that is a fact. he does great work although it was odd he had a run of "this shouldn't take long" repairs that ended up he would have been better off taking the radiator cap and rolling another chasis under it. happens to all of us at some point... but his run about whooped him it seemed.
Looks like the shop is quite a bit neater also! Gotta love that.

I can't say much tho, I've done the exact same to get to a bolt that was halfway blocked for i think it was an idler pulley in one of my vehicles. Only issue i had was the evap coil blew out a few years later and it wasn't worth ripping the dash apart to fix it. nothing like a $500 beater that lasts several years LOL
Check the cabin air filters. You would be surprised at the air flow difference.

I like that Ray shows us the real image of everyday real life cars that are not just a couple of years old and have multiple issues. People can’t afford to get new cars every couple of years due to the tough times we have today. Not everyone has the money to fix everything at once and do the best they can. Ray doesn’t back down from the challenge to keep these cars on the road even if only for a couple more years.

If nothing else it gives you an appreciation of what your mechanic is / should be doing and why things can cost what they do
Sometimes the fact that the customer hands you the part that is to be replaced, tells you more than a written statement... Somebody did a less than genius thing

I try to include customer states "I dun effed up and here's what I think I did wrong."
At least give a starting place and a better chance that I don't get sent packing.

Good and mostly simple fix but my guess is that hose got discombobulated by the same person that provided you with the replacement part. LOL

so now we know why the last one broke, it got "flexed"
Never say something like "That shouldn't be too much trouble." It's guaranteed to cause something to go afoul and make things much harder than they otherwise would have been.
It's like a firefighter saying, "It's quiet tonight." or anyone saying, "What's the worst that can happen?"
Kinda like, "This should be an easy one."
Or even like "How hard can it be?"

As soon as you tightened that sensor with one hand onto the tube at the bench, I knew it was a bad move. In doing that you bent the the tube out of shape and that's why you needed to bend it back to shape during the install. LOL!

Throttle plate exists.. If it was that easy to contaminate the intake, then this car deserves to be dead.
@@zerializing as someone who has had to repair the damage caused by this action mate I feel the need to be cautious. The throttle plate always has a small gap top and bottom and I agree the leaves wouldn't get through but the grit will! Happy May!!!!!!!! UK Pete.

34:23 those quick connects slip on with less effort if you put a tiny bit of refrigerant oil on the o-rings first. By muscling them in you run the risk of rolling them out of their bore during installation and tearing them.
Ray always talks about "surface adhesion" and how tough it can be to get a hose off.
Hint: A very thin layer of silicone break grease destroys surface adhesion from forming on rubber or plastic.
Also, I'm big on anti-seize for rusted bolts and screws. Let them back off...... if they can.
@@Jay.Kellett I'm sold on that sillycon grease stuff. Also mechanics jelly, AKA petroleum jelly and liquid wrench. One squirt can save hours of removing broken bolts.
But if you put grease on a hose to make it slip on easier, isn’t there a risk it’ll blow off (despite the clamp) once the system is pressurized and subject to vibration from driving?
@@tedjohnson64 The o-rings are to create the seal. The retaining spring prevents it from blowing off. There's nothing wrong with lubing the o-rings. If the hose blows off, it won't be due to lube on the o-rings.
Stressing that line may have cracked or weakened it if the fans were replaced previously.
At end of video, most importantly, don’t forget to remove lumen-producing unit from hood! You’ll need it later! 😊
when you bend things they usually break....so you FORM them and they work
well, look at the bright side... you dont have to discharge the system...
when you tighted the second ac line bolt a black washer flew out. check your video you will see it fly. thats what it looked like maybe it was a old one left their. great job love your videos

seeing the damage, i bet that the hose wasnt fitting in and the previous mechanic did bend it a bit and over time, the fragilized conduit ended up ripping off.

My Montana’s fob would lock but wouldn’t unlock. Pretty sure it’s a relay built into the BCM.
If it's not as cold as it should be check the cabin filter if the system is filled

I was mainly meaning the brake clean thing when I said something the other day but I did hear Eric O saying the tiger thing before you too. I’m sure he got it from Austin Powers also. I did say I wasn’t trying to be a dick too. lol I only said something because you were busting the kids balls about stealing “your” jokes. Before anyone gets butt hurt, it doesn’t mean I don’t like your videos or anything. I give you a 👍🏻everyday.
I had decided one night to check my spark plugs, and ended up pulling a wire out of its socket. Next day I ended up with two new dog bone mounts, an engine mount bracket, six plugs and a new set of wires. Never say it’s going to not take long.

Wish my Montana alerted me when the hood was open. My grille broke apart a couple weeks ago so my hood wasn’t fully latched. It ended up flipping up and smashing my windshield.
That parts bag, with the hanger on it, if opened with a careful slit of the bag, could be recycled into a 'parts display' that could hang by magnets on the shop wall. Parts that aren't great in a storage cabinet, seldom used tools, child unit drawings, schematics or other useful materials can be seen and protected. 😊
I have to say that I enjoy watching your videos I'm not a mechanic but I do fix most things on my cars, this weekend it will be replacing a ac clutch on my 2013 rough I'm sure I will cuss abit lol but you don't loose control on your videos lol keep the videos coming..

Shouldn't the receiver drier be replaced since that pipe had been broken for a while? From what I've always been told, the drier should be replaced anytime they system is opened.

Ok so it's likely to fail again in the same manner. I think someone pulled the cooling package and bent that line to get clearance then you bent the new line in the same place to get it in..

When you chucked it up there it immediately fell behind the hood rubber.

Ray check the upper motor mounts. They go bad allowing engine to rock which breaks the line.

If the line was bent you could see it at the break but it looks clean like a tubing cutter was used.

Customer may have intended to cut the transmission cooler lines to add a separate transmission fluid cooler... And cut the wrong line...
It appears that over zealous flexing may have been the cause of the original hose failure. It probably wouldn't line up either.

just changed my wife’s car cabin filter, it was full of sun flower seeds! do not know when it
happened! it was difficult getting it out of its holder but I was successful, in replacing the filter.
Accusing you of stealing "Tight like a tiger" from Eric has the same energy as a kid seeing Master Chief and saying "The guy from Fortnite"
But to be fair, Goldmember was released 21 years ago. I'm willing to forgive the kid for not seeing that movie
I think he's accused of that since Eric, who is also a car repair channel, uses that all time.. Also, the sound FX for the "brake clean" gimmick is a blatant ripoff of southmain auto I'm pretty sure.

I blame... Captain Freon: the dude that charges a system up to where the compressor is shaking violently, then lines start falling apart from overpressure. Then again, it could have been bent for install as happened here, stressing the joint where tubing meets connecting block fitting.
They fixed leaking exhaust manifold and broke that AC line, i believe that's what happened.

I'm overly critical, but not sure why Job One wouldn't be blowing-off, spraying clean EVERYTHING before starting a R&R job. Less chance of contamination and helluva lot nicer to work on.
