Thank you for the kind remarks. After many efforts, experimentation and redos, I am finally feeling good about my own garden.
In a month, I will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and after that in Santiago Chile, where I will have the privilege of visiting some authentic Japanese Gardens designed by Japanese craftsmen. I will be making videos on them. Then in July next year, I will be in Vancouver, BC and where I plan to visit the Japanese and Chinese gardens there, again with camera in hand. Hopefully next summer or the summer thereafter, I will be able to go to Illinois and visit the Anderson Japanese Garden as well as another one in Chicago. From there, I'll go to Minneapolis and visit the one there. Hopefully I'll be able to get the Frederik Meijer Japanese Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan too. Still haven't toured the gardens in Seattle which are four hours from me. These trips are all in preparation for the big trip to Kyoto in the next year or two-God willing!
So stay tuned. I will have camera in hand the whole time.
      Blessings!

That is wonderful you get to visit some of the best gardens in the world. I belong to koi clubs (AKCA) throughout the country and i often recommend your videos to our members on tips in incorporating Japanese gardens to their koi ponds. We are all inspired especially your tips on pruning in the "Niwaki" style. We are always exited each time you have a new video out for we know it will be informative and beautiful at the same time. Thank you again for sharing your work and knowledge. I pray for your safety as you travel around the world. Take care and have a wonderful and blessed Holidays to you and your family. @@goodnewstreeserviceinc.4394

Lovely, personal garden. I too like the coral bark Japanese maples and have planted a few around my new garden. I will never have the land or expertise to have anything like Portland’s magnificent Japanese garden, which I loved visiting, but I can have some features reminiscent of a Japanese garden. My sister just returned from Japan with her older son who had spent his junior year abroad in Japan. She was impressed at how the gardens relied on foliage from maples, conifers, and the ephemeral blooms of azaleas and other shrubs and trees, not huge borders of annual and perennial flowers. Gardens without winter interest lose the opportunity to see the structure and texture of a serene space.

You mentioned they you don't have the land for a Japanese garden. There are all types of Japanese gardens including extremely small courtyard and atrium gardens that aren't much larger than a large walk-in closet. So get your self some rocks, a small pine or another conifer, and a little water feature to start with. You can add some moss, a lantern and a few small shrubs if you have room, and create an idyllic place of peace and beauty in a tiny space. I watched a video recently where some Japanese craftsman created a full-fledged Japanese garden in the back of a pickup truck-a mobile Japanese garden including a waterfalls and everything and boulders!

@@goodnewstreeserviceinc.4394 Mr Maple in NC supplied me with pinus ‘Sea Urchin,’ and ‘Go Gin,’ plus a few more. I also have 3 October Magic Ruby camellias because I dearly love flowers. For rocks, I have to hire someone since I have arthritis in my lower back. I will get there, but it takes time and at 76 I’m impatient. Gardening teaches patience, a virtue that I learn only with difficulty. My plants are tiny so far. Sorry to whine, but my back hurts today so I can’t garden.

Beautiful garden. I highly recommend hose link to keep your hose hidden.

Thank you for the suggestion. Not a bad idea. My current hose is very heavy duty and stiff. I may need to change to a lighter and more flexible hose to accommodate a hose reel type device. Thank you.
