@@Catercaterpie One thing that irks me about the series (which I otherwise love) is how Sigma and Wily are basically omnipresent and almost every scheme ties back to them somehow and there's references and bits of lore spanning generations. Yet, they seem really reluctant to tie almost anything else together or reference or allude to anyone/anything else. Even what happened between the X and Zero series isn't all that well explained really outside of "some wars happened and we cured the maverick virus", let alone what happened between the classic series and X! I'm usually a fan of leaving some things unexplained and having mystery, but I think they could have struck a better balance.
Here's a trick if you want to hear the entire Protoman Whistling song, including a part that you may have never heard in your life. If you hold A+Up on the second controller during the entirety of the part where Megaman is walking to the left (that would be from about 0:51 in the video), the song will go on indefinitely, until you release one of the two buttons, then the scene will switch to the credits with the upbeat music.

This is a very sad ending if you think about it. Of course it shows you that Proto Man and Roll are Rock’s siblings. But you are reminded that so were the six bosses in the first game. Because of Wily, Mega Man had to kill some of his family. As well as in MM9.
The most emotional ending of any MegaMan game. The storytelling is so efficient - finishing off ProtoMan's musical motif with the callback to MM1's robots, with so few words. It is *especially* profound under the theory that ProtoMan was the basis of design for Zero, who was the narrative anchor in the MegaMan series for decades to come, and for centuries in-universe.
The greatest ending of the 8 bit era and one of the best in gaming history.
