I am Todd's friend Tyler, I introduced him to smithing, let me say that he is an extremely hard worker and all his vids are 100% real. It is wild to see us going our different paths, He is going to college and I am being sent to the Islands of Kiribati for 2 years. Anyway, that's life, I can't speak for Todd but if I were yall I would pick up a hammer and follow his passion!!
I'm 15 and just starting blacksmithing, I found your channel a couple days ago and you helped me a lot with making tools and how to get started, thank you so much and I wish you luck in college. :)
Hey man don’t you worry, you got to do what you got to do, even though you haven’t been uploading I’m 21 and I’ve been watching your videos and I’ve learned a lot and gotten some great ideas, for example I LITERALLY just made my own first couple rebar chisels and drift tonight and currently have heat treating. So even if you don’t upload for some time don’t lose your passion in it and don’t let life get to you but just know that your videos are still here for people like me to get inspiration from, glad to hear that you’re on a good path for yourself and hope to see some more from you eventually, be it the next couple months or next couple years, best of luck to you and look forward to hearing how school and things go. 👍
Congratulations on 1,000. Subs. Hope to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep forge lit. Keep Making. God Bless.
People and subscribers are on their own journey and timeline as well. I find capturing your potential issues and obstacles within your project is very helpful. Ive notice everyone seems to want a perfect video and in doing some they cut out those challenging parts of the video. 😊 Editing your videos does take time. Keep up the good work.
Hey man! I've just come across your channel 3 months after you posted this so you are likely to start or have already started college and I'd like to wish you the best of luck with your studies. I am from the UK and have just graduated from university from myself and seeing that you have gotten this far into blacksmithing at such a young age is very motivating as it is something I want to someday start doing too. I hope you are able to financially stabilise yourself at some point in order to start making videos again. Studies come first! good luck with it all and I hope to see more of your videos in the future.
Your videos are amazing! It's cool how you could get so far on UA-cam! I've been subscribed to you since like 330 subs. Have a great time in college! Love your vids!
I appreciate it man! You’ve been there from the start, and I appreciate your long time support! I know this response is late but it’s good to see ya around the comment section still!
Man alive it feels so weird seeing you and the other kiddies who were sophomores when I graduated now graduate. I feel old man and not just because of my knees😅😅😅 If you still talk to the squad tell them I said Hi🫡🫡🫡🫡
You need to do what is important to you. Blacksmithing is a fun hobby but in this day and age not a way to make a living. I believe in one of my comments to you I told you that school is important, and it still is. Myself I am going to be 65 years old this year. I have been a metal fabricator, not a Blacksmith, for over 45 years, "smithing" has been something I have been doing for about 12 years now. I always enjoyed your passion for "smithing" and whatever you decide to do with your life is your decision. Good luck to you in the future and if you don't remember me, FOG metal........found on ground...........
this day and age? Don't discourage people from attempting blacksmithing. It is one of the most profitable and enjoyeable careers out there. I have been a smithing for 10 years and it account for the majority of my income, though in fairness not all of it. By contrast, I have two University degrees and I argue post-secondary education is the biggest money and time waster that exists. Hobby or profression, everybody should be blacksmithing.
@@AlexLifeson1985 Not trying to discourage anyone. I've been at it for about a dozen years now myself. I'm glad you are able to make a living at it. I enjoy smithing very much and wish more would take it up. Keep up the good work and I wish you much success.
@@AlexLifeson1985 If I may, do you specialize in any one item, like ornamental work or knife making? I find I enjoy making tongs and tools the most. Next would be ornamental items. I do make knives, but I do not consider myself a knife maker. Thanks.
I found you when you were at like 800 or 900 something subscribers. Congrats for hitting 1K and for graduating high school, which I’m about to do on June 3rd. Good luck on your college journey!
One of my favourite youtubers only posts once a month, once a week is great for starting off to gain subscriber momentum, but its not necessary, you've made a great start and the videos are very good, set up a paypal link and post every month or every 2nd month, you're so close to making some out of this youtube jazz
Maybe I will try to start monetizing more soon! I just want to make sure I am putting out enough content of sufficient quality to make it worth people’s time/money. Thanks for the support, it means a lot!
