    I've seen straw and clay slip used as insulation ;) good choice

    Might be a good idea to add a little DE to that straw to keep bugs out.

    Walls - have you looked into rammed-earth at all?

      Perma Pen thank you. I have looked into rammed earth a little bit, but not much because it doesn't seem to fit the context as much on a site where logs and straw are super abundant.
