ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Can Dogs Eat Garlic
Garlic is very safe and highly beneficial to dogs. It’s been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an ingredient in pet food.
7 ways garlic benefits your dog.
Garlic is very nutrient rich and high in amino acids, inulin, sulphur, potassium, zinc, and phosphorus. Garlic also contains A, C, and B vitamins, thiamin, niacin, taurine, riboflavin along with calcium, germanium, manganese, magnesium, potassium, selenium, phosphorus, and zinc.
Garlic aids in detoxifying the body. It supports the good bacteria in the digestive system and eradicates many types of harmful bacteria. It sustains the liver while helping your dog expel waste through the whole digestive tract.
Garlic helps to avoid blood clots while stimulating the lymphatic drainage system.
It has antifungal, antibiotic, anti-tumor, and anti-parasitic properties.
It's also been shown that garlic suppresses bacteria that appear to be resistant to conventional antibiotics.
Garlic has shown to be a great multi-system booster for senior dogs, helping to clear, clean, disinfect and ward off dog flu.
And feeding garlic also helps to drive out worms and keep away fleas and ticks from your dogs body.
    How to Use Garlick?
Fresh organic garlic has the best health properties because it's clean of pesticides and heavy metals. Unpeel the cloves, finely chop it and allow to sit for 15 minutes before feeding. This lets the most important component of garlic, allicin, to build up its medicinal properties to full potential and provides antibiotic, antiviral, antioxidant and anti-cancer protection.
Add to your dogs food, giving ½ tsp per 20 lbs of your dog’s body weight daily.

Bixby Rawble - Freeze Dried Lamb - amzn.to/3kDbUmX
Great options for a small dog's nutritional needs and easy to implement, just go slow and small through any diet transition so the dogs gut can assilimate new foods. So mix old and new foods at first, mostly old, then increase new to old food over several weeks if necessary. It's also good to help the process with some soil based probiotics: amzn.to/3yoURqU Again, half dose for your dogs size first week and build from there.

I knew it. I kept Reading that garlic was bad for my dog and my instincts told me that garlic has so many benefits for us there's no way that. It is 100% bad for them. There has to be some good benefits. Thank you so much for sharing the information with us. I do have a couple of questions! First one is does the Raw garlic have to be uncooked or cannot be cooked in order to get the same results... Second question my dog has a lot of tummy issues and her poops are usually really messy. I do give her one of the best probiotics everyday and I am making a couple adjustments now with her diet but I just want to make sure. Is the raw garlic cooked or Uncooked. Which? One is better for her if she has A sensitive stomach and or GI track issues? Honestly I'm not really sure what's wrong with her. She does have orange poop from time to time so I'm not sure if it's liver or pancreas... But I do appreciate your opinion on this. I know they would be good for her with some of the other things she is dealing with. Please let me know your thoughts thank you so much!🙏🏼🙂

      @DanScott1  Рік тому +4

Raw and organic garlic is best, fine chopped, let sit for 15mns, then add to food.
What your telling me comes down to diet adjustment and some supplements. Here's some free diet help:
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..

For me, garlic has to be raw and organic, very finely chopped, let sit 15mins, then serve for the best health effect.

Here are some ways garlic helps keep your dog healthy:
      1. Prevents the formation of blood clots (anti-platelet)
      2. Decreases cholesterol build-up (anti-cholesterolemic)
      3. Widens blood vessels (vasodilator)
      4. Helps prevent the formation of tumors (anti-tumor)
      5. Stimulates the lymphatic system to remove wastes
      6. Antibiotic, antifungal and antiparasitic
      Drug Interactions
Garlic can interact with several types of medications. Here’s a short list of ones you need to be careful with:
      • Immune suppressants
      • Heart medications
      • Chemotherapy drugs
      • Blood thinners
      • Insulin
      • Antacids
      • High blood pressure drugs.
Don’t use garlic if your dog is on any of these drugs. Since garlic affects blood clotting don’t use it two weeks before any scheduled surgery.
Using a level measuring spoon, feed the following amount of fresh organic fine chopped garlic per day, according to your dog’s weight:
      • 5lbs: 1/6 tsp
      • 10lbs: 1/3tsp
      • 15 lbs: 1/2 tsp

What about onions? Is onion toxicity exaggerated as well? Can a 16 pound dog safely consume a few TBLS a day of chicken broth in his water if it contains onion powder or onion extract as an ingredient, low on the ingredient list?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  6 місяців тому

Onions contain a compound called N-propyl disulfide which can cause anaemia in dogs.
Onion toxicity in dogs can happen when a dog eats only 0.5% of his weight in onions. For a 75 lb dog, that’s only ¾ of a cup of onions. For a 10 lb dog, 1½ tablespoons is all it takes to cause damage. Lastly, for a 25 lb dog, it will take ¼ cup of onion.
Symptoms of onion toxicity or onion poisoning include:
      Discolored urine
      Decreased appetite
      Elevated heart rate
      Exercise intolerance
      Weakness
      Lethargy
      Problems with balance and movement
      Fainting
      Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
      Pale gums
You’ll also want to watch your dog for symptoms of anemia. These signs usually appear a few days after your dog eats onions, so if you know your dog ate a toxic amount of onions, don’t wait this long to go to the vet.
      Whitish or pink gums
      Skin bruising
      Dark or tarry stool
      Blood in stool
      Blood in vomit
      Fatigue
So it's up to you. Powdered onion can be more concentrated. Your not feeding much so it's probably well within limits so I have listed them for you to be aware and check for any signs. None of the signs above and your ok.

@@DanScott1 Hi Dan thought I would update you on the wraps, well I brought two and they are okay, but i think maybe too thick, they are a little like the incontiance nappies, okay for winter not so sure for the warmer weather, he has got used to them now, and before we go for a walk in the morning he shimmies across the front of the sofa, and does a couple of body shakes, and it peeps out, I am sure he does it on purpose, I put it back on whilst i get ready and he does it again, hahaha, only does it when he knows we are goig for a walk so not to bothered about that. The main thing is that stuff isn@t being flung around my flat, and left ll over the carpet and bedding. Such a releif!
I made him a make shift one for the night so he isn't to hot, of some old cotton jarma bottoms, i put in a couple of panty shields which i can remove and replace, if not to smelly, with press studs to keep it attached, that seems to work nicely to.
He does not seem to have any issue with his bits being covered so thats good too.
So over all I would give it a thumbs up, just need to find some made of thinner material, like cotton, for the summer, might make some more?
i make sure the elastic band around the sides are turned over on the ones i brought as they were leaving a bit of an indent, which can't have been good.
One more thing, it seems my Dash has a tendency to hurt him self bounding about in the bushes chasing whatever, this evening he flew down the tree covered hill to a little stream down the bottom like some lemming leaping off a cliff, anyhow when he eventually listened to my whistles to come back, we got home and as i was cleaning his feet i noticed he had chipped his nails, one was not to bad, but the last one was sort of ripped off, like the outside of the nail so the inside was exposed, if that makes sense, anyhow, it was bleeding, so just wondered if it is something to be worried about?
As it was bleeding when he began to run about in the flat I put some honey, garlic, water mixture i made on a cotton pad and wrapped it with a bandage, and tape, when walking i placed a poo bag over it.
As cant be good to get dirt into it?
The bleeding seems to have stopped now so I took it off as he is sleeping now.
Is the the right thing to do?

Every dog is different and more or less susceptible. It's not worth risking your dogs health. Their taste buds are not as pronounced as humans so they don't need seasoning. Great way to give my dogs anemia too!

On the contrary, it's great for many dog health situations. Nothing to do with anemia though.

Is it cruel to try it on stray dog before i give it to my own dog??

Imo it would be cruel cause what if you give the stray too much garlic, difference between your dog and a stray is that one of them has immediate access to a vet if something goes wrong while the other doesn't

@@dino_mite8403 i researched about it it's a scam it's the matrix trick to make you buy shitton of drugs for a problesm that can be solved with a small garlic, they gave so many dogs so much garlic like 40 cloves each every day and none of the dogs died but they showed symptoms of anemia well that amount of garlic can f up humans too now i give my dog one small crushed clove of garlic with his food everyday one week on one week off he doesn't take any medication and his parasite free i mean nothing not even fleas and his a outside dog

Thank you so much Dan for sharing your immense knowledge! I had a question if you don’t mind, may I use garlic oil/oregano oil for a dog that may have fungus in the intestines? I’m rehabilitating a dog for a person who has no money for conventional medicine. Thank you.

I'd just use the oregano oil, it's an excellent antibiotic. When using garlic, only use fresh raw garlic fine chopped, let sit 15 mins then use.
      Oregano oil (neat): amzn.to/3ulnF1T
1 drop oregano oil to 1tsp. carrier oil ie olive oil, mixed well then added to food or wrapped in treat.
If there's lots of infection, run a 11 day protocol then stop. If mild infection run 7 days. Works better than vet antibiotics and no side effects like vomiting and loss of appetite.

@@DanScott1 Thank you so much Dan, thank you for caring enough to write back. I am very grateful. Unfortunately the baby did succumb to it's illness last night but the wisdom and knowledge that you gave me during this time will indefinitely help me with my own babies and my animal rescue I plan on starting up hopefully next year.
Thank you again so much Dan, happy holidays, may you have a sweet new year.
