I think because the technology didn't allow to overproduce a song with prerecorded samples. People had to play all the instrumental parts and record them over and over to layer them over the melody.

It was at number 1 for an eternity here in the UK. It really is a great song, and gets it's message across far more effectively than any of the mindless PC nonsense happening today. Sadly it was the only real success story En Vogue had over here. A few of their other songs were reasonably well known because they were in movies - but that was it. They vanished from the charts after this song and only get mentioned now on a handful of music channels when a 90's recap must be produced.
Funky Divas was (and is to this day) one of the best albums I've ever owned! Their voices meld so beautifully together. They are very, very underrated. Love En Vogue!

I came straight here after hearing Beyoncé’s new “country” music, I get that she’s going in a different genre, but it stills sounds too pop and R&B. Now En Vogue definitely knew how to do it right. This is nothing like there soul and R&B roots, it’s solid rock and it hits every time.

The early 90's were such a golden era for music, you could find something amazing in pretty much any genre, and these fierce ladies were definitely a part of that... UA-cam kinda rocks sometimes when my ears get nostalgic.

There was not a single girl group that made a name for themselves and stayed true as En Vogue! From the day they exploded onto the scene right up until today they are everything that the name 'Vogue' stands for. They never wavered left or right. It was at number 1 for an eternity here in the UK. It really is a great song, and gets it's message across far more effectively than any of the mindless PC nonsense happening today.
Sadly it was the only real success story En Vogue had over here. A few of their other songs were reasonably well known because they were in movies - but that was it. They vanished from the charts after this song and only get mentioned now on a handful of music channels when a 90's recap must be produced.
Funky Divas was (and is to this day) one of the best albums I've ever owned! Their voices meld so beautifully together. They are very, very underrated. Love En Vogue!

I came straight here after hearing Beyoncé’s new “country” music, I get that she’s going in a different genre, but it stills sounds too pop and R&B. Now En Vogue definitely knew how to do it right. This is nothing like there soul and R&B roots, it’s solid rock and it hits every time.

One of my favorite songs by En Vogue! Its so edgy but has a great message to it and I love the unique blend of R&B and heavy metal! En Vogue are legends they were all beautiful, immensely talented and gave us so many classic songs throughout the '90s! We will never have another era of R&B as good as the '90s ever again!

Incredible group I will always be forever grateful to have lived in an era graced by their regal beauty and powerhouse vocals.

I love everything about this video! The costumes, hair, makeup, choreography, the song, the vocals, etc. etc. etc. This is one of those videos that have absolutely no imperfections. (Side note: those women worked the hell out of that runway.)

I decided to refresh my memory with En Vogue. I remember my parents got this sick stereo system for the living room and always bought the latest tapes. En Vogue is just it. All of it. This song gave me goosebumps just like it did in the 90s.
