Great story. Only those in deep pain can understand the pain of others! When you help someone in need when you yourself are struggling God will help you in some form miraculously! There are umpteen number of illegal encroachments with health hazards and public nuisance. Why can't these authorities evict such atrocities instead of troubling poor pavement vendors and people like him who work for nothing but just the minimal food clothing and shelter! Yup, on a serious note. These roadside vendors are ok if they are 1-2. Because if strong actions not taken against them at right time, they will bring their family also on streets, then there relatives too. After some period, some people will start creating problems to people living there.

When cops don't have anything better to do, they resort to such things to get money out of such helpless people.
I've seen people giving bribes(several lakhs)to get a government job. They think that torturing helpless people is their right, since they paid for this shitty job.
If they had courage, they could've started a small business with that bribe money but they're scared and want a safe job where even if someone gets suspended, they'll get half salary for not working.
I've worked for over a decade in private companies and know how disciplined we need to be to keep our job, but the same doesn't apply to govt job. So untill people aren't made to understand that government job isn't a safe haven for lazy people, corruption will only grow.
