As many people asked I was finally able to make myself to go into the rain and film night Shibuya. Indeed that advertising screens, neon and other lights reflected in puddles do bring some Blade Runner cyberpunk feelings, the main difference reality is noisier. But neither TV nor other display convey sensation of feet, legs, body and even head wet either because of rain itself or sweat under rain wear.
Scramble cross is full of umbrellas.

Filmed in UltraHD 4K 60p with Lumix GH5 camera, 8-18 f2.8-4 lens and Beholder EC1 stabilizer.

Anyone else here just like the dark in general? Not a morning and more of a night person. Prefers winter to summer. Loves the rain. Love sitting in the dark. Not a crazy depresso thing just something comforting about it. Anyone?

It's an unbelievably clean city despite it having the largest urban population in the world. And here's what's even more interesting. There are no trash cans on the streets

The sound and view of Shibuya crossing during a rainy evening feels so epic and like something out of a science fiction movie.
Persona 5 did a pretty good job capturing the crowded center feel.
Like birds flying in a flock, or fish swimming in a school, the pedestrians in Japan find the ability to flow in confined spaces - even with umbrellas, so as to optimize movement and not bump into one another. Amazing.
I don't care what anyone says - Tokyo has it ALL OVER New York. I can't wait to go back to Tokyo!

In the middle of all these lights, progress and technology, the only thing that has remained the same all over the centuries is the umbrella.
A combination of Gloomy / Rainy night weather, neon lights, and Japanese people with umbrellas is the most atmospheric of Japan in my opinion.
I wish I could live in Tokyo, such a beautiful and peaceful place even out in the rain. Don't stop uploading these videos please 😁 greetings from Sweden.

Transparent umbrellas are the fashion now. The lights look amazing when it is raining. Wonderful video, my favourite Rambalac video so far, and I have watched all of them.

Your video description is perfect. What is new to me are the umbrellas. Thousands of umbrellas. Where I live I guess we don't get that much rain. If it rains we get wet. It is not generally a big deal. Surprising is the odd unique umbrella every now and then, an opportunity to be unique. As someone who does not own one, this was fascinating. Thank you for sharing your video and giving me the opportunity to see places I will never in my lifetime get to see. Thank you also for not having an obnoxious voice, thanking patreon supporters, or telling people to subscribe. There is something to be respected about things that stand on their own based on merit and I think what you do is unique and special. It adds value to my experience of living that I can't fully put into words but is something that I feel makes me more complete as a person for having watched and experienced vicariously.

It's interesting to see so many people not only out in the rain but also in no rush/panic to get out of it. You'll never find this many people out at night in the rain like this. Personally I love the rain ☺️ partly because most people don't. They're so focused on getting out of it that they ignore most things & people around them. It's peaceful to just sit out in the rain & clear your mind ☔️

I absolutely love walking around in a light rain storm, it's so relaxing. Even in a place like Shibuya that seems like it would be anything but relaxing.

I love your videos. Got to appreciate Japan and their society: Modern buildings, no litter, clean streets, didn't even see any homeless people, relatively low crime rate in their urban areas. They just took the best bits of urban society and put it together in a way the west can't. When I see Japanese cities, it feels like the ideal human civilisation. I'm positive that the Japanese mentality has a lot to do with that.
That and also they didn't discriminate half there population burn down the neighborhood and leave it to a whole generation of former slaves and do everything possible to keep them low

Incidentally, I was amazed with the umbrella situation when I went to Japan. Here in Australia, even in heavy rain I'd say you would see the majority of people without an umbrella. When I was in Shinjuku, I came out of my hotel to find it was raining lightly and about 95% of the people had umbrellas. I went to a McDonalds and by the time I'd finished eating, all the umbrellas were gone. As in, no one even seemed to be carrying a folded up umbrella, they seemed to have just vanished! It was an interesting contrast to over here.

I've watched blade runner at least 50 times and it never gets old. You're right about the blade runner atmosphere. Great vid Ram except....i kept wanting to hear some Vangelis synthesizor at some points. Hahaha.
