Unless it was of the variety refitted for war that was better armed and could run on less crew I doubt it would last long, for that type of environment it was under gunned, over sized, and would have required vastly larger amounts of supplies to maintain than intrepid class. Indeed the standard galaxy class seems to get its arse handed to it with some alarming regularity.
I think Voyager was a much more advanced ship with better shields and speed where as the Galaxy Class was kind of the glass jaw of Starfleet, a absolute unit interms of fire power but once those shields go down it tended to fold pretty quickly. Now if it was a Soverign class yeah most of the encounters Voyager wouldnt have happened as a quick scan would have shown how outmatched most ships would be as the Soverign class was the closest to an actual warship Starfleet ever got
I feel like generally the galaxy class would have fared much better as a generational ship if it came down to that, being so much larger with significantly more room. I get the impression it has stronger weapons and decent shields compared to voyager, but galaxy class can only go to warp 9.5 I think, so that 75 year trip voyager was supposed to have could have been like a 90 year trip to a galaxy class. Galaxy class probably whoops the Kazon pretty bad, with the rest of the delta quadrant it probably would have handled them similarly as well as voyager did. I wonder if a galaxy class could handle a cloaking device easier and avoid more conflict.
That wouldn't be smart on Voyager's part. Even if Voyager can easily destroy a single Numeri ship on its own, it wouldn't be wise to do so unless you had very good reason. By showing mercy to the Numeri and giving them peaceful options, Voyager is basically saying: We're only your enemy if you make us one. If they had just destroyed the Numeri ships, they might decide to bring an armada to attack Voyager and then what? Voyager is completely alone in this Quadrant. They don't have any back up or any allies, so they need to carefully consider who they piss off and for what reason. By disabling the Numeri ships, instead of destroying them they're showing their good intentions and willingness to act diplomatic rather then immediately resorting to warfare, which in turn gives the Numeri more reason to return the favor, should Voyager ever need it. With some species, like the Kazon, violence is the only answer because they aren't willing to negotiate. With a species like the Borg, running is the best answer because they can't beat them in a fight and they definitely can't negotiate with them. But with a race like the Numeri, who can be reasoned with and brought to mutual understanding, diplomacy was the best course of action.

Most likely Engineering cut the power to the engines, having control of the ship's power grid. The Helm generally only control flight trajectory and speed, meaning that all the Helmsman could do from the Helm is slow the ship to a stop, leaving the impulse engines operational, and in this case, detectable by the Numeri's sensors. In all likelihood, Engineering cut the power to the Impulse Engines to further convince the Numeri that Voyager had sustained heavy damage, as no power to a system could insinuate the Numeri landed a direct hit on Voyager, which would be detectable on sensors, and further enforcing the false narrative that Chakotay's Maquis tactic would portray.

the Intrepid Class is a deep space exploration vessel (the Nova class Equinox is also a science vessel but not designed for deep space), the type Sisko might have used to explore the Gamma Quadrant. The Voyager is still armed as well as a ship of its size can be, and Starfleet vessels are mostly well armed ships that can fight with the best of them; an actual science vessel would be partly crewed by civilians, such as the Oberth class which had more labs than usual. Voyager was not really a science ship in that sense, although the adaptations made to it by the Borg Drone as well as the Astrometrics lab and the Delta Flyer made it the ideal exploration ship. The Admiral Janeway upgrades made it even more powerful and versatile.
@The Specialist Excatly my thoughts. And if there is a Captain like Picard or Sisko on the Bridge, most of the fights against the Kazon wouldn't have dealt so much damage on the ship and his crew
I love how trekkies make up their own stupid lore, Voyager was a long range vessel designed for combat performance stated on the Show in the episode the Thaw. Stop making up shit, Voyager is way more advanced, faster, and more combat oriented than a Galaxy you TNG fanboy.

Two possible reasons: 1.) They didn't want to become involved in the war. Defending themselves by disabling attacking ships is one thing, destroying a vessel would be another. 2.) This was still back when they were playing with limited supplies as a plot point (before someone realized how that idea didn't really work).

delta quadrant, seems to have more advanced tech than alpha. KAZON is an exception, since they just stole the tech from the trabe, and the borg finds them unworthy. Krenim, devore, turei, voth, were very advanced compared to voyager, among numerous species.
lolaz wabby I know but your bog standard species is less advanced than voyager like the talaxians, Kazon, vadwar, numiri etc, but I do agree that the voth, krenim, Borg etc are advanced
lolaz wabby I don’t think the Kremim were ever more advanced than Voyager during the two Year of Hell timelines save possibly for the Timeship itself. Voyager managed to survive both timelines despite several months of Krenim torpedoes going through their shields, and it took relatively short period after finding the right frequency for Voyager to develop an effective defense. I got to say, that 2-parter did show what a resilient ship she truly is.
Voyager was the last star trek I ever watched, captain janeway was a big favourite as was Tim Russ as Tuvok. Although janeway played a powerful female lead, it was never done to denigrate men, she held a wonderful vulnerable but strong personality, the series seemed to end abruptly which was a little disappointing. Since then everything became so woke it wasn't worth watching anymore, like star wars I just gave up on it.
I wish you could put your finger on just exactly when Voyager knew they could just put the show on autopilot and not worry about making a quality show. Maybe when 7:of. 9 came on with skin tight uniforms. Maybe when they stopped using Nelix as a scout and made him the fool cook and to poke at Touvak. Both characters could be killed off any nobody cared.
This show did have it's moments
Jekotay “There’s an old trick we used on the reservations” 😂
Cool scene
4:00 slight hint of the TNG theme?
A little hint, like a sip of picard's bath water
I wish I can see full shows of VOYAGER!
It is available on Netflix if you have it.
Get the DVD boxes and you certainly can! Should not be too hard!
Rusty S it’s on Netflix
It's also available on Amazon prime if you have that.
It's on every night at 10pm central time on h&I
Low orbit, high orbit? What are they orbiting?
An orbit.
Nice upload.
Thank you very much. :)
I feel like voyager didn't need rely on playing injured. She was more than capablele of stopping those 2 ships
Janeway should have cut one of those ships in half and moved along.
'Engage impulse engines.'
Why did he have to announce that as if he was commanding them to do it? He was at the helm. That was his role.
He also has to report to the Captain everything he does
3:40 40 tons? lol
She sent them prepared for the worst! Loved his face when she told him.
That compound must be incredibly dense because it looked like there was nothing in the shuttle. Where could they put 40 tons of the stuff unless if it wasn't?
Maybe it is the expression for 'Megatons' ( megatons is the explosion force)
Might be Janeway's version of the Corbomite maneuver...
That's how voyager should have hammered the vadwar quick an its over
Buddy Addis the vaadwar were about 39 ships and voyager was firing phasers all over plus trying to ascend into orbit to go to warp!!
@@amc6508 wouldn't've happened if the Turei weren't being such dickheads themselves and wouldn't let Voyager use the Underspace...I'm sure if they weren't being dicks they could've worked out some kind of trade for usage of the Underspace to get home...but i guess the series would've been short-lived had that happened
what sucked, is they always shoot to disable. No matter what the enemy has done, even killing crew, it's always a walk away at the end.
Remember Janeway don't like bullies!
Voy and ds9 were the best
They would know they are still dangerous and keep firing because there ship would detect the phaser lock
There is nothing new under the 🌞
voyager is bigger, more heavily armed and armored. why would they need to resort to tricks?
because this was a stupid show.
Why put your own crew and ship at risk when you don't have to?
If they could beam people out, why not just beam in a photon torpedo?
Two possible reasons:
1.) They didn't want to become involved in the war. Defending themselves by disabling attacking ships is one thing, destroying a vessel would be another.
2.) This was still back when they were playing with limited supplies as a plot point (before someone realized how that idea didn't really work).
Good job I wasnt the Captain of a starship trapped in the Delta quadrant! For a start I would have wiped out the Kazon!
Neelix gives horrible advice. They are already under attack, but he says “is a standard tactic”. Why didn’t Janeway gave Neelix to the next species she encountered? Everybody happy.

😂
Pretty much every species in the delta quadrant has shit technology (with the exception of 8472, hirogen and Borg)
And the Borg
Spacegoat92 voyager uses lots of recolored ships such as the numiri that's as u say a recolored bajoran cruiser, also in the episode in season 7 the steakth ship that Harry Kim takes charge of is a recolored version of chakotays maqui ship
delta quadrant, seems to have more advanced tech than alpha.
Who you shootin at mofo?
The whole star fleet vs Makee never went anywhere, and okie somebody said, you never felt they were abandoned in the gamma quadrant with unlimited shuttle crafts
Boy Voyager actually disabled a couple small ships .. Amazing
