Cannot wait to see your reaction to the next episode. Everything starts connecting, and imo the dynamics of the writing for the whole show really starts to shine (even beyond how great it's been up to this point). You're going to love it
7:26 is such a genius cut, excellent foreshadowing. The ax splits them clean down the middle. I wonder if that’s something that was decided by Giancarlo, or by the writers
I really like the scene with Mike and his granddaughter. Obviously shows the distance that is growing but this is also the last scene between the three of them in the series.
Shout out to Duran Duran from that opening scene. I love this episode. To me, Howard is one of the most complex, and well written characters in the entire show. We start off unsure, then grow to hate him, and at least for me, at this point, I really like him, and feel for him. His perspective may have started off skewed, but he's really struggling with learning throughout the show. Amazing work.
Kim 's top .. as the kid with the apples all over it... to me shows that the apple didn't fall far from the tree... (Her mother) and btw, such great casting for thos 2 characters in the flashbacks.
As a german myself it always feels kinda surreal seeing my country represented. It always catches me offguard when i hear them talk in my native language. And this forest could literally be the one outside my house. Not creepy at all...
I'm sure people have recommended it already, but as a filmmaker you HAVE to check out Ologicals analyses on this show. He spots so many interesting things and elevates my appreciation of every scene, even something like the intro to this episode with young Kim. Search Axe and Grind Ological, sit back, relax, get your popcorn and snacks
"Kim, you gotta learn when to quit... Damn it! Kim, for the love of god!" LMFAO. Yup. The next two episodes are maybe the best "one-two punch" of the series. Rock on...
My take on Howard's wife was "damn, what did Howard do to get her to act like that around him?" We want to assume Howard's completely innocent because he's such a charming guy but he's also shown to be capable of extreme pettiness. He's far beyond the good/bad dichotomy, as are all the characters in this show.
My best guess is that the deep depression he entered into after Chuck's death didn't help matters at all, not to mention the insane amount of debt he accumulated to buy out Chuck's estate. I can't imagine during those years that he was the man Cheryl married or loved. Problem is, we see so little of his life that it's all conjecture. The only other little bit we know is that Cheryl didn't hate him.
@@jlerrickson I believe the main reason was him accumulating that huge amount of debt. I've seen people theorize that Howard's namaste lifestyle upset her, but I don't think so.
The girl who plays young Kim looks and acts like adult Kim. She obviously did her homework. And the lady who plays Kim's mother? I lost a bet because I swore that was Rhea Seehorn.
Howard really the most tragic character of this show. There have been only a few times where he’s downright mean, and most of it was because of chuck. Dude gave Jimmy so many opportunities to make up but they just use him a scapegoat for their own hatred and problems. Hes like a punching bag for them, they gotta take it out somewhere.
Out of the remaining 7 episodes, 5 of them are in the overall top 10 for the entire series in my BCS ranking. If you thought these were good, just wait. I cannot wait until next week when you react to episode 7.
This show keeps getting more and more intense, especially with Lalo confronting Casper in Germany, since he would know a good deal about what he was building under the laundromat for Gus. Mike and Tyrus having issues is defiantly quite interesting to see, especially considering how they’re both on the same page in Breaking Bad, all the while Mike is making sure his family is being looked over while Lalo is out there. Howard’s reputation on the line as Howard looks over at the pictures his PI brought him as he’s following Jimmy and sees he’s Jimmy is getting a good amount of money from a bank, all the while Jimmy and Kim are getting someone together with the film crew to have someone look like the mediator for the Sandpiper lawsuit as a way to help with their scheme. It was also awesome to see another flashback scene with a young Kim, as we only have two of these scenes, and it also shows us a bit about Kim not only back when she was a teenager, but how these sort of moments would relate back to her when she got older, like with stealing the necklace and earrings while her mom then stole them back for her. Also, this is the first time we get to see Howard’s wife Cheryl and to get a glimpse into his marriage, which isn’t in a good place. We also got Francesca working with Jimmy full time now, which is cool. We get to see how she went from being quite positive and optimistic on the show to how she is in Breaking Bad and since there’s a clear difference between Jimmy McGill and Saul Goodman, I can’t blame her for being so unhappy with all the things he has her doing for him that she’s not comfortable with. I definitely like how she had a hand in how the law office would look initially before it becomes what we all know it to be in Breaking Bad. We also get to see how Jimmy got the card for Ed whenever one needs to disappear and start a new identity, which came from the veterinarian as well as his book of contacts when it comes to the various criminal work he’d get in contact work in Breaking Bad. Then of course the ending where Jimmy sees the mediator at the liquor store and has to call Kim and let her know what’s happening with the guy having a broken arm and to possibly pull the plug on it all the while Kim isn’t going to have it fall apart and doesn’t go to the Santa Fe meeting she has. So many of these storylines are wrapping up as we get closer and closer to the Breaking Bad timeline. It’s great seeing you watch this show, James. This show is one of the best shows ever made. I hope you’re doing well, have a great day man, take care!
How do you not have the common sense to realize this ruins the entire watching experience for him? You have removed any sort of shock or curiosity as you've spelled out exactly when and really what type of thing will happen.
It's so annoying when people do this. I even hate when people say what the best season of a show is. I just want to watch without expectations when I'm watching something for the first time. Nothing worse than someone telling you "the next episode is INSANE" because then you already start making predictions about what's gonna happen that could be so huge, and then it's not as shocking
Cannot wait to see your reaction to the next episode. Everything starts connecting, and imo the dynamics of the writing for the whole show really starts to shine (even beyond how great it's been up to this point). You're going to love it
These next two episodes are like the To'hajiilee and Ozymandias of BCS. Probably the 2 best episodes in my opinion.
rip nick drake he would've loved better call saul
Next episode imo is the best of either series, I cannot wait to see your reaction. Amazing video as always!
I second this. You’re not ready
Lmao. Great episode, but the best. Of both series? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That’s the little black book in breaking bad!!! Spot the vacuum cleaner repair man ?
You also see the book in the opening to Episode 1 of this season as they’re clearing out Saul’s house.
Next episode is one of the most wholesome and feel good episodes in the breaking bad universe
Next episode is all fun and games
Nothing but plain straight talking about what really matters to the heart
😑
7:26 is such a genius cut, excellent foreshadowing. The ax splits them clean down the middle. I wonder if that’s something that was decided by Giancarlo, or by the writers
"If YOU have a problem.. I'm right here." One of the COLDEST lines of the entire Breaking Bad universe lol
We make choices and those choices put us on a road-mike
Start of the show: This Howard guy seems like a douche
Me now: Can he catch a break already?
I really like the scene with Mike and his granddaughter. Obviously shows the distance that is growing but this is also the last scene between the three of them in the series.
The next 3 episodes might be the peak of the BCS/BB universe
Lalo is a menace to society. Even in Germany he's causing chaos.
I think he was in Croatia in this episode
Nice pfp my guy.
Did you peep Howard's wife was played by the same lady on Mr Robot, who's house Darlene took over and accidentally killed
This was the first episode directed by the human meme machine, Gus Fring.
Next episode, you're not ready.
Lalo definitely had plot armor on dealing with Casper

You never know when you’ll need a new dust filter for a Hoover Max Extract Pro model 60.
the scene with franceska is so freaking cute
Great reaction as always bro
12:00 the shot with them together

Seeing comments from 10 months ago is crazy
Cant wait for next week
DUDE I CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK (I'm broke AF so no patreon)
My heart warms hearing you mer derna na na nér ner na to the intro
At the end Kim putting herself on a bad choice road literally

5:30 That’s the thing, Jimmy can’t understand thinking that enough is enough and just quitting. It’s the core of his character.
Oooooh boy, next episode...... I'm just gonna say I can't wait.
"Kim, you gotta learn when to quit... Damn it! Kim, for the love of god!" LMFAO. Yup. The next two episodes are maybe the best "one-two punch" of the series. Rock on...
Germans keep catching strays in this universe. The Madrigal executive who offed himself at the beginning of Breaking Bad season 5 was in Germany.

He knows, these are from almost a year ago.
What? Nothing. He just wants to talk to his lawyer.
@Stumme-40203
He should’ve gotten better lawyers. Just my advice.

yep the vet is out. and kim and jimmy should do the same thing as far going after Howard.. they should stop it.
That's a bad choice road alright
Are you seeing whos directing the episodes?,
