I'm hopeful that a successful coupling has taken place from the time that the two pigs have been together. And she might soon 🙏 start showing signs of nesting .
What a difference working in your barn now versus that shed😲😉 you must be " over the moon" today 😄👍 Clapping your work helps if you don't have that extra set of hands.👍❣️ keep it up Jason
I think those pigs are the cutest! Love the snorts and personality that shows through.... Your farm is so beautiful! It looks like projects just keep developing ? You do great!! Thanks for sharing your journey.
Hi.... Jason and Lorraine and Penelope nice to see you love watching your videos, thank you for showing your video homestead chickens farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🐕🐄🐖🌱🌺🌹🌻🌼🌸🌷🏡🎥👍👍👍
I just found out I can watch this through Roku. So neat not using my phones power up. Thank goodness my son is up to date on this. Turkey roost is nice.
We've got 6 hens at the hospital I work at. There used to be 10 with 2 Tom's. But they wander about 1 mile from here. Some people don't like to stop as the turkeys take a stroll through the main traffic areas. We're right in the main part of the city. I say hi ladies everyday when I see them.
I bought 2x3s for building my chicken tractor just because I have to pull it and drag it on the ground. You're right that the wood doesn't have to be big since birds aren't real heavy. This is cool that you're building something special for your bigger turkeys. You studied industrial design, no wonder you're so good at building things Jason! That looks like Joel Salatin's turkey roost/shelter. I like the shade cloth. I think I would wrap the wood strips with the shade cloth and then anchor them down. Love it Jason. I love the noises turkeys make. Nice, they figured it out. Thanks for this Contreras family!
Love the turkey mobile and so did the turkeys. They gave you their approval by getting on those perched immediately Jason. Well done. Penelope is growing up to be a beautiful daughter and so help full.
Hi Jason, we have the same survival rate of hatchery turkey babies. If you keep a couple of hens and a tom, the hens will hatch out a little brood and they're much more successful at baby raising for us.
Those turkeys Are pretty smart to catch on to the new roosting place on the first day. At first I thought you were going to enclose the shelter, but now I get it. Your Kunes are so big. Do they still like the belly rubs? Penelope and Lorraine are great helpers. Penelope is getting tall. Thriving on the farm. 💜
A block from where i live are wild turkeys for years who live in the woods. I heard you don;t want to eat them, their meat is black, the older they get, it doesn't taste good
Does the guard goose need to be male rather than female or vice versa to properly guard the other birds or animals on any farm?? I like the new shelter. I think education was not wasted on you. You seem to just know what needs are necessary no matter what the build. God Bless.
How do you plan to keep the turkeys in the poultry netting? They are great flyers. I had Blue Slates and Royal Palms last year and they would fly right over any fencing. Their favorite roost was on my pickup truck. They would even stay in the truck bed while I drove it around the yard lol. They also loved to wander over to the neighbor's yard and he was okay with it until they started to roost on his sports car! I ended up selling them after that so I could stay on good terms with my neighbor.
Love the optimism that you’re still calling them “breeder” pigs.
