The fact that Aaron, the “secret genius” of the group, has had to use his phone to get to Nate’s house for 105 episodes is mind boggling. You blew it, buddy.
it is pretty crazy how much Nate seems to be more energized and tuned into the podcast since he started dieting. PS. I AM FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH THE PODCAST, all 106 episodes watched! The best "pod" and another great sode.
As a recent geography PhD and new geography professor, this is the episode I’ve been waiting for. If I wrote a comment trying to correct all of the things talked about here I’d have a whole thesis. It was fantastic. I think it’s crazy how many of the students I teach can’t read a map or have no spatial awareness. I even use the west wing clip in the 100 level class I teach to show that there are more ways than one to look at a 3-D world on a 2-D map. In truth, there is no one perfect way to make a map. One problem with the Mercator projection is that it distorts or stretches near the poles- Greenland looks the size of Africa but in reality it is significantly smaller. It’s bad for size comparisons but its great for marine navigation! You can’t get everything perfect on any map though, so things can get weird. Thanks for adding some humor into cartography for me. Maybe I can use clips from this episode in some classes in the future.
1:01:34 The “you blew it buddy” bit was great. I love it when something makes all of them laugh together. There is nothing better than seeing comedians find something funny!
This episode is a great reminder of why I love the podcast. Absolute insanity in the beginning with the map talk, then it rounds out with a great conversation about humanity. Well done fellows.
I’ve listened since the first episode. It’s been a pleasure to watch each person grow funnier, even Nate. Dusty is a great addition, and Nate is the type of “funny mean” I strive to be with those around me. Let’s go folks!
Breathalyzer’s absence has really allowed for the intellect of the podcast to go down. Listening to Aaron try to explain the concept of up and down in space was beyond painful. Still a solid eppisode, you guys never fail to make my Wednesdays a little bit funnier.
When Dusty mentioned 4:20 and Aaron started laughing but Nate was oblivious I was crying laughing, so many great moments in every podcast. Love everything you guys do, keep it up! Can’t wait for Beetlejuice to come back too!
When I was in high school, we had a wrestling tournament with a school who was new to our conference. We had to drive from Atlanta to Rome Georgia. Our coach printed off directions from Mapquest and direction #9 was “Turn on a local road”. That was it. Can’t wait to see you in Charlotte.
It made me really proud to have a Tennessee state education when Nate said “sitted” instead of “Seated” while Aaron was telling his story about making everyone change tables. Let’s go folks!
the dynamic of this show really changes when it's brian presenting facts, nate not understanding and aaron laughing then explaining it versus aaron presenting facts and nate and dusty not understanding anything and aaron trying so hard to explain but nate and dusty are too much to overcome so he just gives up and moves on.
The best part of the episode is Nate wisely advising a new comic to “Punch up” with his jokes only minutes after calling Dusty’s sister a cow. I know this is the type of hypocrisy that led Turr Lur to jumping ship… but I am all in. Keep it up boys!
Holy cow! The discussion of 6 & 12 o’clock as directions was amazing. I’d give ANYTHING to see Aaron read the “Who’s on first?” Bit to Nate and Dusty. That would be unbelievable.
Every week I feel like I relate to Dusty more and more. Why would the perspective ever be that you're standing on the clock with the 6 behind you??? The whole clock conversation was so relatable. Anytime anyone asks me the time and I have to look at my watch and respond quickly I get so anxious and am constantly worried I'm going to say the wrong time. I'm basically like Nate counting the numbers under my breath (but with the worried expression of Breakfast). Don't get me started on the clocks that don't really have the numbers on them! The fact people can read those quickly blows my mind. And Nate, the idea of Dusty using his computer from behind a cardboard cutout had me dying with laughter. This was a great way to start my day!
Let’s go folks. While Bohemian Rhapsody is gone I would like to bring his music career to attention, that is all thank you Nate, Aaron, Basket Case, and Dusty for making every Wednesday worth waking up for.
I have listened to every one of these episodes and this one is the first one that I was listening to and stopped the podcast til I could get home and watch this go down. From the burger discussion, to standing on the clock, to the pain and absolute despair on Aaron's face discussing 'north' .... I mean, whoa seahorsie, this was the best.
Favorite quote: "Cause you don't have carfax for cows" Also, I feel like the way Nate ends his podcasts is the same way he says goodbye to his grandma on the phone.
I work in an office and use headphones when I listen to your podcast in my cubicle. I'm brought to tears a lot of times from laughing so hard, but I try to keep it quiet. I'm sure my cubicle neighbors think I'm just quietly sobbing and no one comes to check on me.
I really enjoyed Nate's inspirational talk during the Into the Wild section. He has such a great outlook on life and seems so grounded. And his examples of paying attention to your thoughts, whether negative or too positive leaning towards ego, and grounding yourself is a great example of mindfulness (which can be a really tough skill to master). Nate may not feel smart, but he is definitely very wise!
Aaron, my heart goes out to you for trying to explain how there is no "up" or "down" in space to a man who can't read, and another man who thinks the Earth is flat. My frustration was palpable when Dusty said there IS a right way to look at it. There's the common way of looking at it, but the universe is going to keep operating in the same manner regardless of where you view it. GOLLY!
You guys have talked about hard venues to get a laugh. I am a lawyer and can usually make my friends and clients laugh, so I thought I'd try some comedy while I was in Court. It wasn't a very serious hearing that day, so I started my opening statement to the judge with a joke. She stared at me with such a confused look. The court reporter had an even more confused look. like she was wondering if she should put "crickets chirping" in the transcript.
I so enjoy every episode. Today I was prepping for vacation and had a lot of baking to do. Y'all kept me laughing and entertained the entire time. I've told my husband it's like sitting around with guys I grew up with, shooting the breeze and cracking jokes. Another great episode. 👏🏼👏🏼
At a job I had, I told a young girl to mail a letter to Brooklyn. She angrily asked me, "Brooklyn is a state John! What city in Brooklyn do you want this sent to?!" She was serious. I had to pull up a map to show her where Brooklyn was. I think of her a lot when I tune into this podcast. Now excuse me while I enjoy my 1/1 burger! Thank you for the laughs! JHS
I love how i always learn more about the subject matter the week after (during the comments) and the five minutes before the episode ends. Also, my last name’s pronunciation is now fully dependent on Nate’s pronunciation, have at it.
At first I was like “maps?” What’s going to be funny about maps but this episode was loaded with comedy gold. Aaron’s “dance hall” and “you blew it buddy” stories, Dusty not trusting clocks and roombas, Nate’s funny imagination about what went on in the map industry, or globe industry? I don’t know, I’m a little confused now. Love you guys, keep up the good work!
Hello folks! My wife is alseep while I’m laying in bed doing work and listening. The roomba bit has me in pain while trying to hold in my laughter! Also a 49er fan and agree that Joe Montana deserves his own movie. Love the show, and thanks for the laughs
Aaron, EVERYTHING I know about maps and probably most things is from The West Wing! We're about the same age and it cracks me up that Nate and Dusty and Breakfast give you such a hard time about this show. Snappy dialogue, walking and talking, and feeling smart while watching something is what The West Wing is. They need to get on your level. 🤷♀️
I knew which 100% certainty the moment I saw the title “maps” that Aaron would be talking about that Great West Wing scene on Big Block of Cheese Day. I was really hoping he’d have to explain BBoC Day to Nate, Dusty, and Broctoon. Keep up the good work gents!
When Nate mentioned, in passing, that the "Antarctic Island" was "pretty big" and stretched around to the top of the globe. OMG! Snot Bubbles. Honest to goodness about bubbles.
I have the funniest story about those original GPS devices. I believe we had the Garmin. Many moons ago we were driving to my brother in laws wedding rehearsal. Since we didn’t know the area all that well we borrowed a GPS from my father in law. We put in the address and headed out. As the destination got closer and closer I realized we weren’t anywhere near a Catholic church. Suddenly the device had us turning into a mobile home park. I looked at my husband who was driving and said “now I KNOW we are lost”. He was so convinced in this product and so serious he just kept telling me that no, we were on the right track. About 30 seconds later the device says you have reached your destination. We stop right in the middle of the road and I look around at all the mobile homes around us and as my eyes land on a flamingo just twirling its wings I just started laughing. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard in my entire life.
Aaron's growing frustration with Nate and Dust storm is incredible. Nate doubling down on his ideas makes me think of Michael Scott being told he's wrong and saying that it was "his understanding". #bringbreakfastback
Different map projections are used depending on what you are trying to use the map for. Each map projection tries to minimize the distortion of shape, distance, angle, etc. This is because it's impossible to project the 3D globe into a 2D plane without some kind of distortion. I believe Mercator was used because it made the lines of latitude parallel to each other so it was easier to use when navigating the ocean.
My first trip to TN I used Map Quest to get there. 3rd trip I used a borrowed TomTom for a trip to Fall Creek Falls and it got us lost. Now I use Waze!
I totally relate to the feeling when you see an animal just instinctively stretch throughout the day. I have a cat and any time she gets up after lounging for a while she always stretches out in a way that makes me go “I should do that. Looks like it feels good.” But then I invariably don’t 😢
A fun fact I’ve learned from my zookeeper fiancé, baby elephants don’t learn how to control their trunks until they’re about a year old! One way the start learning is by sucking on their trunk just like human babies suck their thumb!
For my senior trip a few pals and I went down to Myrtle Beach, NC. We drove down from Akron, OH and had printed out the directions on MapQuest to get there. The issue was we didn't have access to a printer in Myrtle Beach so I had to write out the directions to get home by hand! We had two pages of my sloppy hand writing to follow and somehow managed to get back to Akron.
Aaron, “Whats your 20?” is part of a series of codes called the 10 codes. They are used by police and other groups to shorten communications on the radio. 10-4 is the most common and is short for “affirmative”. 10-20 is short for “whats your location”. The codes were developed in the 1930s and modified over the past 50 years. A quick search will provide a list of all the 10 codes used over time.
I’m rewatching the Office while listing to The Office Ladies Podcast. I just rewatched “Survivorman.” 🤣 Can’t believe Michael Scott wandering around for days (hours) on the roadside didn’t come up in this episode. It’s definitely because Brian wasn’t there. Hope you’re feeling better, Breakfast!
I almost took Nate bashing college education personally and then 10 seconds later Dusty said that if you’re small enough you could ride a seahorse. And I remembered what podcast I was listening to.
I live in North Carolina and when I heard that Dusty Slay was coming to Bolivia, NC I thought it sounded like one of the fake “paper towns” you talked about. I’ve never heard of it so I looked it up and saw that the next town over is called Half Hell. So if either are fake it’s probably that one. Love the show! P.S. My husband and I saw Nate’s Raleigh show (on his birthday!) and just about died. We laughed so hard we were sore the next day. Thanks for a terrific date night.
Could we do an episode on Calories or Food? A blooming onion at Outback is over 4k calories but celery is 10 and your body burns that when you eat it. Edit: to provide actual facts, Outback shows 1650 (for 1 serving) blooming onion isn't a single serving.
Hi folks. I used to teach 7th grade Geography in Sumner County. I bought some paper world maps from a local teacher store to use for my classes. Teaching class one day, I discovered the map had the Black Sea where the Baltic Sea should have been. The store wouldn’t refund my money since it wasn’t their fault. Nobody from the map company checked it. Or at least didn’t know it. 🤷🏻♀️
Love this show!! You all need to do an episode on Pliny the Elder! He had some wild ideas and medicinal knowledge. Similar to this podcast he didn’t fact checked anything he wrote. Thank you Nate, Dusty, Aaron, and Barracuda!
Listening to Aaron explain to Nate and Dusty how north and south work and the rotation of the earth felt like watching a scene from the movie Idiocracy. Aaron I don’t know how you were able to keep it together during that conversation. I was crying laughing so hard.
I saw a documentary about animals in Africa and they showed giraffes giving birth. Talk about dropping a long ways. It's like coming out of the birth canal and then falling off a building.
I went outside to turn off the hose on the dark side of the house. There are houses nearby but secluded by trees & shrubs. It’s kind of creepy yet I always forget to get a motion-sensor light. A branch cracks up high & then scurrying. Immediately I start saying, HEY BEAR HEY BEAR … & it got perfectly quiet. It worked! Then the neighbor says really quiet, “you ok, Bare?” Our last name is Barenkamp & Jim has been “Bare” since a kid. Neighbor must have thought my husband got out!!
When I started driving, we actually had the person draw us a map. I was lucky to live in the Metro-Detroit area. Our roads are set up basically North and South, East and West. Like a grid. I lived in South Carolina and the roads were so strange to me. They twist and turn all over the place. Barely goes straight East/West, North/South. I’m already laughing picturing Nate try to read this comment. 🤣
The fact that Aaron, the “secret genius” of the group, has had to use his phone to get to Nate’s house for 105 episodes is mind boggling. You blew it, buddy.
You wrote this comment before I was able to.
@@CalebBaleFinance you blew it buddy
Aaron is somehow the dumbest guy on the podcast 😂
last week he said “substenance” instead of sustenance
And so begins the great Aaron Weber’s fall from grace..
it is pretty crazy how much Nate seems to be more energized and tuned into the podcast since he started dieting.
PS. I AM FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH THE PODCAST, all 106 episodes watched! The best "pod" and another great sode.

I started laughing the minute Aaron said, "wrong fork" - I just knew what was coming.
And he wouldn’t dare say they were so fancy as to use salad forks and dinner forks.
Dusty's laugh at this moment was my favorite... The derision in that comment... "The wrong forks, huh"... That's worth another hundred episodes...
1:01:34 The “you blew it buddy” bit was great. I love it when something makes all of them laugh together. There is nothing better than seeing comedians find something funny!
Nate learning about fractions in real time has me dying!!! Aaron’s face of confusion was gold Jerry!
Aaron, if you’re trying to prove you don’t come from money, YOU BLEW IT BUDDY!
Just when I thought the burger fractions was hilarious, the clock positioning system had me crying with laughter
Clock positioning system > global positioning system

I am a GIS professional and cartography is a major part of my career. We are in for a doozy, Let’s go folks!
The best part of the episode is Nate wisely advising a new comic to “Punch up” with his jokes only minutes after calling Dusty’s sister a cow. I know this is the type of hypocrisy that led Turr Lur to jumping ship… but I am all in. Keep it up boys!
New conspiracy theory: Biohazard has not been sick, but wanted to sit back and watch Aaron take all the shots in his absence.
Sadly, Bates is still getting dragged in his absence. 🤣
And he is still trying to get a new nose!
The mischievous look on Dustys face when he asks Aaron “The wrong forks, huh?” Comedy Gold👌🏽
I know it’s gonna be a good day when driving to my first job and listening to y’all. Appreciate the uploads fellas
The magic of a Bates-less Nateland cannot be overstated
Holy cow! The discussion of 6 & 12 o’clock as directions was amazing. I’d give ANYTHING to see Aaron read the “Who’s on first?” Bit to Nate and Dusty. That would be unbelievable.

Nate just proving why the 1/3 lb burger didn't work 😂
😂😂
I live in West Virginia and it was cool you guys bringing up the Greenbrier. Look into the bunker underneath the resort. Dusty will LOVE it!

Thanks for telling us about Sprung. Watched the whole season.Brilliant in so many ways. Love Officer Gout and Bite me Bates in the show.
I work in an office and use headphones when I listen to your podcast in my cubicle. I'm brought to tears a lot of times from laughing so hard, but I try to keep it quiet. I'm sure my cubicle neighbors think I'm just quietly sobbing and no one comes to check on me.
"Well, they're not gonna go to college." Nate Bargatze, who didn't go to college, on cows
I really enjoyed Nate's inspirational talk during the Into the Wild section. He has such a great outlook on life and seems so grounded. That whole minute of explaining “6:00” to dusty was gold
He was explaining it to me too. Sadly.
Dusty
I've never been good at time.
Nate
Takes you a second?
😂😂😂
Nate and Dusty together is comedy gold for me. I can really relate to there comedy like no other!
"The wrong forks huh" was great.
The court reporter had an even more confused look. like she was wondering if she should put "crickets chirping" in the transcript.
... tough crowd, tough crowd..
I so enjoy every episode. Today I was prepping for vacation and had a lot of baking to do. Y'all kept me laughing and entertained the entire time.

I listened to this dizzying episode on the road and now I’M lost in my hometown. COWFAX
I cry with laughter with every episode! Keep up the good work, gentlemen! I love this podcast!
At first I was like “maps?” What’s going to be funny about maps but this episode was loaded with comedy gold. Aaron calls out a movie’s director the way Brakepad calls out a TN city’s county.
Hello folks! My wife is alseep while I’m laying in bed doing work and listening. The roomba bit has me in pain while trying to hold in my laughter! Also a 49er fan and agree that Joe Montana deserves his own movie. Love the show, and thanks for the laughs

I’ll be in the front row for Nate’s show at The Melody Tent on Cape Cod at the end of August. The tent has a stage that’s “in the round”
I’m missing butterfinger. He’s the heart of the show!
Nate, can you please do a small golf segment after the sign off. Just 5-10 minutes of your golf thoughts, stories, tips, or tricks. Love the podcast.
Pretty awesome watching Dusty slowly morph into the best dressed one on the Podcast. Nate, you are morphing into the old Dusty.
Nate sees the sun rise and set everyday in his house and they think it's amazing he knows north. lol.
When Nate mentioned, in passing, that the "Antarctic Island" was "pretty big" and stretched around to the top of the globe. OMG! Snot Bubbles. Honest to goodness about bubbles.
I miss Brian
I just realized that I need Brian to balance everything out. Hard to admit, but B-Ry is my sanity rock in this podcast.
We need art of Aaron as a Sea Cow!! Make it happen folks!
I have the funniest story about those original GPS devices. I believe we had the Garmin.
Many moons ago we were driving to my brother in laws wedding rehearsal. Since we didn’t know the area all that well we borrowed a GPS from my father in law. We put in the address and headed out. A fun fact I’ve learned from my zookeeper fiancé, baby elephants don’t learn how to control their trunks until they’re about a year old! One way the start learning is by sucking on their trunk just like human babies suck their thumb!
Yes I’m awake waiting to listen to this super fun podcast
Me too
For my senior trip a few pals and I went down to Myrtle Beach, NC.

I swear I'm going to open up a burger joint for the sole purpose of naming one of the burgers "the one one burger".
“In the round” isn’t an inside comedy term, also we need Brian back
I’m rewatching the Office while listing to The Office Ladies Podcast. I just rewatched “Survivorman.” 🤣 Can’t believe Michael Scott wandering around for days (hours) on the roadside didn’t come up in this episode. It’s definitely because Brian wasn’t there. Hope you’re feeling better, Breakfast!

Those jokes about the roomba roaming around had me dyin 🤣 This show is gold and dusty fits perfectly
its wednesday my dudes! lets goo Folks!
Could we do an episode on Calories or Food? A blooming onion at Outback is over 4k calories but celery is 10 and your body burns that when you eat it.
Edit: to provide actual facts, Outback shows 1650 (for 1 serving) blooming onion isn't a single serving.
The calories are in the oil that soaks in
Nate was on fire today, Very funny but I'm ready for these sodes' to have some direction again, cant wait for bowling ball to be back!

One of the best episodes yet. I'm howling. Nearly choked on my pizza.
The entire episode, I thought of the scene from the Office where Oscar had to explain budgeting to Michael like he was 5.
Love this show!! You all need to do an episode on Pliny the Elder! He had some wild ideas and medicinal knowledge. Similar to this podcast he didn’t fact checked anything he wrote. Thank you Nate, Dusty, Aaron, and Barracuda!
We need a t shirt of “You blew it, Buddy!”
Breakfast might be the most important meal of the day, but these three have a great chemistry.
Hello Folks.
How exasperated Weber Grilled gets trying to explain things to D-Mullet is gold 😂. Missing Butter Biscuits in these episodes!
Great episode!
Nothing made me laugh harder than when Nate said what if they made a doc about Nate land and only showed bates
Once when we’re going to the Texas coast, Mapquest wanted us to go into the ocean. When we ask, folks said, “That road washed out!” 🤣🤣
Listening to Aaron explain to Nate and Dusty how north and south work and the rotation of the earth felt like watching a scene from the movie Idiocracy. Aaron I don’t know how you were able to keep it together during that conversation. I was crying laughing so hard.
Aaron laughing when Dusty slipped in 4:20 is hilarious 😂
This is funny AF! It's like a nephew trying to explain stuff to his sarcastic skeptical uncles 😅
Mapps, Minor Attracted Persons. Hell yeah, Nate. Appreciate you helping to destigmatize the community.
Seeing how you guys love climbing movies and doccies, have you guys seen 14 Peaks. Incredible stuff.
With all the b.s. happening this week. I needed this.
It worked!
Then the neighbor says really quiet, “you ok, Bare?”
Our last name is Barenkamp & Jim has been “Bare” since a kid. Neighbor must have thought my husband got out!!
Dusty says: "I've never been good with time"..Nate says "yeah it takes you a sec?"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well done!
The Alpinist is about a guy from my hometown in British Columbia, Canada. Great documentary.
Nate, August 27th, cape cod melody tent.. its a round circle stage, ill be there!!! you can practice for you special!!
Fun fact about sea horses.
My dad used to not believe in them. I think a trip to the aquarium really opened his eyes.
