D8 was legit. He wasnt sure of it thats why he first hided it in the "general noise" testing he's earpiece plus mic and shot it when he knew its gonna work. One thing to notice : Dimka came to 'Imma singer" competition and not "imma talent" or "kzch x- factor". He was great singer before he came there and became ever bigger - after. My shy prediction - he is a new staple for vocal education in now day history. As for lyric tenor to have fully developed alto and soprano registers (full voice ) without breaks - is new step in singing history. Im just happy to be witnessing it.
In fact, in at 10:07 you hit note C7 (~2100 hz), considering that your voice is cracking and the reorganization of the body is a very good result. Maybe you need to practice vocal more often, a very good voice. And about last note, I checked the D8 note from Dimash in the spectrogram, and the frequency fluctuations as well as the frequency increase, and the sound of the environment (music and noise) is present in the spectrogram. It's a living sound.

Yes the D8 was real, but he was sucking air in, not forcing it out like you would while using the whistle register.
