Amicalola Falls State Park is in Dawsonville, Georgia, and Springer Mountain is in Dahlonega, Georgia. Springer Mountain is also the Southern Terminus of the Appalachian Trail, a hiking path that goes about 2,190 miles up to Maine.
It was my first backpacking trip ever, and I did it solo. Hiking the Appalachian Trail Approach Trail was definitely outside my comfort zone, which made it very much worth it.
