for the last one to be ready to cast again I believe. Please let me know if that is the way it works.

@@clkramer6168 So the rule is that EQ2 will cast the first available spell in the list, but then it casts the last spell EVERY time.
so assuming your timer is still running on your first ability when you activate your macro, the next spell on the list will go off, followed by the last spell
although the macro system is exactly consistent
i found alot of info here isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4811
you can also test your macro by pressing the test button on it and keep it up while in combat to test the rotation
      Hope that helps..

change is a good thing learn that or get left behind. this isnt lazy its a superior style of gaming. try to beat anyone with macros, without you will always lose. thus you will always be weak ;)
