I should also mention it does have a story which involves a vision to build a ship to leave the island and to do that you have to go through the various building tiers, it was okay I guess but nothing ground breaking.

In my opinion I think it would be super chill if your tribe went around taking "tribute" from other little defenseless tribes scattered around the map.
Carrying back their ahem, populace for sacrifice and such.
No real challenging combat just a few primitive tribesmen wholly unprepared for you and them trying to run away and you using that one thrown leg trap weapon to capture them.

Why is the UI in these games always so lacklustre
Probably consoles
developers make it from the kit. graphics are easy to steal as they are already done assets they just buy. for the Ui, they usually do it themselves to save money. It's not easy being a good UX designer.
yeah the UI is pretty grim, looks very messy and doesn't really fit the style of the game. That type of thing breaks immersion for me

Anyother lumberjack simulator... how many games do we need where you cut down trees and try to survive? I don't think the small twists most do on the genre aren't enough and still feels like playing the same game over and over again.

I have so many questions, how does your character understand the tribe? Why don't they already have the buildings built? Why does the fisherman need you to supply him food, doesn't that mean he's a crappy fisherman? I know the game probably doesn't want you to ask those questions but the analytical part of my brain can't help it.
If I have to chop trees, I'm not gonna play it..
I don't understand what's the point in showing the weapon on screen taking 20% of the view if there's not even 1% combat.
I think that's just a hammer for building

Totally agree with Mac. It is a nice game but i refunded it. For me it was boring as hell. But can see why some people live it.
Feels like some obvious elements missing like crafting and exploration. A bit too much hand holding.
