LOL I love it! That faux leather steering wheel cover w/boondoggle is the same one I have on my 2012 Silverado. I put it on after the factory leather turned to stone LOL. Also the same thing I had on all my 70's, 80's and 90's trucks! They are still available on Amazon, and are less than $10! Still going strong! Thanks for the memories!! 8) Peace --gary
We had several of these cabovers when I was a teen. I’d use them to hook up to trailers and bring them into the shop to be greased. These cabs would tilt side to side and scare the ba-jeezus outta me. I’ll always remember that
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 This is one sweet looking old rig & I sure appreciate the story behind it….I saw it, liked it, made a deal & bought it. Simple enough. Love the Cat engine! Original tucks are always appreciated as well, but I sure hope he restores it! It doesn’t look bad, but it does deserve to be given more love & maybe enough to look even better than new. I bet you enjoyed driving it. I bought my brother’s CL9000, but I haven’t driven it yet. Looking forward to doing that in the future! Thanks for sharing my friend! Blessings. 🥰🤩✌️
Beautiful truck. I hope he keeps it like it is, just fix what is needed. Can’t replicate that paint again. Perfectly faded, cat power, neway. Awesome truck.
We have an 86 ltl with the same same b model 400 cat no air to air was on the dyno at cat putting 375 to the ground mechanic said it was more than most of the 4 and 1/4 he tested
I love these dash boards ! I have see a picture in the 80ties with the complett truck family series by ford ! From the F-150 to the E and F 350 over the F -650 to the CL and LTL 9000 ! That was very impresiv
Awesome truck! I believe those and the Mack MH cabover had the same setup where the cab rode on airbags. I heard that both rode like on a cloud but were a bit scary in turns because it felt like the truck was going to lay over on it's side.
I so wish we got these CL 9000 in Australia but we never did, great injustice because Ford Semi’s had a big following in Australia. Is that the double bunk version Red ? Absolutely stunning Cheers Louis Kats from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺👍🇺🇸
Thankful somebody knew they had a scary ride , i drove one with a tanker and trust me it can be super scary to hit curves or brakes and worse at the same time . Wind is not your friend either 😅
As you can see here, Mike does a great job restoring cool trucks. But they’re only original once, which is why he’s torn. ua-cam.com/video/j6tyWrX7EiA/v-deo.html
@@MissFlatbedRed that's a beaut too.. cl9000 is a favourite of mine and that cl refreshed would look nice, I know what you mean about original only once but why drive it rusty..
Beautiful truck. But train horns are not original. I really love people who drive and restore cabovers but man I can't stand it when people put train horns on them.
The CL-9000 really was cutting edge when it was introduced.
@@stansdds Cab over engines are certainly outdated.
Beautiful truck. I used to drive one from LA - New Jersey. Back in the 80's. I loved it.
Drove in the 80's in NC, very nice truck
My husband loves these old trucks he says that his first trip to California was in one of them and he has always liked them sharp looking unit.
My absolute favorite truck ever !
I used to drive a CL 9000 like this one back in the 80s, and the ride was way ahead of its time. Ford had a good thing going at the time.
very nice looking ford cl 9000 cabover miss flatbed red
My dad had a 79 it was beautiful back when Ford built real trucks.
Thanks, you two!!! What an awesome piece of trucking history!!! Always thought the CL-9000 was a good-looking truck!!!
Love em!
Red, one clean CL9000👍👍👍
Thank you for another great video:

OUCH....🥺 I CAN FEEL IT ALL THE WAY DOWN HERE IN HOUSTON TEXAS. Nice video though, mNy thanks.🇨🇱🤠
I vote leave it original for now have fun with it if you want to restore it after you can. Beautiful truck
The red truck is slick! Update it but don't lose all the characteristics this truck has to offer!
We have an 86 ltl with the same same b model 400 cat no air to air was on the dyno at cat putting 375 to the ground mechanic said it was more than most of the 4 and 1/4 he tested
That is one classy truck, looking great in it's unrestored state.
Sweet piece.. good coverage
We called them 2 story Edsels way back when. Glad to see it saved from the wreckers!
Sehr moderner Lastwagen für seine Zeit .interessante kabine
Love it !
Very nice truck, love the dashboard
That an airride cab? Either one, hope they tilt it open for you. Be great to see chassis etc. One of the super COE's! A great choice MFR!
You’ll be able to see it well enough without making the owner go to that trouble for a 6-minute video on a windy day. 👍

How high is it with these stacks ?
Why did Ford give up building big trucks? What a beautiful truck.
What’s the difference between the Ford CL and Ford CLT
T= Tandem, which this is. I just didn’t include it in the title.
We were hoping it was a mackcruisliner
Jeff Riggi’s 1983 Mack Cruiseliner

This one see to much snow with salt !!
Except no…? The frame is really clean. Salt didn’t make the paint fade!

Snowrunner ahh truck
