Recently did my 2008 Saturn aura 3.5 XE V6 same engine and transmission paid $900 for the car almost 3 years ago from a desperate college student used the filter from autozone fluid was Valvoline Maxlife and Lucas transmission fix now it acts like a CVT takes of line a sling shot in first gear when first got it I knew something wasn’t right it was shifting poorly transmission had never been serviced since the car left the factory the filter was clogged and fluid was burnt black my god nice car was poorly maintained now it’s still my daily driver and shifts and runs like a sewing machine
I had a question about my transmission before I perform this service. The reason why I wanted to do the service is because my car has no reverse gear, everything else works fine. Is there where I should start 90k miles 2009 GTX
if you have no reverse changing the filter wont fix this issue it will need to be diaged for a internal issue either in the valve body or the reverse section of the transmission
My 06 2.4L just broke 180k. Is this something you'd recommend doing before I break 200k? I like this car and want it to last as long as possible. What did you use to clean the pan and transmission?
what can this help out mines not leaking but just hit 200xxx runs great but wanting to change out for servicing and do you have a video on changing brake master cylinder 2005 g6 base
There no way to check, I have the 2007 3.5 l and it doesn’t even have a dip stick , you would have to drain it and measure how much you have . I’m gonna have to do that to make sure I have enough since I recently changed mine and make sure it’s not leaking 🤦🏽♂️
The pour spout is kind of hidden. There is no dipstick on the 2007. The way you check the fluid level on the 07 is with a plug bolt on the transmission. Its towards the front. If fluid doesnt come out the car is low on fluid. Add some till it comes out the hole.. i just did my transmission cooler lines. Thats how I figured that out. Good luck
below the airbox on the top part of the trans theres a red cap sometimes its black thats where you fill it on the left side of the trans theres a bolt you pull when the fluid comes out of there its full
@@uglyhp8225 Mine is a 2007 and has a dip stick behind the engine. Lucky me I guess! It is the 3.9L convertible though that might make a difference. I also have a lovely extra chunk of metal to support the frame due to this. Not bad to do just more steps. My car has just over 100,000 on it and the other day on a 5 min drive the trans just started spinning without engaging. I am pretty sure it is the lines right next to the filter because Reverse and Manual (that is how I got it home) still work. Thus watching your video making sure it is the same as the other cars I used to do this to. Yep pretty much the same.... one would think after 25 or 30 years someone would take this dirty time consuming job and make it better for the mechanic to do. Nope!
I have a Pontiac G6 2006 but it’s a 4 cylinder engine &my transmission is jerking when I drive Idk what to do ive put the Dex 6 in there it’s still jerking
I know this shop that will change fluid and filter for 50 dollars not bad if you ask me. Now if your fluid is burnt or no longer red they won't change it.
so these models dont have a dipstick they have a fill level plug by the passenger axle but if you remove the pan and add the pan removal fill amount thats printed on the box your filter came in 95% of the time its right on the money
@@uglyhp8225 Just keep in mind this is not a "flush". i flush will not remove all the fluid. you must take it to a gm or equivalent dealership to get your moneys worth for a transmission flush. Dealerships have the correct machines to perform a flush

i dont have one on the master cylinder yet but changing the filter and fluid will keep you from having to replace the trans
Iv put 120.000 km on my g6 never changed the oil/ oil filter, trans fluid or trans fliter lol. Think its time for a service

there is no dipstick it has a fill spot and a fluid check hole by the axle
