I have my devices set up and followed the home kit set up.
I am unable to see it on the home screen but can find it as a hub only with the detectors. Have a missed a step?

Nope, it doesn’t appear as a block in the home app like a bulb does but if you go to the room and look across the top where you see sensors you should see a smoke sensor

Do you know if it will run automations if the internet is down but the WiFi is still up?

Do you know how I can test HomeKit notifications? Pressing the test button doesn't do anything

I think the only way is to burn something! I accidentally set mine off like that and the HomeKit notification works!
