Great job Steven, knowing you this is a well run operation and can’t wait to see it in March 2022. The meat is Amazon from Rangeland Meats in Lacombe Alberta.

Do they have a UA-cam channel? I’d really like to see them doing what they do.

What size bison herd and how many acres do you recommend to start? I've heard 12 head minimum and 50 acres. And do you think you could start by rendting vs owning the land?

Are these 100% bison or do they have cattle DNA?

I just had my first bison (sirloin) steak. Everything he said was true, but at $25/lb. it's definitely a luxury item.

we don't feed our alfalfa, don't like the taste, all grass fed seems to work better for us. European markets may sour this year due to energy costs.

Bison should be reintroduced to all first nations lands and the bison ranchers should donate a few animals to the cause.

We should replace all cattle with bison.

Bah!!! The fat shame is so old. The good stuff is the fat. Come on!!! The fat is the energy. That stuff is important. What does cholesterol do in the body? Well, it builds a brain, it’s the the structure of cells, it’s a fuel. Why do folks think it’s bad? Well in cardiovascular disease study lipids/fat/cholesterol was present at the site of injury in the arteries and cholesterol was on trial ever since, but that court case is done. Cholesterol is free. What it was doing at the site of injury was delivering medical aid to the area. It was an innocent bystander and it got the blame. Look, the most current evolutionary anthropology conclusions have humans as a hyper-carnivore, that is on the spectrum of Mammalian Omnivores, we are on the hyper-carnivore spectrum, meaning our physiology presents more like other hyper-carnivores. If our physiology is frames that way, then it’s highly likely a diet of 70-80% meat is the best for our bodies. Yes, bison is lean. So, of we were to survive on it alone, we would have to crack the bones for marrow, eat the organ fat, and the brain like ancestors did for enough energy. That is the fat and it is mostly the good stuff. Humans didn’t hunt animals without it. We hunted the biggest that provided the most fat, or gathered a lot of fish if the abundance was there. Fat is good!!!
