The life of Central African Republic Pygmies | SLICE

- Опубліковано 11 жов 2024
- The Baaka Pygmies are people that live at the edge of the Bayanga National Park in the Central African Republic. They are known for their songs and dances, but also have their own distribution of roles in the tribe: Women dance the Pongo for the spirits, and men risk their life by climbing up the trees to gather honey from wild bees.

The narrator is a big part of the success of this documentary. I enjoy his style of narration, his voice and everything. It is just a master piece
What a wonderful Community. Leave them as it is in the Ancient times.
But my friend I am afraid that some religious cult will go out there to preach their belief systems. And you do know the consequences?
Monkey Old love #MPK38
It's in 2021 just like us... Not ancient times
As usual foreign will leave them uncivilised but takes their resources.
That music, songs, chants they make is so very enchanting and hypnotizing. There is so human and real! I feel like even with all the advanced me with western society we now live more atomized lives. I imagine these people live more satisfying lives than us.
Life sometimes can be hard but they are happy and comfortable from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪 love them
Hunter-gather societies the world over seem extremely happy with their lot.
Makes you wonder If those of us living in industrialised city building areas are the unlucky ones
Also big love to Kenya, I’d love to visit
As a Native African it brings me joy to see other tribes out there still leaving life like my ancestors back in the days. Praying to the African gods singing and reciting spiritual songs....a happy lifestyle that vanished

Corrections: Presenter, they did not refer to themselves as the pygmies of the great forest. They are likely to say we are the people of the great forest. It is you who see them as pygmies, they are proud of themselves as people
Agree, media always looking for the hook, disregarding actual culture
I am west african and proud 🥰❤❤❤ I love love this tribe and its beautiful language. My tribe is mendé and krumen of liberia west africa

@@pattywangu2650 He’s right. Pygmies are known for their short lifespan. The women often reach menopause before age 30. They mature faster than any other ethnic group. They have primarily been wiped out by Bantu people as have most other sub Saharan ethnic groups.
I always envy indiginous tribes for their way of living in harmony with the world around them. I always get reminded of what a human really needs and whats just consumerism and vanity.
🥰🥰🥰💯Hallelujah
They have their own problems
If we had an opportunity to born and grow up in such society we wouldn't have known modern problems. And in comparison i prefer that lifestyle and problems over our modern ones.
What always gets me, it is how fit they are. When there is no junk food, people are fit!
God bless African people, thank you for sharing their stories❤️
I have a little flat under my landlord's house. My bedroom, living room and kitchen and dining room are one room, while the bathroom and laundry have their own rooms. I feel so fortunate that I have this, it includes swimming pool and broadband use. I get a pension, and even though it's not much I get to choose what I want from the supermarket, put petrol in my car and do what I like. I don't have to risk my life to get food or keep my children alive in the jungle. These people have each other, and that is the greatest gift of all.
Being grateful 🙏❤
Yes I’m grateful ❤️🙏
and I bet you're still nowhere near as happy as these beautiful people. I agree with everything you said. We live on a hamster wheel

The ancient Egyptians of the old Kingdom spoke of them. “Bring a dwarf from the land of the spirits, for the dance of the god” -Tomb of Harkhuf.

Love, hatred , jealousy are human feelings..... so definitely they have those feelings too......
Its because they dont have so called religion.
@Art Man that what i am tellling and also Hinduism..
@Art Man what similar to Hinduism? Are you serious. Can you please explain me.
@Art Man well I dont want to hurt your feeling but the truth is Hinduism is full of crap. Brahma so called creator married his own daughter saraswati. If I point out the nonsense about sanatan dharama then the list goes on and on. Anyway stay safe and keep your loved ones safe.
The good thing is, they dont owe anybody. They dont owe any bank or having shop accounts. They are free and happy
This is so amazing to see these tribal people way of life.
Looking at those trees 300 to 400 feet tall easily……….That is close to heaven, these men are fearless & tough.
Would love to see more on the Baaka people!! thank you for all your videos, they are some of the best!

How nice to hear anew the great sounds of this beautiful people of God! I spent 8 of my missionary life among them in their special pilot village of Belemboke ( Axis Nola to Bayanga). Most night this sound accompanied me to bed and I woke up to a greeting of Gbongbomako! I miss and love ❤️ them all.
You are deceived. These are sweet sounds to the devil. God does not make pacts for favors for dancing. Such is sorcery. As a missionary, you should have converted them to the Christian faith.
@@johnmoore4 unfortunately, you are very normal

Imagine living off the land in the most sustainable way and having enough for everyone. No crime no poverty no pollution no injustice that must be heaven
Very limited technology and culture, though. I personally also long for reconnecting with the rainforest, but I would definitely not like having to give up something like the Internet, or the Western music tradition that produced the magical harmonies of Bach. I mean, no offense to their singing, but it's not exactly "masterful", they're for the most part singing quite repetitively with very little harmonic or melodic variation; planning a piece full of well-placed harmonies and melodies, which has a direction throughout, is something that requires considerable skill and craftsmanship, and performing such pieces typically requires practice.
I'm torn between the simplicity of their lives and the good parts of the complexity of civilization (particularly since I strongly dislike the bad parts of the latter).
I guess there is a price for everything, you can not have your cake and eat it. Thats why we have wars, pollution, inequalities etc
@@nzappazapp8360:
Yeah, that's what I'm getting at, but ideally I would love the best of both worlds, i.e. some type of bio-organic advanced technology while still living in the rainforest; something like the world of Avatar, but with even better technology. Like the ancient tales of Lemuria. That's just fantasy, though, but one can dream.
I was saying the same thing. Dito
@@hoon_sol why do you have to compare their life to us?

Another brilliant document of an African area. Nice sharing.
You can really see the modern dances and mostly the popular dances originated from africa.
People don’t realize the insanity that is being that high up in a tree with no harnesses or ropes. If you let fear and panic take over it’s all over for you.
That kind of bravery is very admirable
These people are one of the great first people on earth like the great Coisans of Southern Afrika . There
Very powerful spiritualists Very spiritual people. There also great musicians who can sing polyphonic ally with such ease.
I'm happy to see the pygmies are alive and well. History wasn't kind to them..
I have watched a number of these documentaries of different tribes around the world. I love their respect of nature and taking only what they need. No wasting food. There is so much waste in western world on an epic scale.
Love this one. I have done some recent reading. The Baaka have been in these forests for thousands and thousands of years. It's unknown how long they date back. The earliest written accounts of them were from the Egyptians who sent explorers south to find the source of the Nile. Homer and Aristotle also wrote of them. Still up until the mid 1900's there were fables of who and what they were/are
If their music were to disappear, the worldwide community of man would be poorer for it.
This line hits different.
Even though they look happy God love them
I always wonder with videos like this, who invites you/allows you to film and give interviews and who does the translation?
This is not the most extreme example but some of the cannibal tribes or hunter tribes it seems so surreal that you were able to go in, get this crazy high quality footage and get their story; I really wanna know what's the process of approaching them to get consent like.
perspective is everything and here it was captured clearly -thank you

Wow that's such amazing footage.
Hi
So beautiful. Aka singing is magic and relaxing, somehow joyfull anyway. We have to leave all these people to live their own life. Despite all technology so called developed countries are not happy. Wealthy countries have everything but lack harmony, peace, humanity and respect for the nature and the future for coming generations. We leave dangerous garbage to them the same we treat some countries like a garbage place. Only in harmony with nature vi kan sing and dance like this.
Thank you for the info and video. Fascinating
My deepest thanks to this youtube for bringing such wonder to my sight ❤️
Their biggest threat is the tribe that took over the area they lived in and made their life hell. It’s such a sad situation and the government claims it’s trying to help, yet the abuse continues. I’ve researched the Baka and I used to send financial help until I found out that they were not getting it. These people are so very kind and loving. Praying they overcome.
My father solve in Central Africa as a peacekeeping force he brought this on a back to home and we all have to study it and it is simply awesome now I know and now I know the true source of the honey
Nice video thanks for sharing
She is a beautiful dancer
A wildlife refuge is taking a large chunk of the Baaka hunting gathering territory and threatening their way of life. So called wild life guards (simply men from other tribes who consider them self higher status than the Baaka) threaten them on non refuge land as well. Something has to be done to save them. They are some of the last ppl living the way humanity was intended to live. Such a beautiful ppl.
Great !
1. How far these pigmies from cities of Central African Republic?
2. The lifestyle they are living is accepted by these people or they are ignored by gov?
3. Do these childerns go to school? Do these people aware that how the world is advanced?

Indigenous people have so much to share and teach citied "civilized" peoples. We all need to demand that indigenous people are treated well and given fair amounts of lands and sovereignty in all of our countries.
That's exactly what is meant by authentic culture.
