I will always remember the urge i felt to contact a dear friend and lover of 16 years.We had broken up in a reasonably good way,but it felt unfinished.This was before evryone had a mobile,or was technologically connected. So i had to ring his son to get the number and we spoke,and apilogised for i don't know what.. One week later said son rang and asked "is dad with you?"because there's a policeman on my doorstep telling me dad has been found dead. I was and am still so gratefull to have listened.
