      Well Its not just Satan or the Adversary (his army of minions) for God told me in my PB blessing that the enmity is personal between just me and Lucifer . The Prince of Darkness Himself their Leader their Dark Lord God said to me that Lucifer his enemy would be following me around in this life like a Relentless Little Bloodhound harassing, getting into my ear and using his dark powers to afflict the body because hes upset at me for coming into this Church and for getting involved in accelerating the work of the dead... Two things I did that really upset the Prince. And the third thing he Lucifer will never forgive me for was the council's decision in the pre-earth life.

      @@lancemerrill6390 Proof? Are you kidding me, God said to me in my PB blessing after I had joined the church that Lucifer Himself the Prince would be personally going out of his way to track me from then on and come in himself to harass and I thought What !! how can God say I have the devil's attention. But I was actively involved in genealogy and family history

    Brother Merrill, I love your authenticity in sharing these faith promoting stories. I found the church when I was 20 after a somewhat wild life and a NDE. Here is a brief version of that story. Enjoy!
    I was raised a Lutheran by a Catholic father and Lutheran mother who rarely attended any church. They however made sure my brother, sister and I were sent to church. I'm forever grateful for parents who cared enough to see that I got some religious training in my youth. I'm grateful to the Lutheran church for introducing me to Jesus Christ the Son of God. By the prayer of faith and the witness of the Holy Ghost I learned as a child that Jesus is the true Son of God who lives today as a resurrected being in heaven with God the Father. I know that he atoned for the sins of all mankind on the cross and opened the way for the resurrection and salvation of all men. In my early teens I questioned my parents, church and leaders on their authority and knowledge. I rebelled against society and became a hippie looking for love in all the wrong places and doing all the wrong things. However, God in his great mercy chose to chasen and awaken me to the error of my ways. This happened at Woodstock 1969(when I was 19) during a near death experience while I was abusing my body with those bad things of the day. I found myself in hell tormented by all my sins and then reflected upon my childhood belief in Jesus Christ and called upon his name to save me. He heard my voice and delivered me back to life. I was born again and made a promise that day to change my life and go and do what the Lord wanted me to do. He led me by the Bible and the Holy Spirit over the next nine months to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where I was baptized in the Atlantic Ocean at Smith Point Fire Island, NY on June 27th 1970. I know by personal revelation and the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Savior of all mankind and He has led me to the prophet Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon and the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which I know to be true by the power of the Holy Ghost. Please seek, read, ponder and pray concerning these things and you too can know they are true by the power of the Holy Ghost I pray in name of Jesus Christ, amen!

      I have an NDEs, visions, and dreams -- I consider them all different, but in the same category. But I've also died and gone to heaven -- it was so different from the others! (Then again, so was my vision of going to heaven, it was more profound and overwhelming than the others) Everything I saw and witnessed in going to God can be found in the Holy Bible, including the fact that many of my loved ones who had died were not there. Many of them were good people, lived good lives, and thought that they would get to heaven through good works. Not one of them was there. Had I found this out while here on Earth, I would have been shocked! But in heaven I knew that Jesus did not have what they wanted, they never knew Him, never truly came to Christ.
      The Book of Mormon contains a lot of the Holy Bible, usually out of context. But even out of context, the word of God can work. As for the LDS church, which differs from the BoM...well, let me put it this way. How can the Holy Ghost approve of another Christ, another gospel? I know that it's possible for someone to be in the LDS, and accept the Christ of God, but why then remain in the LDS? They are contrary.
      The preaching of the gospel of the cross is mandatory for all Christians, because that is what Christianity is. The LDS is similar to Catholicism in that it is a mixture of truth and paganism.

    When I was a child of about eight years old my father was a stake missionary in the old St. Joseph Stake of Arizona ( he was a Seventy at the time). Dad took me with him to a meeting that was held in the small branch in San Carlos, AZ (about 70 miles away) on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. Brother Hugh B. Brown was the speaker at that night time meeting. I never forgot the experience of listening to him talk to the natives in that meeting. He talked about a bush being cut down and almost destroyed, but with water and care the bush came back to life. Of course he was talking about the Lamanites being cut off from the Lord, but now they were coming back to life, just like the bush. I know I have forgotten much of the content of his talk, but I did remember the part about the bush. I am grateful for the experience and consequently Brother Brown has always been special to me.

    When Jesus took me Home to God the first time, all my relatives who were in Christ were there, but most of my favorite and near relatives were not. They put their trust in other things, some in good works and in being a good person, NOT ONE of those relatives were there. But every single one who had put their trust in the Lord were young, beautiful, glowing, and full of peace and joy. So strange to see those elderly relatives as children.
    Yesterday, a troubled young man who looked like he was full of hate and anger came to the Temple Lot and prayed. I figured that I would talk to him, if God gave me an opportunity, but He didn't. As I was going home, our paths crossed. The young man tore me up one side and down the other, which was expected -- and he really didn't like my cross. So I asked him, because of his complaints, "Are you LDS?"
    That set him off again, and he complained about the 11 churches in the area, especially about them sharing the Gospel of Christ. So I asked him, "Do you really think it is wise to judge everyone, condemning them for sharing the holy gospel?" Again he ranted, but I calmly rephrased the question and asked him again, adding, "and by what right do you think you have to judge them?" That calmed him down.
    I told him the gospel of Christ, but he wouldn't listen, complaining as the LDS does about the cross. But I said to him (summarizing), "No one has a God like we do, a God who is willing to come to us as a man, live a perfect life for us in our stead, and die in agony on the cross, becoming sin for us so that we might live." He tried fussing again, but I said again, "Think about it, no one has a God like our God, one who is willing to die on the cross for us and take away our sins because He loves us, not even the LDS has a God like that." This calmed him down a lot.
    We talked a while, and I got to tell him of the things God has done for us, and for me personally, and we ended up crying. He could literally see what God had done. His anger and hate gone, he offered to buy me lunch (which I politely declined). He left a changed young man, perhaps I'll see him again.

      Thank you for sharing your experience. We are all brothers and sisters in our Savior Jesus Christ. As LDS people we don't wear crosses typically, yet this is more because we choose to worship the Living, Resurrected Christ, than anything is wrong with wearing one. I always feel a brotherhood when I talk to someone wearing a cross. They are trying to express their belief in our Savior Jesus Christ. Thanks for watching.

      @@lancemerrill6390 I think it's everyone's own personal choice, if they love God or not.
      Jesus commands us to take up our cross daily and to follow Him, and Christianity, the gospel of Christ, is called the "preaching of the cross".
      I think what's happening is that we need to watch out that we do not become the "enemies of the cross of Christ:", we all need to chose Christ. Because "he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."
      ALSO: I greatly appreciate what you are trying to do. All I get from the LDS side of things is terrible! And this let's me know that not everyone in the LDS is like that.

    • @lancemerrill6390
      @lancemerrill6390  4 місяці тому +2

      I think most of the references you are giving are from the Apostle Paul not specifically the Savior. Paul referred to our burdens as our cross to bear. He subsequently refers to our burdens, which we lay at the feet of the Savior, as our cross to bear. He specifically refers to some of his own lingering faults as his cross to bear. However I feel that taking Christ's burden on me and His name is shown in my Charity and emulation of Christ and His counsel to Love God and Love our fellow man.

    • @ts-900
      @ts-900 4 місяці тому +1

      @@lancemerrill6390 I'm willing to accept your claims. I think Paul was just explaining some of what Jesus said.
      For instance, Jesus said, "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? ."
      Jesus said, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple."

      Yes the Savior referenced taking up the cross several times in the 4 gospels. However I choose to think he was referring to the only time on this earth He displayed being subject to the flesh, not a piece of jewelry. Love you brother.
