Sam Brown -- Stop :: Lyrics ::Stop!" is a song by the English female singer-songwriter Sam Brown, written by Brown, Gregg Sutton, and Bruce Brody. It appears on her debut album of the same name.
"Stop!" only reached number 42 in the UK charts when it was first released. The follow-up single from the same album "This Feeling", faired even worse peaking at 91. However, "Stop!" was re-released in 1989 and reached number 4, becoming Brown's biggest hit to date, and spending 12 weeks on charts. It was also subsequently a hit in eleven other countries and was responsible for bringing Brown to greater public attention. Additionally, it was the 35th best-selling single of 1989 in the UK....

Her voice was incredible as is her range.

One of the greatest songs of the 80s
OMG 1988 the year of my military service..i remember her so well..i completely fell in love with her beauty and her voice...35 years later i cannot believe how fast the time is gone..
Everything about this is excellent, her range is better than any female singer in last 25 years
Saw Sam in Melbourne, Australia in late 80's, early 90's. Brilliant.
How she never came to be a major, major star is totally beyond me.... Superb voice and looks.... I'm baffled
Well, she lost her voice which was definitely a problem, but even before that, I think she was a little out of sync with the industry. 20 years later, the soul chanteuse sound was in with Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Duffy, but I think Sam was just active at the wrong time.
